The home was immaculate and well appointed. The view from the canyon rim was incredible.We used the property as a base to explore Santa Fe: state capitol, ancient church, history, amazing cathedral, arts.. We also explored Bandelier national monument, Valles Caldera, Los Alamos national laboratory history museums, and a road trip to Taos.Renters will need to be able to handle steps down into the house from the garage, and small steps inside the house.We had a great time and the house is incredible.

A beautiful house in a stunning setting. We greatly enjoyed all the options of indoor and outdoor, and the hospitality of the hosts. All was made available to us (though we accidentally dropped on large bowl that shattered. Karen was very gracious about it.). A note about steps: there are several ups and downs, between and within rooms, that can catch one unawares. Anyone with stability issues may struggle.Sunsets are spectacular from the deck, and sunrises from the top of the driveway. Communication, cleanliness, amenities were excellent.

Place was very clean, with an amazing view, and isolated which is just what we wanted. Check in was pretty good. Definitely a little scary coming up the mountain at night, and if it were to rain, could be dangerous. Definitely not Uber friendly. Kitchen was well equipped for making breakfast with friends with finds from the Saturday farmers market.

Staying in this home was a true retreat. It was absolutely gorgeous, and the hosts were incredibly responsive and lovely. We loved the views, the hummingbirds, and the warmth of the home. We had a late arrival, which made the long winding road a bit intimidating, so I would recommend arriving during daylight if at all possible.

We stayed for two weeks and truly enjoyed the house and grounds. It is located on a lovely hilltop with expansive views of the valley and mountains. We enjoyed the decks and outdoor areas, and listening/watching the birds. The house was very well appointed and beds were very comfortable Our hosts were very accessible and communicative.

Beautiful home and scenery

Lovely home, spectacular mountain views and well maintained gardens. We thoroughly enjoyed Karen and Doug’s lovely home and its amenities. Not far from Santa Fe and other popular destinations. The drive up the mountain can be daunting but we were so glad we had perfect weather and didn’t have to deal with heavy rain or snow. Thank you!

This was our second year at this property. The house is beautiful, comfortable and very roomy. The highlight for us is the wrap around deck and the views it provides. The gas fire pit is ideal for early morning coffee and night time star gazing. When the deck heats up in the afternoon the 2 patios on the front side are perfect.

Beautiful house, stunning views

A beautifully appointed house in a great setting. The porch overlooking the valley and mountains was stunning, additionally there were two other patios at the front door and side of the house. Very comfortable and spacious rooms. Be prepared for the 1/2 mile windy road up to the property. The hosts were very responsive to questions. We had a wonderful and relaxing time.

Amazing property!

We couldn’t have been happier with this amazing Santa Fe property! Our stay was the perfect relaxing getaway… truly magical. Amazing views and such a peaceful environment. The house was exceptionally well-appointed, equipped with every amenity we could think of and then some! The beautiful art throughout the property added a special touch, not to mention all the awesome outdoor sitting areas. Karen was an incredibly attentive host, making sure we had everything we needed for a memorable stay. The quiet surroundings in nature, created an idyllic retreat. We never wanted to leave and are already looking forward to our next visit. 100% recommend this property—it's a gem!

This was truly a remarkable property. Quiet location with spectacular views. Beautiful home with EVERY possible thing you need for your getaway. Close enough to Santa Fe but still far enough to be as isolated as you want. We were looking for peace and quiet for relaxing and reading and we got what we wanted.

Oasis in the desert.

This house is simply perfect. Every amenity you could imagine. Very comfortable, private and luxurious. The views are stunning, furniture very comfortable and the kitchen is functions perfectly. Location is excellent for hiking trips, restaurants and the Santa Fe Plaza. We would have extended our stay if we had the time. Would 100% recommend this beautiful oasis and we hope to return soon!

Beautiful Mountain Home

A group of 4 women enjoyed several days at this beautiful mountain home. There is a great deck with an amazing view for enjoying coffee, meals, cocktails. This home and kitchen are incredibly well stocked with every spice, appliance, cooking tool needed. The home is comfortable, clean and well decorated. As others have mentioned, the road to the home is steep and narrow and partially paved. The first time driving up was a bit harrowing, but once we were used to it there was no problem. We rented an SUV. The owner is very responsive to all questions.

This home is beautifully decorated and meticulously cared for. The garden patio is lovely and the breezes on all the outdoor spaces are so refreshing. We all loved the privacy of the location and the outstanding scenery. Host was quite accommodating.

Beautiful vacation

My wife and I, our daughter and her husband, and their two children 13 and 19 spent a wonderful nine days at this property. The views on the deck circling the property were incredible. However, our favorite place was sitting with the family in either of the two front yard gardens. in addition to beautiful flowers surrounding us, the owners had wonderful, wind chimes, and a flowing waterfall that was delightful. Yes, the road leading up to the house was driven carefully and slowly, however, the arrival at the house was well worth the climb. It was probably the most relaxing vacation. My wife and I have had in the last 50 years. The kitchen was as well appointed as mine in our home. The host had every conceivable spice and item. Anyone would want to prepare meals. My wife and daughter are both excellent cooks, and they were very happy with the kitchen and it’s accommodations finally, the setting sun going down between the two mountains and the view from the porch is absolutely incredible each night. This is indeed a very special place.

Beautiful, secluded location, wonderful views, large deck, clean air.

Tis was a great location for a quiet getaway, close to town and restaurants while still providing serenity and privacy. Only downside was the mountain road to get from the main road to the house.

gorgeous home perched on top of hill w/ views of valley and Sandia Mountains

Wow. This place was amazing. Pictures don't do it justice. It's perched at the top of the hill with breathtaking Western and southern views. You can see the Sandia Mountains in the distance and at night when it's cloudy you can see the Albuquerque city lights reflected in the clouds. The home was gorgeous. The eastern side of the house has two gorgeous patios with picnic table, chaise lounges, water fountains, and shade. Perfect to use on warm sunny days when the deck is too hot. The space was perfect. Jacuzzi tub and bathroom with spectacular, gigantic walk in shower for two that was spiral-shaped. Everyone loved the place. the road up the hill is a dirt road and there are some fun hairpin turns. We definitely would love to stay there again.

Beautiful, well-stocked home with great views

This is a beautiful home. It is very well stocked with everything one may need. We especially enjoyed the three outdoor seating areas - a front patio, side patio and the large porch/balcony with fantastic views. The owners were very responsive. We accidentally damaged some of the property and they could not have been more understanding. The reason I gave "location" a 4 rather than 5 is due to the long, narrow, windy road that leads to the house. Otherwise, this stay was just perfect.

Spectacular views and quiet property

We loved this home in the hills outside Santa Fe. Beautiful property, lovely, comfortable home with all the comforts of home, quiet with no close neighbors, and spectacular views. Easy drive into Santa Fe from this hilltop home. Property owners were very kind and responsive. We would stay here again!
