Beautiful stay in Sicily

We were a group of 14 and had the most amazing stay at Villa Etnamare. Nadia was very responsive to our needs. The Villa was spacious and clean. The pool was amazing and the kids had a blast. The area has great restaurants and it was a great base for our vacation in Sicily.

Quiet countryside stay

EtnaMare between Fire and sea is the Perfect name

This place was outstanding we stayed 12 nights the communication was perfect, the assistance for ANYTHING was ideal. The orchards and flowers, deck, fireworks (not their doing but we were there at the perfect time of year I suppose) were all to dream of when we get back to Canada. The only fault and it was of NO doing of their own, is the bees love the one corner of the pool (which is exactly as awesome if not better than they described otherwise). We were in the larger of the main floor units and it was perfect for our family of 3. We could come and go, work and stay or eat home or away, it all was a dream. I would 1000% stay again. Do NOT miss out on the 5 Botti restaurant their gate is beside the front gate of EtnaMare. Be sure to also get a tour and tasting at Murgo Winery while you are visiting, honestly couldn’t have picked a better spot for us, and I’m sure you’ll love it as well. Ciao and see you soon!

Erholung pur mit traumhaften Ausblicken

Sehr schön gelegen. Tolle Anlage, super Sonnenterasse und sehr nette Vermieter *in! Der Pool war noch nicht ganz am Start am Anfang der Saison, aber trotzdem konnten wir ein paar eisige Bahnen ziehen. Auto ist zwingend für Ausflüge erforderlich, aber versorgen kann man sich im Ort auch zu Fuß. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen!

Traumhafte Anlage mit wunderschönen Blick

Wir hatten im September das Glück, die Anlage (mit vier Apartments) und den riesigen Pool ganz für uns alleine zu haben. Die ganze Anlage ist wunderschön und gepflegt, nach unten den Blick auf das Meer/Bucht und nach oben auf den Ätna. Der unfassbar große Pool lädt zum Bahnenschwimmen und entspannen ein, wir waren nur einmal kurz am Strand. Unser Apartment war zweckmäßig ausgestattet und hatte alles was man braucht, sogar eine Waschmaschine. Schön wäre ein „Starter-Kit“ mit Spülschwämmen, Küchenrolle etc., Fabio hat uns aber ganz schnell helfen können. Generell war der Kontakt zu den Vermietern (Fabio + Nadia) sehr unkompliziert und angenehm. Wir durften etwas eher ein- und etwas später auschecken, was es uns mit den Flugzeiten vereinfacht hat. Als Familie oder Freunde würde es sich anbieten die beiden Apartments oben nebeneinander zu mieten (Verbindungstür und große gemeinsame Terrasse). Die Umgebung ist etwas abgelegen, ruhig und wir konnten gut entspannen, fühlten uns aber auch immer sehr sicher. Man kann zu Fuß in den kleinen Ort laufen (Supermärkte und ab und zu ist ein toller Eiswagen dort) und direkt neben der Anlage ist das Restaurant „Le 5 Botti“ - nur zu empfehlen! Wir waren fast jeden Abend dort, es ist einfach direkt „nebenan“, sehr lecker, man sitzt draußen und drinnen schön und Preis-/Leistung ist sehr stimmig. Ein Auto ist absolut notwendig, man kann tolle Ausflüge machen (Taormina, Etna-Wanderung, Catania,..). Was man aber bezüglich Sizilien/die Ecke um Catania beachten muss - Autofahren (gerade in/um Catania) ist eine echte Herausforderung, wir waren wirklich erstaunt den Mietwagen ohne Blechschäden wieder abgeben zu können. Wir sind schon oft im Ausland, auch in Asien, Auto gefahren, aber was wir auf Sizilien erlebt haben, war damit nicht zu vergleichen. Ein zweites Problem dort ist der (Plastik-) Müll. Überall an den Straßen, Parkbuchten, Häfen, Städten liegt unfassbar viel Müll. Da kommt man sich nicht vor wie in der EU, sondern eher wie in Indonesien/Malaysia. Italien/Sizilien scheint hier ein riesiges Umweltproblem zu haben und es scheint die Bevölkerung auch nicht wirklich zu interessieren, sonst würden die Anwohner sicherlich auch mal Eigeninitiative ergreifen - über Plastik im Meer muss man sich auf Sizilien nicht wundern.

