Bare Minimum Cabana Beach Club – Disappointing Stay, Disorganized Check-In, & Subpar Accommodations

Our stay at Cabana Beach Club was a disappointment from the start. After traveling all day, we arrived to find no key packet at the designated pickup spot. The after-hours line was useless—the agent couldn’t find my reservation and admitted she was just an answering service. Nearly an hour later, someone finally called and vaguely directed us to a different property next door, which had never been mentioned.The condo was tiny and poorly equipped. The “kitchen” was just a kitchenette with no stove—an issue since I’d pre-ordered 200 in groceries expecting to cook. Essentials were missing: no kitchen knife, few mismatched dishes, no extra trash bags. The bed was uncomfortable, the AC only cooled the bedroom, and a thin interior door let in every conversation and bathroom noise from the unit next door. Sleep was nearly impossible.Though the pool and beach were close, the beach was rough and full of shells—not ideal for kids. We weren’t even given the laundry room code and had to borrow one from other guests.Only one trash bag was provided for a multi-day stay, which pretty much sums it up—bare minimum service. For the price, this rental fell WAY short. Sanibel Arms West offered far better value, comfort, and service—so that’s where we’ll return. RVA Rentals, Cabana Beach Club, and VRBO need to do better. Guests deserve more than this.

We liked the property and the location. We were not expecting to have a mini fridge. The mini fridge limited what we could keep in the room. The beach was quiet. Still lots of devastation from the hurricane. We visited shops and some had been open just a couple of months. We did enjoy our trip. If you visit this area try to support these shops and businesses.

We will be back. Wonderful Property with comfort and fun amenities. It was perfect, even though the hurricanes had left the property with clean up and maintenance. Great property manager!

Mixed feelings

Cleanliness is so important. Black mold on the shower floor and loose moldy tiles! No bathroom fan and when you open the window in the shower to vent, the exterior window/screens are filthy. No hair dryer. Living room chair has worn dirty, gross, arm rests, and is broken/tips forward. Porch is dirty in the corners, dirty fan and a filthy 5 gallon bucket, with gross plastic mats and dirty broom/mop in the corner to look at while you have your morning coffee. Old, flat pillows, packaging and an old tv in the closet. Throw that stuff out! Small bed had cheap sweaty bedding and a plastic mattress cover. Oversized top sheet & old, heavy, miss-matched blanket with extra sheet to hide it slid around, came undone and made sleep difficult. King sized pillows had no pillow cases! A/C is in the bedroom ONLY. Check in is confusing, you have to go to a separate location two miles away to pick up a paper packet that’s unnecessary. Inconvenient if you take an Uber. BUT the porch right across from the lovely heated pool was fantastic. And the walk to the beach is amazing. The BEACH! Location is fantastic. The landscaping is unprofessional with dead stuff remaining, and weird exposed soaker hoses on several gardens. Beautiful large coconut trees. Nice beach chairs. Free laundry with new washer/dryer. Very private feel to the beach and resort. A good place if you don’t need sleep or be clean.

The unit has an excellent location and the owner communicated very efficiently at first until I messaged re:sand inside the pull out couch on arrival, then I received no response. The unit was fairly clean overall but there was sand around the couch and inside of it. The pull out mattress had a sheet on it covered in sand. The living furniture needs to be replaced , the couch sinks down on one side and the chair is old with dark stained arms and leans forward. The bed itself was comfortable but has a plastic cover on it and had 4 sheets which slid around all night. The unit is older which is fine but needs updated badly. The TVs were nice ..The mops buckets etc are left in the patio by the doorway which looks trashy. The heating/ac is located in the bedroom so If you shut the bedroom door there is a drastic difference in temperature in the living area. I was a bit disappointed in the unit but it does sit steps from one of the best beaches in Florida

Lovely place

I loved being at the Cabana Beach club....it was just me and it was absolutely perfect. A very short walk to the beach and only a .5 mile walk to Harry's corner store for necessities. The unit was very nice and very clean. The ceiling fans could use a dusting but truly, it was a lovely place to stay.

Great 4th!

Check in was so easy! Just pick up keys and go. The condo as a little smaller than I expected, but it worked wonderfully. There were three of us for a long weekend. The condo was very clean. We loved the closeness to the pool and beach. The beach area was clean and quiet. We actually had a manatee swim right up to us! We were able to go to local restaurants and shops. The only suggestion I would make is to have a serving bowl and serving tray. When we bbqed it would have been nice to carry things to the grill in one trip. Thank you for having us! We loved the stay! I hope to stay again.

Perfect beachfront getaway!

We loved this unit & all it had to offer. Only downside was lack of a king size bed being that we are taller people. Otherwise, the location & amenities were perfect! Everything was included even beachfront loungers, beach umbrellas, & beach towels. I would definitely stay here again & rent a larger unit with my family.

Lovely Long Boat Key

We had a fantastic stay at the Cabana Beach Club Long Boat Key Florida. Beach front. Beautiful empty beach. Excellent location. Definitely returning!

Good place for 2

This place was exactly how it was described. I don’t know how 4 people would stay there. It is small, but was perfect for my husband and I. We enjoy eating out so a big kitchen wasn’t necessary for us. Great location close to the beach. Very clean and location on Longboat was great! It was a quiet spot for us to relax. Definitely recommend!!

Great weekend getaway

Nice older but well maintained property. Excellent beach location for short stay. Not too many restaurants close to property, take snacks and drinks, plus no stove in room ( only microwave)
