On the Circle and close to the beach

My wife and I enjoyed our long weekend in this great location. This condo is located on top of a commercial building that is part of the circle that forms the entertainment district. You are literally steps away from any number of great restaurants, bars and shops. We spent a lot of time walking the beach, which stretches for several miles, and is only a couple blocks away. Communication with the owner was prompt and friendly and the place as very clean and extremely well appointed. We will be back and will stay here again.

Awesome Stay

I really enjoyed our stay. The property was perfect for our needs. It was very clean. Well stocked. A lot of effort was put in to make the apartment very comfortable So grateful for the coffee We were able to go back and forth to the beach quite easily the shops and restaurants are around the corner. Hope to stay there again

VRBO Disaster

Extremely disturbing VRBO experience! Kitchen and bathroom were extremely outdated with original everything- 70’s cabinets that had a coat of paint as an “update,” 6x6 tile flooring w dark brown grout, and chipped formica countertops. Walls were covered with cracked mirrors and scratched/scuffed up paint, hollow doors had original 70’s hardware, and flooring was aged tile covered with dingy area rugs. The white refrigerator contained old food and condiments. Furniture was likely from a garage sale or Salvation Army. Access to the unit was through a tourist t-shirt shop or back alley lined w dumpsters and garbage cans. The access door had a metal bar gate over it. The musty, concrete stairwell up to the unit was beyond creepy. We felt extremely unsafe! When we contacted the host to let him know we weren’t comfortable staying there, he was extremely defensive and accusatory of our intentions. He sent us off with a “I’m sorry you feel that way” and “safe travels home” as we headed out with a 2 1/2 hour drive ahead of us. Can’t help but think we were victims of a scam.

Rooftop Relaxation

This property met all our expectations for a party of 4. You might hesitate at having to enter the property through an alley but it is very safe and is as good as pictured. The beds in the two bedrooms are very comfortable and the rooms are spacious. The kitchen is well stocked for preparing meals and the living room is comfortably furnished. The best feature is the rooftop patio area. Great for catching the morning sun and relaxing with cocktails while taking in the evening sound of St. Arrmand Circle. The property owner, Chad, did a great job in communicating with us. Our stay was scheduled just six weeks after Sarasota had taken a direct hit from Hurricane Milton. As he would say, he was very transparent about the damage his property had experienced and the damage to the beaches and businesses in the area. Beaches were open, businesses in the circle are working to fully reopen and his property was in great shape. You would never know the ground floor entrance area had 2 to 3 feet of water just two months earlier. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a unique experience while visiting Sarasota. We are looking forward to a return visit as businesses fully reopen on St. Armand Circle.

Mini break

Myself, husband and 19 year old son enjoyed a 3 night stay . The accommodation was perfect. Location fantastic and all the facilities left to use beach buggy, chairs. Shampoo shower gel. Plenty of fresh towels.All the kitchen equipment and condiments to use was fantastic.. very responsive host answered any questions we had straight away. We would not hesitate to book again.

Living Easy in the Speak Easy

We loved our stay at the Speak Easy (so much that we wish we could keep it a secret like a true Speak Easy). We have no doubt that it will soon be booked years in advance. Chad was so easy to communicate with through the entire pre-vacation process and made us feel so comfortable and appreciated as renters. This place is a true gem and we can't wait to stay here again next year. I know we'll have to book early!

This was the perfect spot in St. Armand’s circle, walking distance to all the restaurants and shops plus a very short walk to the beach. The apartment is so cutely decorated and well equipped with all the beach features you need. Miss hanging out in that terrace with my friends, want to make this a yearly tradition.

"Very convenient to Armand Circle, nice to have two large bedrooms and large eat-in kitchen. Clean and quiet! I was initially concerned about the back entrance but I always felt safe.

Excellent Property

We enjoyed our stay. Owner provided supplies and we really enjoyed walking to the beach with cart, collet and lawn chairs! Overall, we would be very happy to return. A lot to do around there and parking was not difficult and was inexpensive.

