Nous avons passé un excellent sejour dans cette belle demeure. L'accueil a ete tres chaleureux, la maison est spacieuse et agréable à vivre, avec une superbe piscine. Nous avons eu en pous la chance de profiter d'un tres beau temps. Une adresse que nous recommandons sans hesitation!

Het verblijf was zeer goed, exact zoals beschreven. Het is 20 minuten van Sarlat en daardoor ligt het in een zeer rustige omgeving. Zeker een aanrader!

Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour en famille dans un cadre verdoyant idyllique. L'hébergement est vraiment conforme à la description avec de beaux volumes et une décoration très agréable à vivre...à fortement conseiller :-)

Très beau gite

Nous avons passé un sejour en famille de 11 personnes dans ce gîte. Endroit tres calme, le gite est grand et tres bien équipée. On ne manque de rien. Piscine chauffée et climatisation dans chaque chambre et salon.C'est une très bonne adresse que je recommande.

Très bon sejour

Très bon séjour dans cette grande propriété. Les grands espaces permettent de séjourner avec de nombreux vacanciers sans se marcher dessus. La piscine chauffée est parfaite ! La literie est de très bonne qualité et la clim est un grand plus ! Séjour parfait !!

Amazing house. Amazing holiday

JP and Charlotte were amazing hosts. They love next door and went above and beyond and were there to help with anything we needed, but you didn’t know they were there unless you needed them. The house,gite and pool were completely private and so beautiful. We hope to stay again in the future

Idéal pour famille

Un lieu idéal pour la famille (11 personnes dont 3 enfants ) à la campagne : de l’espace, apéro au bord de la piscine chauffée ;cuisine bien équipée, séjour , chambres et sdb au top . Les principaux lieux du Périgord noir à visiter à 30-45mn. Des marchés nocturnes gourmands sympas dns les villages à proximité (St Geniès).

Lovely remote farmhouse but near to everything too!

This is a great property which is perfect for two families sharing, plus has a granny annexe too. The kitchen is well equipped and also.has a BBQ. The pool was warm and brilliant for the kids. It's to the North West of Sarlat, about 10 mins from Salignac which has a small supermarket, boulangerie, petrol station etc. Loads of tourist things to do nearby including canoeing on the Dordogne. It feels very rural yet almost everything is within a 30 mins drive. The owner was very accommodating and we would recommend 100%.

Peace and Quiet

Fantastic property very well equipped (could do with a bigger BBQ) in a really tranquil setting. Perfect owners. We understand the need not to give the exact location away but as described it could be judged by some who prefer village life as misleading. A few more towels especially for pool usage would be welcome. The above does not distract from our score: 10/10

Lovely house in countryside setting

We had a lovely stay at the house, we had originally thought it was closer to Sarlat as the location on the listing suggested, but this is a good half an hour drive to Sarlat. 10 minute drive to the nearest supermarket. We were 3 generations staying, Grandparent, Parents and teenagers so the set up of the house and gite couldn’t be better. We had a rather unpleasant encounter with who we believe to be the owners wife, when she came out and swore at our children for making too much noise playing in the pool at about 10pm on the final night of our holiday - they were only playing and it wasn’t that late and given the remoteness of the property we couldn’t understand why she found this so unreasonable and it wasn’t like it was night one! The air conditioning was very welcome. The house well equipped and beds comfy. Overall a really lovely property if you are happy to be 40 minutes drive to the river.

Ideaal vakantiehuis als je met meerdere gezinnen bent

Ik kan eigenlijk niets negatiefs zeggen over dit huis. Het is strak gerenoveerd, fijne bedden, goed geëquipeerd, grote tuin, fijn zwembad en hele aardige eigenaren. Wij waren met twee gezinnen en een oma, en dit was ideaal. Het hoofdhuis bevat twee exacte gelijke delen (2x twee slaapkamers + badkamer), dus je kan nauwelijks ruzie krijgen over wie welke kamer krijgt en daarnaast is er nog een los huisje met eigen badkamer en keuken voor diegene die wat meer privacy wil. De eigenaren wonen verderop op het terrein maar daar merk je niets van. Het is wel ideaal dat als er iets is of je ergens een vraag over hebt je gelijk naar ze toe kan en het zijn super aardige mensen. Het enige waar je je misschien wel van bewust moet zijn is dat er geen bakker of supermarkt is op loopafstand, maar je komt hier toch alleen met de auto dus dat zou geen probleem moeten zijn.