Great place to stay

We had a great week at villa etnamare. It was very clean and Fabio was on hand whenever we needed anything or needed to know anything. We have 2 boys age 7 and 9 the pool was brilliant we all loved it. The views were amazing. Good local restaurants and a supermarket a short walk away.

Einfach nur zauberhaft!

Tolle Anlage, toller Pool!! Die Lage ist gut für Ausflüge geeignet, aber die Anlage ist so schön, dass man am liebsten den ganzen Tag am Pool bleiben würde. Im Apartment ist alles vorhanden was man braucht und der Gastgeber ist sehr hilfsbereit. Danke für die tolle Zeit. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Lovely location for exploring the eastern side of Sicily.

We had a relaxing stay. Coffee in the morning and wine in the evening on the lovely patio overlooking the sea. Spectacular views of Mt Etna from the pool. Nadia was very helpful with suggestions and recommendations.

Beautiful Setting

We were happy with the facility in the middle of nowhere. When we arrived the town was deserted and we thought everyone moved out. Our GPS wouldn't have led us there. Follow Nadia's directions. One would never believe that such a beautiful plac could be in the middle of that area. The place was beautiful and the pool was out of this world. Everything was clean. Loved having our own washing machine. Internet was non existent for the first 2 days until Fabio rebooted things and gave us another network to access, but promptly terminated that arrangement the morning of our departure. Location was relatively convenient to shopping, beach and highways.The views in all directions were spectacular. A/C worked well. Drip coffee pot was nice but we had to use paper filter many times because the filters were not for sale in Santa Venerina which had plenty of gas stations. I would suggest visitors bring their own filters. Nadia and Fabio were welcoming.

Wunderschön

Wir (mein Mann und ich) haben wunderschöne Tage in der Villa EtnaMare verbracht. Das Gelände liegt traumhaft schön mit Blick hinab auf das Meer und hinauf auf den Ätna. Der riesige Pool ist einfach genial (wir hatte ihn im September eine Woche für uns ganz allein) und das Grundstück auf terassenförmig angelegtem Areal ist sehr liebevoll und schön angelegt. Ein Ort der Ruhe und Erholung. Die Vermieter Nadia und Fabio leben auf bzw. in der Nähe des Areals und sind sehr, sehr gastfreundlich, stets hilfbereit und nie aufdringlich. Ab und zu ließ sich auch Antonio, der Vater und Erbauer der schönen Villa kurz blicken und brachte uns herrlich frische Früchte aus dem eigenen Obstgarten. Die Familie Monaco erwies sich als perfekter Gastgeber. Wir können Villa Etnamare sehr empfehlen und werden bestimmt wieder dorthin fahren.

Mooie locatie / vriendelijke eigenaren

Ideale locatie om lekker tot rust te komen. Kinderen vermaken zich bij het grote zwembad. Appartementen zijn schoon en het bed was prima. Prachtig uitzicht op de zee en op de Etna. Vriendelijke behulpzame eigenaren. Uitstekend restaurant op 50 meter afstand (le 5 botti) In het dorp is een redelijk grote supermarkt (Conrad) In Santa Venerina ligt ook nog een geweldige taartenwinkel (pasticceria Russo) en een destilleerderij. Op 3 km afstand is een grote manege, die paardrijtochten aanbiedt op de Etna en op het strand

Ein unglaublich schönes Feriendomizil

Der Urlaub im "EtnaMare" begann mit einer herzlichen Begrüßung von Fabio und Nadias Cousin Dario. Nach einer Einweisung in unser Appartement "Girasole" hieß es dann erst einmal, den Ausblick zu genießen. Das gesamte Anwesen liegt am Rande des Ortes Santa Venerina auf einem kleinen Hügel mit atemberaubenden Blick auf Landschaft, Meer und den Etna. Die Ferienwohnung selbst enthält alles, was es für einen schönen Urlaub braucht. Jede, der vier Wohnungen hat einen eigenen überdachten und schattigen Stellplatz für ein Fahrzeug. Und dann ist da ja noch der gigantische Pool, der nicht nur zum Planschen sondern zum Schwimmen einlädt. 25 Meter in die eine Richtung mit Blick auf den Etna und in die andere Richtung auf das Meer. Unglaublich schön. Von einem anstrengenden Ausflug zurückgekommen, konnten wir dann erst einmal die Seele baumeln lassen. Urlaub im "EtnaMare" heißt entschleunigen und Erholung pur. Da Nadia, Fabio und Dario im Nachbarhaus wohnen, hatten wir bei offenen Fragen immer einen Ansprechpartner. Super nette Leute!!! Wir empfanden es als äußerst angenehm, das der Ort Santa Venerina auch fußläufig zu erreichen war und genügend Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants zu bieten hatte. Dann gibt es noch auf dem Nachbargrundstück die Trattoria "die fünf Fässer". Gut und günstig. Super netter Service! Grad mal fünf Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Alles in Allem hatten wir im Feriendomizil "EtnaMare" eine wundervolle Zeit, umgeben von sehr netten Gastgebern und einer unvergessenen Kulisse. Somit ist die Messlatte für folgende Urlaube unglaublich hoch gelegt worden.

