Again my apologies for getting your arrival date wrong. I do feel the need to respond fully given the rating you gave which I do not believe is entirely fair. There is a warning about the stairs being a compact staircase on our VRBO information site. There is a tap at the top of the beach stairs to clean your feet. All the information about the unit has been put up on our website as since COVID we try to keep paperwork minimal in the unit. The kayak has a place for storage under the beach stairs but guests rarely use it. Bermuda is a semi-tropical island we do have ants and roaches, generally if you leave food out or the doors open, they will find a way in. However, I do take “bugs” in the cottage very seriously and a thorough check is done at every changeover. You mentioned street noise, indeed this was mentioned in your previous review. As result of you previous review I realised that for our guest in the cooler months, who do not use the a/c, there may be an issue, for some, with noise from the road. As a result, there is now a fan located in the bedroom loft, apart from providing a cool breeze in the warmer (not hot) months, it also provides a “gray” noise to help with that issue. Thank-you for bringing it to my attention.

I am sorry the unit did not meet your expectations. We did have a record amount of rain and persistent high winds last year and 2 of the siding slats did come off and were subsequently repaired. The kayak was buried in sand on the beach rendering it immobile, and discouraging its use (and possible loss) due to said inclement weather. I received your messages about the ants, toilet, sliding door, internet and locks @ 5:34 on December 15th. I immediately came across but you had left. I unblocked the toilet, it was simply too much toilet paper. The sliding door had come off its track so I put that back on. The internet seemed fine when I checked it, not super super fast but more than adequate for the tv’s/firesticks and a couple of phones/ipads and normal general use. I checked the locks and they all worked properly, although the passive doors had not been shut properly. I do have a note of that issue in my introductory email and I gave you a further reminder in my response to your issues at 6:21 pm. I did not see any ants and expressed surprise as the unit was serviced on the 12th and no ants had been seen at that time. Whilst ants do come and go, particularly when food is left out, you stated “The kitchen is infested with ants”. Your statement did not reflect the reality I saw at the time. Not only was I very disappointed to receive this review, I was not very happy that you also did not reimburse me for the $200 I spent purchasing your transportation passes for your family. Furthermore, you were not charged for 2 additional persons staying in the unit.
