A brilliant holiday venue

Just back from a week in Villa Mareneve with our family of 5 adults and 3 children. The villa is exceptional with all that you need for a family holiday. The pool was used constantly during the week, particularly useful when we had very high temperatures and good to cool off. Mara was an excellent host, we had some minor issues which were speedily resolved. We have no hesitation in recommending this villa.

Very Beautiful location, helpful rental contact with excellent communication.Not high season so some maintenance on spa ( disappointing) needed and touchy entry door key lock. Single bed a little too hard. Overall the family were thrilled with the premises and security for the Villa

Tolle Lage, aber innen nur begrenzt gut.

Wunderbare Lage. Spülmaschine funktionierte nicht richtig. Vorgefundenes Geschirr nicht sauber. Herd nur begrenzt brauchbar. Nachttischlampen ohne stromabschluss. Wohnzimmer zugleich Eingang. Aber bei gutem Wetter ist das Haus wunderbar und es liegt traumhaft. Pool sehr schön. Vermieter sehr hilfsbereit.

angenehmer Familienurlaub

Das Haus bietet genügend Platz für eine (Gross) Familie mit 14 Personen. Bei den Küchenutensilien wird es eng. Gläser , Tassen und auch Töpfe / Pfannen mussten wir nachordern. Das ist doch alles ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen......und " near end of live". Das Ambiente ist schön, störend waren Arbeitsgeräusche von den Nachbargrundstücken und auch ein Familienfest grad im Nachbarhaus ( der Vermieter!). Der Ort biete sich als Basis für Ausflüge sehr an. Der Garten und der Pool konnten von den uns gut und gerne genutzt werden. Auch wenn es den einen oder anderen Abstrich gab, es waren gelungene Familienferien.

Wonderful Stay at Villa Mareneve

We had a fantastic stay at this villa. The villa had everything we needed and was perfect for six adults. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking our meals and the patio was great for al fresco dining. The pool was a fabulous way to cool off during hot, sunny afternoons. The views of Mt Etna and the Mediterranean are amazing. Mara was an excellent host! She was responsive to all our questions and requests. There are pets (a dog and cats) on the property; Mara will restrict their visiting if you wish. We highly recommend this villa and will certainly look to stay with Mara again when we are next visiting eastern Sicily.

Perfect villa

We had a dream week in this beautiful Sicilian villa. We were a family of 6 adults and 4 children and we were very comfortable. The gardens, swimming pool and terraces were perfect for us. The photos and descriptions are identical to reality. We were even able to observe an eruption of the Etna, visible from the villa. Thank you to our host Mara for her welcome and advice.

Fantastic vacation!

We stayed in this Villa for a month. Absolutely an awesome time! Mara our caretaker was extremely helpful and always willing to guide us or translate for us when we didn’t understand. The Villa is beautiful! The pictures are very accurate. Mara’s parents made us feel very welcome too! We would definitely stay again if we visit Sicily.

Stunning property and pool. The hostess, Mara was so lovely and easy to get hold of. She happily answered all our questions and gave us wonderful recommendations for restaurants. Also helped my mum organise a birthday cake from a local baker. Could not have asked for more. Thank you Mara!

A Month in Santa Venerina

Exactly as advertised, beautiful property hidden away behind two electronic gates. The villa was as advertised and was an oasis. Mara, our host, was perfect. She was quick to respond to our needs and went far above what would be expected. One of our guest got sick and Mara arranged medical treatment for her. The living conditions were more than adequate although we would have liked a few swiffers at a couple of points of our stay!! There was a washer (which we used every day but no dryer) clothes were hung out to dry and came in with an amazing smell. The stove and oven were small but they were seldom used by us. Plenty of restaurants in the town and all throughout Sicily. Bottom line, Mara and the Villa were a "Once in a Lifetime" experience!!! We would highly recommend Villa Mareneve to everyone!!

The property was as described, very clean spacious and well located. Ideal for small group or family group. Property manager Mara was friendly and very helpful. Recommend having a car to get about and ideally located to visit other places and towns within Sicily.

Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett auch wenn Sie ankündigen dass die Müllentsorgung gefilmt wird. Eine Anfrage von uns wurde umgehend geklärt. Das gefiel uns sehr. Das Dorf ist sehr unscheinbar bzw. einfach nicht schön. Auch das naheliegende Riposto hat wenig Charme. Der Blick auf den Ätna ist hinreißend.

Wunderschöne Villa mit atemberaubender Aussicht

Die Unterkunft war großartig! Wir waren mit unserer gesamten Familie mit 11 Personen angereist und haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Küche war ausreichend ausgestattet, die Zimmer hatten alle einen tollen Ausblick, die Badezimmer völlig ausreichend! Alles in allem haben wir den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können die Villa nur weiterempfehlen! Nächstes Mal gerne wieder hier!

Beautiful Property but needs TLC

Villa Mareneve has the potential to be a really good rental property. It has lush, well maintained gardens with a splendid pool and views to both the sea and to Mount Etna. Mara, the host who lives in an adjoining part of the property, responded quickly to our questions and requirements both before and during our visit. The interior of the villa however needs some TLC. Various things were broken or didn’t function well, for example the cooker light, a blocked washbasin and plugs that didn’t allow water to stay in basins. Additional blankets were provided on our request after a very cool night, whereas in most properties these are immediately to hand. The lighting was old fashioned and inadequate, making the whole place seem rather dark. Solar energy is used for heating the hot water so there was never enough in the evening for showers, even on sunny days. Mara had to arrange a top up via the boiler on several occasions. The shower doors upstairs were difficult to close and caused leakage. The bed mattresses were too worn and not comfortable. Likewise the pillows were too small and uncomfortable. Better signage is required in order to find the villa. A small “151” on the wall, partially hidden by foliage, was the only indication but a prominent villa name would be of assistance. However, it is a safe location with electronically controlled entry gates, giving a feeling of security. Several reviews from previous years mentioned that the front door lock needs attention. It still does as it takes a lot of fiddling to get it to open! The owners are quite rightly concerned with recycling and we were diligent in putting waste in the correct bins. For visitors staying more than a few days additional bags should be provided for rubbish since separate bins were needed for 4 categories of trash. Villa Mareneve is in a quiet location and is conveniently situated for visits by car to Taormina, Mount Etna, Syracusa, local supermarkets and restaurants.

Large property, great location

Perfect for 8 adults (3 couples & 2 singles). Large rooms, ensuites for all bedrooms. Huge swimming pool. Any problem fixed immediately by our friendly host, Mara. Great location for Mt Etna, historic villages and beaches. Front door lock hard to operate.

Great house for a large group with great views of Etna

Checking in was effective with the host walking us through all the details of the house. The view was great with Etna in sight from the balcony. Everything in the house was as described with all AC in all rooms. The host was fast to respond to any questions or help with problem during our stay. We would recommend this hose to others.

Villa Mareneve

The Villa was just lovely and did not disappoint. The accommodations with each bedroom having a private bath was a big plus. We were 6 adults and 2 children and everyone was very comfortable and happy. The Villa and grounds were well cared for as was the wonderful pool.

Heaven in Sicily