A delightful villa with wonderful hosts in a picturesque location

We stayed here (in the Girasole apartment) in late May and had a very relaxing and enjoyable time. The villa is lovely: it is modern, clean and very well looked after; the rooms are large and airy, and our apartment and its beautiful terrace had stunning sea views. The grounds are also super - we enjoyed walking around them, sitting by the pool, swimming in it and just enjoying the peace and birdsong. The photos on the website don't exaggerate: if anything, the real-life experience is even better! Our wonderful hosts (Dario, Nadia, and her father) encouraged us to take fruit from the orchard, so we got to eat fresh grapefruits and cherries every day (and we would have had oranges instead if we'd been a few weeks earlier), and we swam in the pool most days (in spite of it being a bit cold - it is a few degrees cooler than Catania, being in the foothills of Etna). At this time of year (and in August), Etna is quite cloudy during the daytime, but we could see it smoking in the early morning and late afternoon. We could walk into the picturesque village (Santa Venerina), where there was a wonderful shop selling local produce, as well as a supermarket, restaurant, fish shop, butchers, cheese shop (selling ricotta made daily from sheep which grazed in the villa's pasture!), and others; we happily cooked in the villa kitchen most days. It was an easy 20 minute drive to the Giarre-Riposta station, from where we could get trains to Catania or Taormina if we didn't want to drive all the way there (and parking was fairly cheap - just a few euros, but make sure to have coins!), and we could also drive to Etna with ease. One of the days, we took the Circumetnea train around Etna from just next to the Giarra-Riposta station, which was a very pretty journey. (Again, have cash to buy tickets - no cards accepted.) Other days, we just rested at the villa, enjoying the balcony, the grounds, the peace, the views and the sounds. The whole villa and village also felt very safe. We could not have had a nicer holiday, and we would very much like to go back again. We'd highly recommend it.

Magnifique!

Emplacement idéal, proche de la mer et des sites touristiques mais calme La vue sur la mer et l'Etna sont splendides! La piscine est top, plus grande que j'imaginais ... Nadia et Dario, les propriétaires, sont très accueillants. Je conseille sans hésitation cette location!

Tolle Anlage mit sehr angenehmen Vermietern

Wir haben uns während unseres Aufenthaltes in EtnaMare sehr wohl gefühlt. Schon der Empfang war sehr herzlich, Sonderwünsche (2 Bettdecken) und Reklamationen (kein Gas) wurden sofort erfüllt bzw. abgestellt. Dabei sind die Vermieter sehr zurückhaltend und angenehm; meine Frau bekam sogar eine Rose geschenkt. Die gesamte Anlage ist toll und weitläufig. Man hat einen schönen Ausblick von der Terrasse aufs Meer und kann von der Rückseite sogar den Ätna sehen. Der hat während unseres Aufenthalts sogar noch mit einem kleinen Ausbruch für ein einmaliges Erlebnis gesorgt. Der Pool ist richtig schön groß, man kann ordentlich in ihm schwimmen und nicht nur planschen, wie so häufig. Die FeWo ist insgesamt gut ausgestattet, wir hätten uns noch eine Spülmaschine und ein wenig mehr Stauraum in der Küche gewünscht. Auch ein Zimmer mehr wäre schön gewesen, der Platz reichte für uns aber aus. Nicht immer stabil waren das WLAN und der Internetzugang, in Anbetracht des kostenlosen Services aber durchaus zu verschmerzen. Insgesamt haben wir den Urlaub sehr genossen, können das Objekt absolut empfehlen und kommen gerne einmal wieder.