A wonderful family holiday with friends

We stayed for 10 days in late July. We were staying with friends and there were 8 of us in total with both families having 2 children. The set up of the house is perfect for travelling with 2 families with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom for each family on either side of the house. The annex would have been perfect for grandparents or an additional family. The property was light and bright and the air conditioning was such a treat meaning comfortable nights for us and the kids. The pool area was perfect for us (no lock on the gate but we improvised with some rope) and being completely fenced off meant complete peace of mind from the children getting in accidentally. The eating areas were perfect for all the group eating together and the house was really well equipped. The swing was a big hit as was the huge field for some ball games. The area has lovely walks from straight out the front door and there are numerous towns, markets, caves, river activities, nature reserves etc etc all around 30mins by car away. Very much recommend martel. JP was very friendly and relaxed and it felt like a wonderful, peaceful break. Thanks JP for a great stay.

Great Family Holiday Villa

We recently stayed at this spacious villa, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The layout is fantastic, offering great flexibility with a separate gite that provides additional privacy and space—perfect for families or groups. One of the highlights was the clean and warm pool, treated with non-chlorine methods, which left the water slightly salty without any of the usual chlorine smell or taste. It was a refreshing change that made swimming even more enjoyable. The villa itself was spotless and very well-equipped, ensuring a comfortable stay with all the amenities we could need. Check-in was a breeze, and we were warmly welcomed by the host, who lives next door. They were extremely helpful and approachable, making sure everything was perfect for our stay. The surrounding area is very quiet and relaxing, set in the peaceful countryside of rural France. This does mean, however, that most amenities—beyond a small supermarket—are at least a 30-minute drive away. We found this a worthwhile trade-off for the tranquility, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind if convenience is a priority. The only slight frustration was the Wi-Fi. While it is provided, the speed and coverage were somewhat limited, and we ended up tethering our devices to our phones instead. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this villa for anyone looking for a relaxing and well-equipped retreat.

Gorgeous spacious property in tranquil location

Let me start by saying this is the best property I’ve stayed in in France. The house is really well appointed, the kitchen well equipped with plenty of everything you need, the lounge is spacious and comfortable, the bedrooms a good size with comfortable beds. Air con in the lounge and all bedrooms was fantastic as it was very hot when we were there. The little gite is charming and similarly appointed to the main house. The pool area is really nice and the pool was a perfect temperature, the beer fridge was very welcome. The house location is similarly good, it’s not too far to Montignac (big supermarket, restaurants, canoeing etc), salignac the nearest town has a few restaurants, weekly market and a small supermarket and is really only a short drive. Sarlat for the normal tourist visit well worth some of your time, also Rocamadour and the attractions around there are close enough to enjoy day trips etc. All ion we were very happy and enjoyed our time there immensely

Superbe semaine en famille au cœur de la Dordogne !! Les enfants, les parents et les grands parents ont profité aussi bien des activités alentours (prévoir 30 min de transport moyen) que de la Piscine et du confort de la maison. On recommande 😜 Merci à nos hôtes.

Absolutely Perfect 5 bedroom Gite 25 mins drive north of Sarlat

This Gite is absolutely fantastic, the pool area is the best we have been to, the house is spacious and very well laid out, five bedrooms including the separate little gite (this is 15 metres from the main house so perfect if you need that extra room. outside areas are all well furnished and the Gardens are vast and beautiful, the owners live in the house next door if required, very friendly but as we did not have any issues we did not see them after checking in. Two things that were frustrating the were property is NOT in Sarlat, the map on the site marks it as just in the south of the town!! it is in fact 25 minutes drive north of Sarlat (if you have not been to Sarlat then you are missing one of the best towns in France) , nearest shops were 6km away, please do not book if you think it is walking distance to Sarlat or local shops/cafe/bar. After Booking and no where did i see any mention beforehand i was informed the week before arriving that a 150euro cleaning fee that was payable on the last morning, this should really be in the booking process in my opinion. if you are looking for a perfect Gite for a large family or friends then this is one of the best. I highly recommend.

Un joli corps de ferme en pleine campagne périgoudine

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour familial (7 adultes et 2 adolescents) dans ce corps de ferme spacieux, bien aménagé et équipé avec des ustensiles de cuisine de bonne qualité. Endroit idéal pour visiter les sites touristiques de la Dordogne. Et nous avons avons profité de la belle piscine chauffée. Un grand merci à l'hôte, La Morella Jean Philippe pour son accueil et sa grande discrétion.

Calme et nature

Super semaine! La maison est superbe. Le propriétaire est très sympathique et très arrangeant! Il s'est déplacé a chaque fois que nous en avions besoin. Le soleil n'était pas toujours au rendez-vous mais les DVD et jeux de société mis a disposition ont permis d'occuper les plus jeunes... Seul bémol la mauvaise connexion wifi mais comme cela arrive souvent à la campagne...
