Wonderful stay - responsive owners

I used my stay as a place for my wedding party to get ready. Owners were very responsive during a small emergency with power in the area. Pretty house and great views. Unique art, great for a family!

Muir Woods Visit

This was a beautiful home with the exact accommodations our family needed for our trip. The kitchen is magnificent. Everything we needed for our stay was there. I wish the weather had been better so we could have enjoyed a glass of wine admiring the scenic view from the patio.

Wonderful house, amazing location

This house is really cool. If I was the owner, I would have been clearer in the description about the access (17 steep stairs from the sidewalk level down to the front door), just because some members of my party were older, but when I asked the owner for details he was very responsive. The view out the floor to ceiling windows in the living room is otherworldly. Breathtaking view of the mountains to the north. Easy to forget we were staying just a short drive from town, the beach parking lot, etc. Super-close to a couple trails/outlooks. And the rooms were nice.

Amazing location and views!

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful Muir Beach home. It was a 70th birthday party and family reunion. The house was big enough so we were able to spread out but also enjoy the amenities (eg the big kitchen, dining room and living room). It’s an easy walk up to the Muir Beach overlook and nearby hiking at Muir Beach. There were three big bedrooms and a smaller bedroom with a twin and loft bed which would have been perfect for a kid or teen. As the youngest older adults, we made it work and it was actually pretty cozy. The views of the hills and local birds in the bird feeder were stunning. Would definitely recommend!

Family Wedding Trip

We came into town for a wedding and stayed at this amazing property. It was perfect for our family of six adults. We grilled burgers & dogs, ate breakfast at the house every day. Kitchen is beautiful and totally stocked. We visited Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, hiked the Owl Trail which is just steps from the house. The views from Owl Trail & Muir Beach Overlook are amazing. Also had a couple great lunches in Mill Valley & Sausalito. We had a great time and would definitely stay again.

20 stairs to get in the house-3 stories. Other than that we liked the house and the kids (all under 6) loved the space and all the new toys.

Outstanding in every respect

As our grandson said, this house is different from the vacation places we usually stay because it looks like someone actually lives here. We enjoyed the eclectic charm everywhere we looked. The location was terrific to get to the outdoors places we wanted to visit and the views were stunning (especially one sunrise). Greg was an attentive host, including offering an onion when we discovered we didn’t have one. It’s a perfect for a three-generation family like ours.

Stunningly Pastoral

A great place to refresh and renew…very group friendly with lovely private bedrooms and great group gathering space…everything you need for a wonderful time…Muir and Stinson Beach…further down the road fresh oysters from private beds. Mill Valley has lots of first class places to eat and shop. Or just a mile from the house the Pelican is a primo old English pub. Greg and Deb were very supportive of our family, and lovely to deal with. Best VRBO I have stayed in all my years...and one of the most fun places to visit.

Great Location!

We stayed for 4 nights in October. We were a party of 8 - four adults, and kids ranging from 11-17. The house has a gorgeous view of the mountain and is a very short walk to the Muir Beach Overlook, where you can view beautiful sunsets. The location worked well for day trips into San Francisco and up the coast. The roads are very windy so I recommend arriving in daylight. We had plenty of room for my sister’s family to visit and play charades. Hosts were very responsive! They have a great play area and my kids loved playing school. They also made a movie on the deck. Lots of space to spread out! We didn’t feel cramped at all. There is a long staircase to get into the house, and a lot of stairs in the house, so keep that in mind if that is an issue to you. Overall, a great stay.

Lovely Prioerty on the Coast

We stayed here with 7 adults and that was the perfect number of adults. Could have more if others were children, but I would say that is max as far as adults. Home was clean and beds were comfy. Well equipped kitchen and beautiful deck. It felt luke you were at home. A couple things, these are not negatives, just for those travelling to be aware of: There are steep stairs to enter the house and while close in miles to Mill Valley and San Francisco, it is a really windy road to get in and out. Both things completely doable but if you have mobility issues or get car sick be prepared. If your purpose is to visit Muir Woods and Stinson Beach, the location is ideal. The views from the Muir Beach Outlook, just across the street, are breathtaking. The hosts are amazing and great communicators.

Muir Beach La Grand Maison

Beautifully appointed home. Owner very responsive to questions and gave us wonderful suggestions for restaurants and activities in the area. Lots of light. Open kitchen/dining area. Wonderful view of mountains from the deck. Comfy beds. Generous bath products. Huge dining table for visiting and playing games. Great getaway close to Muir Woods , and 80 pictures but convenient to city of Adan Francisco as well.

Private coastal home with amazing views. Great for a family. Located across from Muir Beach overlook and close to Muir Woods. Comfortable beds, well appointed kitchen, great communication with owner. Enjoyed our stay here.

Fantastic vacation spot!

We absolutely LOVED staying at this house and the kids are already asking when we can go back! Hosts were super helpful with recs for local restaurants and activities, as well as troubleshooting questions, and checkin and out was easy. The house was super cozy with the most incredible views, lots of great amenities AND toys / activities for the kids. Oh and the kids’ bunkbed/loft room was a HUGE hit! The location is RIGHT next to Muir Beach Overlook, Owl Trail and Slide Ranch, and about a 20 minute drive to Mill Valley, so we felt like we had a peaceful spot tucked away and surrounded by nature, but were also close enough to town that whatever we needed was within reach. A wonderful time!

This home is centrally located to exploring the San Francisco area and accommodated our family of eight. The beautiful Muir Beach overlook is just steps away from the front door, while other attractions like Muir Woods and access to the coastal California highway are mere minutes from the house.

Wonderful weekend getaway!

We really enjoyed our time at this lovely home. It is well equipped with everything we needed and we found it very comfortable and cozy. The hosts were also very responsive and helpful. It's located near the Muir Beach Overlook so we could watch the sunset at a picnic table by an ocean cliff each evening ... and the house has a deck with a wonderful view facing the hills so the early risers in the family could also watch the sunrise. (The pictures don't do it justice; the view is better and the home is bigger than the photos indicate.) We were seven people - five adults and two kids - and we had plenty of room. We saw a family of quails on the hillside, right off the house deck. And we really enjoyed watching the fog roll over the hills. While the rest of the country is experiencing a heat wave, we enjoyed perfect weather - foggy mornings and sunny afternoons. Muir Beach is 20 minute hike down the hill; or a 5 minute drive (but get there early, as the parking lot fills up quickly). We had a great time and would love to stay here again.

You better be in good shape here

Overall the place was nice and clean, nice view, nice beds et al. However, in the listing there were no pictures of the treacherous stairs leading down to the property from the street. (30+? at a very steep grade) My 85 year parents could barely get up and down them to enter or exit the property. One step, wait, another, wait.... We all struggled as well to carry a case of water, a cooler, large luggage. It was quite harrowing. The hand railing was wobbly and I cannot believe this was not mentioned or shown in the listing. Owners were very friendly and accommodating, again place was clean but there are SO MANY STAIRS at this place.
