Relaxing and fun boathouse.
The boathouse was well equipped and plenty of games to keep busy. Wood and satellite worked great. A little musty smell but upper deck was wonderful.

Best location in Sanford
Doing business with Michael was a pleasure, and you couldn't ask for a better location for ease of access to bars and restaurants in Sanford. Some noise and some lake smells are to be expected. Toilets are pretty wonky too, but the boat house bathroom is close by. Shower was great - spacious and plenty of hot water for 4 of us.

Houseboating
First time on a houseboat, very interesting and enjoyable. Had gale winds and could feel the boat moving at times, would have been tolerable with proper buoy. All and all it was a nice time, town was just blocks away, and very quaint.

Quite unique adventure
Stayed over Christmas to visit family and wanted something fun and different for times when not visiting. This fit the bill. Had a very enjoyable time. Hopefully next time mother nature doesn't send a freeze that way so we can enjoy the awesome top deck. Side note, the bike trail is great and an added bonus.

Terrific experience
My husband has always wanted to stay on a houseboat. We found this one and booked it. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the houseboat. It had everything you could possibly need for your stay. Michael met us at the dock and showed us around and how things operate. The rooftop deck is awesome for relaxing and catching a beautiful sunrise and sunset. Loved the experience!

It's was a new and fun experience. Great location and close to town that had something going on all week. Great restaurants and friendly people. The Riverboat luncheon cruise down the river was one of the highlights!

relaxing boat time
My friend and I had a very relaxing time on the boat. However there is a lot to do around the area. It's a small downtown and a few bars and good dinning places. New Smyrna beach is about 45 min ride. Wish the marina was more active with people and had a pool. But all in, it was a good stay. The Boat had very good beds. It was very roomy and the fly bridge was awesome. Great sunsets from the top. Cindy & friend from Grand Haven, MI

Love the Town of Sanford, FL
We are both in our 80's and this lovely houseboat allowed us to enjoy being on a houseboat in the Lake Monroe Marina and being able to just walk 3 blocks to the downtown Sanford. Last night was a magnificent sunset and rise of the full moon. Beautiful. . . Lee & Warren

Fun town and accommodations
We are 4 ladies over 80. Met in first yr high. We get together every year. The houseboat and town of Sanford was fun. Great places to eat and drink!!! Mike met us at the gate and helped with luggage; showed us the "ropes" and and how to climb the ladder to the deck and how to "flush"! Definitely recommend.

This was a great place for our family to stay during a family event. There is a great walking path along the water front and a very good restaurant within a few minutes walk from the boat. The decktop set up is a fantastic place to relax and talk.

Paradise on the Water
We enjoyed a wonderful weekend on this lovely houseboat. Michael was very helpful and attentive. The place was well equipped and an easy walk into town. In fact we parked our truck at the start of our stay and didn't need it until we left. Our favorite place on the boat was sitting on the top deck enjoying the fire. We will definitely be back!

Dream boat
This place was amazing. Very serene and quiet. The host explained everything on the boat. Which helped a lot. This boat was equipped with everything, i mean everything! Perfect for grilling in the top deck in the shade. The AC was perfect inside the boat. Oh how I wish we stayed longer. We will be back.

Boat is great but owner recommended feeding turtles lettuce and i substitute corn husk then marina police raided the boat yelled at my 85 year old mother about it!!! Owner at check yelled at me and my mother as well!!! Totally Rude and Disrespectful to a guest and especially an elderly person

This was a vacation well worth it! The owner was very helpful and the place is really over stocked with everything you would and can think of for your stay! The beds were very comfortable and the A/C works extreamly well! Would love to come back and stay again!

We Will Never Stay on Land Again
I come down to the Sanford area pretty frequently to visit friends and family. For this trip, we were moving my mother-in-law up to NC. Staying on this boat made what was supposed to be a chore into a really cool vacation. Two levels: business on bottom, party on the top and they've thought of every small detail. The beds are super comfy and you get rocked to sleep. Who could ask for more?

Girls getaway. Top deck is awesome for sunbathing, watching tv, cooking on the grille and having cocktails. Your just a walk away from excellent restaurants. Will definitely stay again.

Wonderful location
Owner was great to work with. Houseboat was as advertised and so close to Sanford. We never used our car. The upstairs deck was great In the evening so we just got take out and enjoyed the view and breeze. AC was a little overworked on the hot days but Michael says he is correcting that soon. Would definitely stay again.

