While we enjoyed our stay in this property it got off to a somewhat rocky start and our concerns really did not get fully addressed until the latter stages of our time. In no particular order our frustrations stemmed from the following;
1) It was extremely difficult to communicate with Suncoast Realty and their agents. No phone ‘s, no responses or late/ slow responses overall. Total web-based response system. No local office or staff;
2) Suggest owners provide a manual on how to operate TV. Did have a rep from Suncoast come to the house and go through how to operate the TV, but something in writing in the house would have been a great help;
3) The showers were very dirty/ moldy and we did our best to clean them. They need bleaching at the very least, and preferably complete re-grouting. There were dust bunnies on the ceiling by the ceiling vent in the dining area generated by the AC coming on. This was mentioned in a 2019 renter review, but apparently never addressed. We did change the furnace air filter and clean the ceiling;
4) Ceiling fans were pretty much inoperable. 3 new fans were installed later in our stay!
5) The pool light was burnt out and subsequently the entire light was replaced;
6) The window and door blinds are old and broken and need replacing;
7) One of the sliding glass doors did not work at all when we got there. It was then serviced and was considerably better after that;
8) The lawn service was marginal at best. They were only there twice as far as we know and they did not mow around or under anything in the yard. The pool area had many weeds growing up inside the lanai. When we first saw the yard guys he said they would be doing it the next week. They didn’t show up and we subsequently pulled them all ourselves;
On the plus side the location and overall layout of the house were very nice. The beach supplies and bicycles also very nice. After nagging Suncoast enough we started getting responses and some satisfaction on our requests and concerns. The local service people that came out were very efficient and were able to fix most if not all the items we have mentioned. It should be noted that several items on our list were the same that were mentioned in a review back in 2019!
All in all, the house needs a deep clean. Suncoast’s response was generally “we will notify the cleaning people and make sure things are better after you leave and the next renters arrive”. Really? Weren’t we paying for this already?
