  • RVA offers Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort. Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



    Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort #255A will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles, fishing pier and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. The guest will also have access to the community fitness center.



    Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including hotel rooms, one- and two-bedroom garden view units, and one- and two-bedroom beach front units.

Weekend getaway

A quiet getaway

This was a solo mom-cation. The room was clean and well stocked. The bathroom had fresh towels. I was seconds from sitting on the beach with a cold beer and no kids. It was perfect.

Love the location

You really can’t beat the location. Right on the beach and walkable to a few restaurants that were great. The studio we rented was just too tight for us. We didn’t think about having to wash dishes in the bathroom sink. We will stay at this resort again but in a one bedroom.

Nice place for a fantastic getaway

Silver Sands was a great place for us to stay for our Longboat Key getaway! My only complaint would be that it would have been nice for housekeeping to come in at least once for what we paid. Otherwise, yes, we would certainly stay here again!

We had a great visit- enjoyed the complimentary Cedars Tennis membership! Location and beach were great. Only drawbacks were a very noisy air conditioner and the room was dark.

Secluded beach

There was no one on the beach. the chairs and umbrella were a good perk for hot days. I wished there had been some waves.

Great Location

They have done a remarkable job with the cleanup after the storm but there were a few maintenances issues that had to brought to their attention. Once they were notified, they did resolve all our issues.

Best Kept Secret - Best Beach in Florida!

We stayed in 4 different rooms, with 14 family members. Staff was WONDERFUL, as was the beach. The pool bottom was a little rough, and we had two broken light fixtures, and a frying pan that was not very good. But we wouldn't change our mind to return over and over again. We first stayed there when my daughter was 3, and we now took our Grandsone who is 1. You will not be disappointed, Other than the grocery store, we never went anywhere~

Perfect Getaway #2

This place is amazing!! We love it here. This is our 2nd year coming and both times were perfect. Wonderful property with Wonderful view and right at the beach. They provide beach equipment plus have mini golf, shuffleboard, and a heated pool which makes it more nice. Quiet peaceful little island and everyone is soooo friendly. The lady at the office is always really nice and helpful. Just mins away from Bradenton and Sarasota. We had a perfect week there again and will definitely be back next year. Perfect place for all ages. Dont come here if its hard for you to leave and go back home bc this place will make you wanna stay!!!

Adequate unit for short term stay.

Unit needs updating. Bedding was plain sheets and a blanket in-between. Bathroom had poor lighting and an old shower. Mirror was so low anyone over 5’5” couldn’t use it. Air conditioning was loud. Pool & beach were excellent..

You get what you pay for

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pictures don't really match the room. It's outdated and smaller than it appears. Hardly any water pressure, especially the sink. The bathroom has some water damage to the walls. For what you pay, it'll work given how close it is to the beach. But a little more money would give you at least a one bedroom and be better for a week. It's cramped for 2. Pool was nice but needed umbrellas as all but 2 were broke. Beach access was great. Need to clean up though where you wash your feet from sand as it's all sand and defeats the purpose.

A gem of a property but an old unit

Silver Sands is right on the beach , it’s “old Florida” You have access to Cedars East, with free bikes, (however, they did not honor them for us and pool , tennis and Pickleball courts . The office manager Margaret is wonderful, responsive and helpful. The room needs updates: the shower grout is old and moldy, the toilet seat had wear marks ,mattress is hard and old, there is a loud wall unit for HVAC . That said I would stay again at the property just not in this unit.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location, the weather and the front desk service is great! The room is doable for the price. Many have said a new matress is needed and we agree. Its not fun to recover from vacation bc your bed was bad. Many have said the tv is tiny. I don't go on vacation to watch tv but March Madness was going and it is nice to unwind in the evening when there is no night life on the island. Two easy improvements would make this a 100% great place to be.

Not a great experience for us .

First of all we arrived at 4:30 and the front desk was already closed. We wanted to get there as early as possible to make sure our room was ok. The room smelt like musty, moldy basement, the room is very small and dark, not as bright as the photo shows. No place to put your suitcases or anything, just a few drawers. We turn the air conditioner down, thinking it was just damp from being shut up or something went and bought scencies and such to help. The next morning, we went down to talk to the lady at the front desk and here She leaves an hour early every day due to traffic I feel like we should have gotten a notification about that. When we told her about the smelly room, all she said was that’s too bad, and there were no other rooms because they were booked didn’t even act concerned we were hoping it would’ve cleared up but discovered that night it was the air conditioner. My husband cleaned out the filter and everything. It was disgusting. When we asked the lady where we could eat, she said there was nothing on longboat key that we had to go into Annamarie Island or Sarasota, which was not true, we found out from other people there were several places to eat-within walking distance.. as of right now traveling into Annamarie Island was a nightmare. There is construction going on everywhere so traffic is very slow. The beaches were absolutely amazing white powdery, sand, and very quiet. Would not return to this Silver Sands again, but maybe other rooms were better.
