Perfect location to watch the sunset. Ask lots of questions as we had a few mishaps throughout our stay. Our porter wasn't able to handle all of our luggage so we had to carry a suitcase up manyyyyyy steps as we were leaving. The info about airport transers is vague so ask lots of questions there. You can't flush toilet paper which is something that would have been good to know in advance. You have to walk a good amount of steps to get to the property - it was more than we were expecting which was difficult for my parents. The snacks and wine they provide for sunset are great!

Spectacular Santorini

Everything was amazing ! Maria’s communication on all aspects of the Cave House was exceptional! If we needed anything, Maria was quick to respond and organise our request. The porters who lugged our luggage up and down the winding steps, through the crowded streets were efficient and friendly. Our stunning Cave House was the most delightful experience, in an incredible location. The fridge was stocked full of cold water, wine and treats. Thank you for a truly wonderful time! My family and I will always hold the most special memories of our unique Cave House experience in Santorini.

Major water problem

The apartment is cute and the view excellent. However, our water pressure was very low the forest day. Second, third and fourth days we had absolutely no water, and the toilet didn’t work. Manager said “this happens sometimes “, and told us there was bottled water behind the tub to use. After 3 days of showering/shampooing with bottled water, and having to walk a ways uphill to stand in line and pay for public restrooms we had enough. Booked an early flight out back to Athens to have a real shower. We were tired of calling the manager and getting broken promises and excuses. (No apologies). We were not prepared for a “camping” adventure. Then had to work with VRBO and fought to get some credit.

Great Vacation Spot!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in Oia! Clean, comfortable, and a perfect location to enjoy the sunsets! So much appreciation gor Maria, our Host and John, our Porter! We did have a car rental close to a parking lot which made it easier to explore the entire island! Highly recommend!

The place was really cute. It was very well stocked. Unfortunately, the listing is a little misleading thought that it included breakfast on the terrace and wine in the evening. There was an outside area directly and steps that goes up to a private terrace. We thought that this is where the breakfast would be served and wine in the evening, that it is served with a hike away very steep steps and crowds of people so we were not able to enjoy this perk with this place.

If seeing the famous sunset is top priority then this is the perfect place!

The cute picturesque exterior is a very popular location for tourists taking pics. There will always be people right outside your front door either taking pics or sitting waiting for the sunset. This is either a pro or con depending. The property is an ok size for two adults and two small children. Ideally it’s for couples looking for the perfect spot to see the sunset. The spot is 100% perfect for that but keep in mind on the roof top deck there will be hundreds of people behind you also watching the sunset so don’t expect to have any privacy. There’s the lower deck where you have slightly more privacy to enjoy the sunset. All in all great place to stay if your objective is to see the sunset with ease. It is a small cave house so you have to expect some comprise compared to a modern hotel/house so keep that in mind especially for the bathroom.

Perfect Location

We definitely enjoyed our stay at the Helios House. The location, gets no better than this spot. You have your own private terrace which you can enjoy a nice breakfast, or cocktails and dinner in the evening. The views overlooking Ammoudi bay are absolutely stunning! Everyone who visits Oia comes to this area for the views and especially during sunsets...which at times are the costs you pay for this spot. You do have to deal with the crowds of people in the immediate area because of the popularity. And because it is perfect for selfies and based on the connection to the movie, a lot people stop by to take pictures. So you need to be informed that you will get lots and lots of people hanging out around this spot. However once you are inside the house, you do not see them or hear them hardly at all. As for the villa itself, the pictures do match up to what you are getting. Maria, the owner, had commitments in Athens. However she did make sure everything was well taken care of and made sure our stay went well. She continued to follow up and made sure all concerns were met. Daniel was our main contact and he did a great job, always there if we had a question, concern or request. The overall experience was again excellent and very happy we made this choice. Only a few things to be aware. The water pressure can be a challenge at times; but that's an area situation. I would also reccomend that both terraces need to be washed down more often. Other than that,a great time

Lovely cave house

We had a wonderful time staying at our cave house. Maria provides plenty of drinks and snacks for your entire stay. Communication was excellent. Everything was clean and comfortable. This is the most popular area in Santorini so there are always people outside the door taking pics of the view and that may be a negative to some. That being said, it’s lovely to have your own rooftop to yourself to watch the sunset while everyone above and below are scrambling to get pics.

Amazing view

Great location - one of the best, if not the best - if you want to see the infamous sunset of Santorini. However, super crowded area at that time of day so you don't get much intimacy from your rooftop terrace as you have hundreds of tourists overlooking the terrace from above! The spa is pretty far (5 min walk) if you are really planning to enjoy it, and there is no view from there. House is small but very special and well equipped. Breakfast is provided, which is pretty convenient. And Maria has been a great host, helpful us finding some snorkeling activities for our family.