A couple of hours before arriving on Wednesday, May 15th the Host sent a message through VRBO letting me know the AC wasn’t working. A part needed to be ordered. When we arrived and opened the door it was musty and hot. There were five box fans and a small ac window unit in a hallway. My husband was on Sarasota on business when he got back on Thursday evening and still no AC he said we are leaving

Fantastic stay

Our family of four had an amazing stay over March break(Parents and a 6 & 8 year old). The location is perfect, 5 mins from the beach and 1 min from St Armand’s circle. The location could not be any more ideal for a family, we dined out at local family restaurants, used the kitchen to cook meals when it was convenient and visited the beach each morning to search for shells. We picked the location randomly and really hit the jack pot. Our host was very responsive and accommodating, particularly with an early check in and had some food supplies to tide us over until we got to a supermarket. Very clean, spacious apartment, comfortable beds, with everything you could possibly need for a short stay. Parking was easy(and free) once you follow the directions provided. 10 out of 10 stay.

Spring Break

Chad is very quick to communicate and had the house stocked with essentials for the kitchen, bath and the beach. The record player, yoga maps, weights and boxing gloves are a nice touch. The location is excellent - next to all the restaurants/shopping and a short walk to the beach. The place only has one bathroom, but we made it work without a problem.

Great location, wonderfully appointed!

We had a wonderful experience at the Beachy Speakeasy. Chad has created a wonderful space in which you can relax, enjoy the shopping nearby and unwind from travel. Thoughtful details abound in the unique space above St. Armand's Circle. The outdoor space is phenomenal. Lido Beach is just a short walk, and all of the tools to enjoy it are right there in the unit: chairs, wagon, umbrella. Sarasota's new trolley service made getting back and forth to downtown a breeze. Chad's communication was clear and we knew exactly what to expect throughout our stay. Would definitely stay there again!

A Week in St. Armands Circle

WE thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Beachy Speakeasy. The apartment was great, the location is amazing if you want to be in the thick of the restaurants/stores/more, the little extras were a bonus, and our host Chad was extraordinarily responsive when we had questions or requests. Great stay! Will definitely be back!

I look forward to my next stay at the beachy speakeasy. I felt very much at home in this cute two bedroom condo with fully stocked kitchen. The host has truly thought of everything, and the details were duly noted! I was especially impressed with the variety of condiments available for my Nespresso latte (e.g raw local honey etc.) I bought a few groceries and was able to cook and eat most of my meals at home because the host has a fully stocked kitchen with pots and pans and a variety of appliances like a crock pot, a toaster, a blender, espresso machine, coffee maker, coffee bean grinder and water filter pitcher just to name a few. I felt very at home with these details that I didn't even realize made such a difference until I was away from home!! The bed was really comfortable and it was very quiet which is important to me! Great strong wi-fi and the entire condo is set up with music receivers so that you can listen to music throughout the house and there are phone chargers available in every room. They even have a record player with some old school records if you're feeling nostalgic! I was able to do some yoga out on the rooftop which was really nice on a beautiful day. The host was very helpful when I had a few questions prior to check in, but they also provided ample information, instructions in the "condo manual" so that I could enjoy my privacy during my vacation and didn't need to reach the host again. I would highly recommend staying here. ~M. Donnelly

The location was great for shopping and dining within St. Armand Circle. The bedrooms were very nice and beds very comfortable. We didn’t use the kitchen but it was large and well equipped. A lot of little extras that make a difference like: bathroom amenities including mouthwash, toothbrush and soaps. Anything you would need for the beach including sunscreen. There were plenty of sodas and even beer in the fridge when we arrived as well as a Nespresso machine with pods. There were a few minor things that needed repair like the toilet paper holder and a missing towel holder in the bathroom. The entrance to the apartment is odd in that it’s in the back of an alley by the garbage dumpster with a bit of a rough entrance that includes 2 flights of cement stairs to reach the actual apartment and there is no designated parking. Parking was a bit of an issue as you could park on one street 8pm-8am free of charge and then hourly parking during the day, so it was a bit of a hassle moving the car every 12 hours. It was a fun time and nice stay but next time I would choose convenience and closer proximity to the beach.
