The property was a lagoon and area roads were flooded. We were not warned about this. The Wifi was not working so I couldn't use my cellphone, the TV or stream anything. The bathroom door is too narrow the cover the opening so no privacy there. The gas stove did not have an ignitor so we couldn't get the stove or cooktop working. We tried using a cigarette lighter that was in the kitchen to light it but without success. My husband had to download WhatsApp on his phone to contact the property manager as my phone wouldn't work without Wifi and I had been the contact person. We informed the property manager that we would be leaving in the morning as the property was unacceptable. It was dark outside and with the flooded roads we couldn't leave any sooner. The property manager informed the owner who said we could stay overnight. I presumed the owner would refund our money, but the next day we were informed we would not get a refund. A very unpleasant experience for us. We tried to contact both VRBO and Expedia right away, but it was impossible to contact them from Belize. We will be contacting Expedia today as we are back home.
