What an amazing experience! To have two private beaches right at your property is incredible. The area has large mature trees and draws a lot of birds right to your door. We spent almost our entire time just watching the birds and walking the area. We even saw TWO very large eagles right in the back yard (along with multiple types of herons, egrets, vultures, white snow geese, ducks, and so on). The owner is super responsive. The property is not modern and fancy like a resort, but rather it is like coming home to a beautiful lakeside retreat with the best views. We can't wait to come back and bring our bird book next time!

Fabulous glass house offering views of the water from both sides of the house--wonderful architecture. Loved the proximity to all the nature preserves and to the downtown of Sandusky. The house is comfortable, big, and includes everything you need! The main living area is open to the kitchen and has a gas fireplace that we gathered around to play games and read. Went in the winter--quiet and serene. Saw Trumpeter swans, eagles, pelicans, ducks, cranes, herons, and geese just on the drive in to the house. Highly recommend.

All of the communications were automated. I reached out 3 times, twice to the primary contact and once to secondary, about checking in early but never received confirmation if it would be okay.The house can use a bit of maintenance. A couple of upper windows would not close fully so there was a draft. When I reached up to try to close those windows, the level of dust and dirt indicated it has never been cleaned up by the ceiling. The gas fireplace igniter is not functional. The beds are low quality and not very comfortable.

The location overlooking the lake and the bay is wonderful. The kitchen has all needed items. The various sitting areas indoors and outdoors are really nice, and in spite of rain a couple of days, all had a wonderful time. Thank you.

Stayed here many years. Beautiful views of lake and bay, with large backyard and beach access. Nice open floor plan for all to gather. House furnished with bedding and towels and kitchen supplies. Owner is very easy to communicate with. We had a small issue that required his attention and it was addressed immediately.

The Glass House was perfect for our family. We traveled with adult children and a six month old infant. The property was well fitted with everything you could need if you prefer to stay in for some meals. The set up of the house was perfect to allow time together without feeling crowded but also provide areas of privacy for everyone. The access to the bay and the beach were perfect with both being only a few steps away and both having private access. Decks on both sides of the house offered beautiful views. A fire pit on the bay side was enjoyable on cool evenings. Our family would certainly return to this property at any opportunity.

This property is so beautiful and perfect for quality family time. The views from the main floor is just beautiful. You can see the lake on the front of the house and the bay in the back. You can hear the waves while sitting on the front porch. It felt like you were on your own private beach. The kids enjoyed playing in the sand and swimming in lake. The back yard was great for playing ball. Check-in/Check-out was a breeze. The host had instructions for everything regarding the home and how to work everything.

We had a wonderful stay! Loved having direct beachfront access to Lake Erie with the Sandusky Bay right in the backyard — the location couldn’t be better. The house was unique, clean, and fit our group of 8 very comfortably. The host was extremely accommodating and communication was excellent throughout. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

12 people for Cedar Point stay

We had a great time at the glass house. 12 of us had plenty of space. The inside was very clean and listing accurate. The front and back yards along with front porch were great for playing and sitting to watch the rain. We loved having the option of the bay and the lake. So close to Cedar Point made coming and going to the park and back throughout the day a breeze. Would definitely book again!! Thanks Doug!!

Highly recommend The Glass House!

It exceeded our expectations and Doug from Sandusky Rentals was great to work with. My recommendation is to book early in the year (January) the summer dates fill up quickly. From the Glass House you have wonderful views of Lake Eire and Sandusky Bay. There are beaches on both the Bay and Lake. The furnishing makes it easy for groups to gather and enjoy each other’s company. Wonderful house, another plus Cedar Point is just minutes away! We rented two houses on the Point from Doug and it worked out well for our extended family.
