Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



    Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including hotel rooms, one- and two-bedroom garden view units, and one- and two-bedroom beach front units.

The rooms are always clean, the grounds and pool area are very well maintained. Zero complaints or issues. We enjoyed ourselves and will def be returning! The sunsets are unbelievably gorgeous and we are very comfortable with the rental!!!

Super location, beautiful grounds and pool. The unit could use some new furniture in living /kitchen area, but pretty nice unit. However, there is no security to speak of and my friend found out the hard way as money was taken from her purse in the unit. Nice restaurants nearby and love the beach. Linda B

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The pool are and shuffle board are were filthy. I personally collected all the towels at the pool for 3 days and put them on a chair. It was a pile! No one picked them up. There was melted butter and French fries on a table for 3 days. not to mention the towels and food at the shuffle board. We have been going to silver sands for since 2016. This is definitely the dirtiest it has ever been. I hope you can get the help needed so everyone can enjoy their vacation.My room definitely needs love. We sleep in the extra bedroom of the 2 bedroom. The air conditioner is so loud, it sounds like a freight train in the middle of the night. It made sleep tough. There is a foul smell under the sink and in the dishwasher and the blinds seem to fall off every year. It was nice they got a new fridge this year.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: For starters it should not be called a “resort”... because it’s not, the only amenities is a pool that’s falling apart, a 6 hole mini gulf course and a shuffleboard. I will say that it does have great potential but as it is, it’s definitely not worth the $175 as a nightly rate. This was our second time there, we had hoped it would have improved but it seems that cleaning portion of the housekeeping is still yet to be resolved. The issues we encountered were, leftover food from previous renters in stove, dirty dishes, lipstick on cups, paper in trash bins, sand all over the floor, a musky / Pee smell coming from one of the bedrooms, and housekeeping coming one day out of the 3 days of which I had to go get new fresh towels from the front desk as housekeeping was nowhere to be found on the property. Something to be on the look out for is the couch that folds out into a bed in the living room, it is a chiropractor dream for creating clients, so if your planning on visiting and your the one sleeping there get ready to feel the pain. THE GOOD POINTS about this hotel? It’s location as it relates to the two little town both north and south of its location and the office staff were very nice and polite. Perhaps a reply email will be sent to offer apologies for this experience however the only apology the owner/RVA can offer is a partial refund, anything less is just a bandaid to look good as a reply to this review. Overall, I give silver sands gulf beach resort a 1.5 star out of 5 rating. If your looking for locations and don’t care about cleanliness, this is your spot, but if you do, I’d keep away..

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay. I do have two complaints. We had reserved rooms adjacent.one of the rooms was changed and we were not notified of this until check in. We understood the reason for this but think we should have been notified sooner so if we desired we could have made a change. the other complaint and really the main one was that the parking lot was one big white dust bowl. My car was completely covered in this dust as were our shoes. They should do something to improve this situation.

My sister and I spent two nights here. We were very pleased with the room, easy access to the beach, and close proximity to St. Armand's Circle. Great trip!
