Windancer Lookout – Appalachian Mountain Views from Every Window

  • This amazing cabin in the Swiss Colony community overlooks the Appalachian Mountains with views from every window throughout the main floor. The cozy decor will make you feel like this is your home away from home. The stone-faced gas fireplace in the living room is perfect for the cooler months to help keep you warm and cozy. Set up with YouTube TV, the television is there for your entertainment with live local stations for news and sports.

    The kitchen offers full-size appliances, a microwave, and a coffee maker. There is also a washer and dryer available for your convenience just off the kitchen. The cabinets are filled with all the cookware and utensils needed to cook a meal at any time of day. There is dinnerware and flatware, glassware, and coffee cups for all guests. The dining room table has six chairs.

    On the main level, a small king bedroom overlooks the mountains. Watch the sunrise and sunset every day! This room also has a television for your enjoyment. The bathroom is just next door with a shower/tub combination. The upstairs master bedroom has a new king bed, a stone-faced gas fireplace, and a private balcony. Enjoy your morning coffee on the balcony while listening to the sounds of nature. The second upstairs bedroom has a set of twin beds. The shared bath has a walk-in shower. Each of the upstairs bedrooms has a television, too!

    The wrap-around porch has such breathtaking views that you may want to stay outside during your visit, cook on the gas grill, or just relax in the hot tub and count the stars in the sky! The screened-in porch overlooking the mountains is a great place to relax or have an outdoor dining experience. Enjoy the evening sharing stories and making s'mores by the outdoor fire pit.

    There is a fenced yard for your four-legged friend, too. This is a pet-friendly cabin and a one-time per-pet fee will be added if you bring your dog(s). The pet fees that will be added to your reservation are $75 + tax for the first and $50 + tax for each additional.

    • Minimum Age Requirement: Windancer Lookout is available to families or to guests 21 years or older.
    • Parking: Space is available for 3 vehicles.
    • Access: The roads are paved all the way to the property.
    • Pets: Pets are allowed at Windancer Lookout.
    • Location: 5.5 miles to downtown Helen.

March in the Mountains!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and our two pups just came home from a lovely week in this rental. This is our second time booking with GA Mountain Rentals and have only excellent things to say about the company. This cabin was in the perfect location to explore local trails, drive into Helen or Sautee for wine and great food, or have a relaxing evening. The cabin was WELL stocked with kitchen essentials, linens and extra blankets! The fenced in area isn't exactly what I would call a yard, it was quite small, but did give us peace of mind the dogs couldn't escape during late/early potty breaks. Would absolutely stay in this cabin again!

Cabin was very clean and perfect for our weekend get-away with our daughters. The management company even let us check in a little early and they communicated very well.

Our little trip

The place was nice not really what we thought but it did the job never could use fireplace. when we came in on first day its smelled like propane but went away with time and opening doors and windows. Hot tub was a nice touch for the place.

Great Place to Stay

We really enjoyed our stay at the Windancer Lookout. It was located in a quiet community with a stunning view. It had everything we needed. The hot tub felt clean, which was a big plus for us! The only thing I will point out is it is definitely in need of an update. Everything in that cabin is well used and would have been cozier if the furniture wasn't so worn out. It is also in need of a deep clean. Overall a great place to stay.

Beautiful view - Rustic Vabin

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the screen porch. We took 2 comfortable camp chairs and glad we did. Cabin is clean kitchen has most things except hot pads, plastic glasses for porch. AC worked great and wifi was too. Hot tub clean but is so loud when running. And the fire pit area needs to be mowed and made more appealing. Take firewood. And the check-in door is on the screen porch in the back. Not at the front door.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful view cabin. Nice at home feel. Comfortable beds and furniture. The kitchen needs some items like; hot pad, better can opene. The home has nice qualities but needs some attention to detail. Lighting in the bedrooms is bad, and the mirror situation is an issue if people are getting ready for any event. Large bedroom upstairs you have to stand on the bed to pull light light string.

We had a great time

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is was our first time to Helen, Georgia and it was so nice. The house was so nice and well kept up. The cleanliness was outstanding and even down to the scent of the sheets was amazing, they smelled so clean. The location of the house is on the top of the hill so the climb was a little steep, but it was still enjoyable. It was also very close to Helen and Cleveland where babyland is located so that was great. The beds were very comfortable and plentiful and the TV was equipped with all streaming devices so you can log into. Overall it was a great stay and we would definitely stay here again. I think the icing on the cake was the little guest book where you could write your experience, what you did in town and I thought that was so sweet, very nice touch. Also, after our first night stay the property management gave us a call just to see how things were going, and I thought that was very nice.

Christmas Stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin is very quaint. We were looking for a nice small, cozy cabin in the mountains and Windancer Lookout fit the bill. Driving up the road through the subdivision can give you a little anxiety if you’re not used to mountain roads, but it’s completely doable since they were paved. We saw deer frequently. Once coming up the road and the other out our window as they went their way up the road. The location was perfect, in between Helen and Cleveland. I would suggest maybe somehow to add a way to hang clothes (none of the rooms had closets that could be utilized). Also, I’m sure basic cleaning is done, but just going in with a duster and getting the cobwebs would do the cabin some justice. Also, pot holders would be nice. Basic supplies, like garbage bags and toilet paper, actually we were provided enough for the week. Best part of the cabin was the view! Pictures can never do it justice! I can only imagine the fall views and summer. I’m sure gorgeous!
