Hello Laura,We are happy to hear you enjoyed our quaint hidden gem by the beach. We will make sure maintenance goes around and gets those pesky spider webs this week. They come back as soon as we seem to get rid of them! As for the 50 per night dog fee, that is the normal fee in this area. Sorry you were not told about housekeeping policies during checkin. We will work on communicating that with all front desk personnel. We hope you come back and give us another try, maybe with a room not close to the beach noise. :)

It was unfortunate that there was a bug on your pillow but due to all of our Camilla trees, we do have some friendly bugs that like to be on our property. We took the extra measure and called out pest control since you were so worried about what kind of bug it was and rest assured there are no bed bugs in any of our rooms, again it was just a harmless bug that likes to make our Camilla trees their home. We did notice that your bathroom was untouched but also had an inspection done and there was no issue with the bathroom/sewage or anything of that nature. I also double-checked the lights in your room and found no flickering, so not sure what to say. The ceiling fan just went out and we are in the middle of purchasing a new one, but we did provide the room with a nice tower fan so that you wouldn’t be without one. We do apologize that the carbon monoxide detector went off but as I informed you before, the batteries were dying and therefore it kept going off. Once we replaced the batteries it hasn’t gone off since. Also, as I explained to you on the phone, we wanted to take an extra precaution, so I had PG&E come out that same day and check the room and property for any gas/monoxide leaks and nothing was found. We have had many guests stay in this room after you and no complaints. We did offer for you to move to another room to ensure you have a comfortable stay, but unfortunately, you chose to leave. Regardless of the situation, we refunded you the remainder of your stay and an additional 20% of your first night's stay due to the inconvenience. In the end, you paid less than 350 in total for the night including the 50 dog fee. We try to listen to our guests and really work on any issues that guest report as we care about our property. We hope you find an accommodation more suitable to your liking the next time you visit Santa Cruz.