Why Knot
A creative place to stay; not your everyday vacation! I enjoyed relaxing on the boat, especially on the top deck and at table on front deck. Everything was comfy and cozy. The drive to Orlando and beaches are close by too. Hope to visit Why Knot while this way again. Thanks!

New Years fun weekend
Overall it was a fun time over a long New Years weekend. The facilities were very comfortable. Our weather was great so we never used the A/C nor the heaters. We had expected 2 bicycles to be available as mentioned in the description (so we didn't bring our own), but were told on arrival that one bike had died. Then later we discovered that the existing bike had 2 flat tires. The propane tanks for both the top deck fire pit and the BBQ grill were nearly empty...we got about 20 minutes usage out of each. The presence of the CD/DVD player would have been a good thing to know.

My husband, mother, and daughter had a wonderful and relaxing getaway! Just what we needed! Walking along the lakeside was beautiful. We enjoyed the Xmas lights around the marina and the wonderful warmth of the fire table above deck. The town was close by and we enjoyed the shops and trying out local breweries and wine bars. My mother enjoyed being on the water with her book and didn’t want to leave. Thank you so much for such a relaxing and wonderful getaway! You both were super hosts!

Need a Great Relaxing Vacation/Break?
We loved this houseboat. Just 2 of us but definitely space for 4! So relaxing, great amenities, local to everything you need. Security Gate so was nice to have at Marina. You really just a few clothing items and some food. The houseboat has soap, coffee, mustard, etc. The place was quiet and enough TVs for everyone! Just relax and enjoy!

Lovely and unique weekend away
"Why Not" is everything you want in a getaway spot on the water. Great views, great restaurants, Sanford Riverwalk, local parks, boat rentals at the marina, and absolutely great hosts (Michael and Rebecca). The cabin area is comfortable and has every amenity you could want in a vacation home including Dish TV, smart TV, fast WiFi connection, plenty of dishes and cookware, a Kcup w/ lots of coffee and tea selections, and a screened in front porch with dining area. The top deck is absolutely amazing with even more amenities and vacation decor that welcomes you from every angle. You feel like you're on your own private floating condo (well actually, you are!) Ample, covered comfortable seating, firepit, bar, upstairs kitchen (grill, sink, fridge) covered dining table, and open sky sun deck lounge chairs facing west on the very back. There's also a big screen TV. Adaptable from a tranquil paradise to watch the sunset, to a lively atmosphere to enjoy w/ family (especially to watch "the big game" of whatever sport you like!) Great place for a romantic birthday weekend for two, especially during COVID. Looking forward to coming back again! The technical skinny: BUGS: We did not have ANY issues inside or outside Why Not. There is plenty of Off and bug deterrent thoughtfully provided (but we didn't need it) MOTION: You are on a floating boat, but the marina waters were very calm with very little perceptible motion. You will feel slight movement at times, especially on a windy day. BEDS: Master bedroom mattress is extremely comfortable. Fancy pillow top type. Assume the guest bedroom has the same. BATHROOMS: Plenty of clean towels and shower amenities. Shower pressure and temperature were great. If you've never been on a houseboat or RV, the toilet operates differently. Brief tutorial from Michael and you'll be all set. KITCHEN: Outfitted with more than you could ever need. (We only used the grill upstairs one night and the toaster oven, and took advantage of the local restaurants-- plentiful in number and variety.)

Super cool experience!
I was honestly impressed by how clean a houseboat could be! This was a perfect getaway for my 13-year-old's birthday. We made friends with the turtles who hang out near the boat and even had a gator hanging out with us one morning. It was hot outside, but on the top deck it's nice and shady and you still get a breeze. This was especially a perfect way to enjoy a getaway AND social distance. All appliances worked properly so we could cook all of our own meals on the boat after one good grocery run. They even provided some masks in case we didn't have any (due to the COVID mask ordinance in the county) which I thought was a thoughtful touch. We would love to stay again in the future.

Great mini getaway!!
It was a perfect mini getaway! I felt like we were camping (actually glamping) on a boat! 2nd level was so relaxing during sunrise and sunset! They had everything we needed! Just bring clothes and food! Stocked with games and so close to so many attractions and that we were never bored!!! Inside was a little warm during the day with the heat and humidity of the Florida summer but the evenings were amazing!