An unforgettable stay in the heart of Oia

Perfect location in Oia! Maria was very responsive to all of my questions leading up to our trip and during our stay, even offering suggestions for places to eat and activities to do during our time there. Mustafa was incredibly helpful, gracious and attentive. The property was well appointed and the views were spectacular! We loved our time at Helios...such a unique property within a few steps to all that Oia has to offer.

Sunset views and charm

The private sunset view deck made this place extra special! Maria was responsive and made our check-in and out go smoothly. The breakfast items were a treat, as was the bottle of wine she gave us. The primary bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the provided wall chargers and converters. We wished we'd paid better attention to some of the pictures as we didn't realize the cellar room was accessed from the toilet area, the stairs and upstairs loft had quite low ceilings (ouch!), and the living space/kitchen were quite small. We also didn't realize the hot tub was such a walk away and only available during limited times. The location was unique. Loads (and loads) of people stop there for pictures, which was noisy but made for some fun people (and donkey) watching. It's down quite a number of steep stairs but close to a nice restaurant. The patio had a direct sunset view (no competition to stake out a spot!) and was quite peaceful in the morning (though the stairs up were rather steep). Maria's staff was very helpful with all our luggage and kept the place clean. We were very happy with our stay and would highly recommend Maria as a host and the villa. Thank you!

Spacious, clean, and terrace with one of the very best views in Santorini

Accommodation: there are 3 levels-the main floor with a bathroom, full-sized bed in a nook, dining table, kitchen; a loft up a spiral staircase with a bed, and a bedroom downstairs accessed from the bathroom. It was plenty of space for our family, very clean and well-maintained. Location: located on the path of steps leading to Amoudi Bay. From the terrace, gorgeous views of the Oia, especially at sunset. It is one of the best backdrops in all of Oia. The positioning of the terrace extends out towards the sea so your view of the white-washed buildings and windmills is far better than if you were standing on the stairs or viewpoints above. Many people took pictures in front of the door, which is one of the most iconic pictures you can take in Santorini. We saw donkeys with their bells marching up the stairs several times a day. Extras: the host left us cereals, orange juice, bread, ham, cheese, yogurt, and a bottle of wine. We made delicious warm sandwiches using the panini press in the kitchen. The couriers helping transport our luggage to/from the place were very helpful. Host: Maria is an excellent communicator. We reserved the accommodation for 2 nights but she had to cancel our 2nd night due to double booking. She ensured that we could check in immediately upon arrival and arranged our transport from the port but when we arrived at 1 pm, she said the place wouldn't be ready until 3 pm. These were minor issues but the place is definitely worth a stay.

Ah-mazing!

Our stay in the Helios Cave House was absolutely incredible! It was everything we ever dreamed of for our trip to Oia. The location was absolutely perfect and the view was UNREAL. Maria and her staff were so kind, patient and accommodating. We are so thankful to have met them and to have stayed in such a clean and well kept little place in the heart of Oia. We will be recommending this place to all our family and friends and highly encourage you to stay here! You will have no regrets- best little spot in Oia!

Amazing trip to Greece

Our time in Santorini was wonderful. Maria and her team were very accommodating and made the transfer from one place to the other so easy as they took care of all arrangements to move our luggage. Both places were very clean well equipped and comfortable . The Views from the cave homes were absolutely breathtaking and Unforgettable.

Maria and staff were very helpful during our stay offering snacks and wine throughout our stay and helping with things to do in Oia. Helios was a beautiful property with an amazing sunset view. It can be noisy at times as the front door is a wonderful photo op place for many. Definitely recommend this property.

Best sunset location!

This was our first time in Santorini. We wanted to stay in Oia because we had heard of it’s famous sunsets and it did not disappoint. Maria and her staff were exceptional. She arranged our airport pickup, who coordinated the check-in with María and her staff. Mohammed and Islam picked us up from the drop off location and took our luggage down to the home. Showed us the proper and all amenities. The property was in the heart of Oia. On the main steps to Ammoudi Bay with a balcony area and terrace with prime sunset view directly facing the water. Did not have to deal with the crowds or restaurants to be able to see the sunset. Wine and light snacks were provided to enjoy the sunset. There was a small kitchen area with light breakfast items provided. Daily housekeeping was offered. Very clean. Maria and her staff were available when needed and were very accommodating with any requests we had. Maria was also very helpful in answering questions, making recommendations and assisting with reservations. Staying at this property was a main factor in the success of our trip. Highly recommend it!
