Great place to stay if you’re looking to get away from the crowds. The host was amazing and responsive to our messages during our day. The food in San Pedro is amazing and you can’t get a bad meal on the island! One of our favorite places to eat, ended up being the hula bar, which is less than five minutes away from the house and has amazing chicken tacos!The views from the house are picturesque and you can’t beat them. The pier is private and we enjoyed sun tanning on it during our stay. The only downside is the beach isn’t really conducive to walking as there is quite a bit of seaweed that comes up in that area. Plenty of other beaches on the island to get to easily so it wasn’t an issue for us. We loved taking day trips up to secret beach and enjoying the water on that side of the island. I would recommend flying into Belize and staying there for a couple of days first to do some tours if that’s something that you’re interested in and then taking an inner island flight over to San Pedro for the rest of your stay. The cost to get back-and-forth from Belize to San Pedro can add up for excursions if you don’t do it that way. I would highly recommend getting a golf cart reservation through the property manager as we had issues when we booked through a third-party company and ended up having to get a golf cart through the property manager at the last minute.The property is easy to get in and out of and very comfortable!

Perfect spot to stay and explore the island. Set south of town, this place is the perfect way to have relaxing evenings outside the busier san pedro. Short golf cart ride to anywhere (make sure you rent one, you'll need it). Beautiful property with all the amenities you'd need. Host was very responsive and helpful. Wonderful stpot to enjoy both the sunrise and sunset (in February, anyway). Stop looking and just book this one, you won't regret it!

Wonderful Vacation Rental

The Box House was everything we hoped for: gorgeous views, comfortable, and clean. Communication was great both before and during our trip. They helped us book our golf cart and our snorkeling trip. We very much enjoyed our stay there.

Great house and great location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location close to town but out of congested zone. Host was very accommodating and responsive. Very private and directly on the water with own dock. I would highly recommend the Box House.

Perfect scuba getaway

We last visited Ambergris Caye for a family scuba diving trip in 2018 with our 2 adult children so to celebrate my wife's retirement we decided to return for another dive trip but this time without the kids. The Box House was perfect for the two of us. The box house is unique, two freight containers side by side mounted on concrete pilings on its own private beach. The side facing the ocean consists of large sliding glass doors that afford an unobstructed view of the ocean and lead out onto a narrow balcony that is perfect for enjoying a drink and game of cards or backgammon in the afternoon after a day of diving. The kitchen is small but perfectly adequate for our needs. King size bed was comfortable with views to the ocean. Bathroom and shower clean and worked as expected. Anyone staying here will need to rent a golf cart and the house is about 20-25 minutes from San Pedro. The road, especially the unmade part, is pretty bumpy but really this is all part of the fun of being away from the main vacation areas further north. The house manager, Jessi Betancourt, arranged a golf cart rental for us prior to arrival and we were met at the airport by the rental agent. We dove with Belize Pro Divers who I highly recommend. They picked us up in the morning and dropped us off after the dive at the dock that extends out from the Box House beach.The Box House was perfect for our stay and I look forward to staying there again on our next trip.

Unforgettable vacation

We really enjoyed the privacy of the rental! We booked massages, Tropic air tickets, and a golf cart through Jessi, the guest experience manager and it helped so much! We even needed to make a change to our return flights to BZE and Jessi took care of it immediately. Just to be forewarned the property is a bit far from everything so a golf cart is an absolute necessity. It takes about 15 mins to get to town via golfcart but there are some restaurants closer. There are power issues and we had several power outages, one was 14 hours (no fault of the property owner, just be aware) we happened to bring a flashlight which turned out to be very helpful! The only thing that was missing was a full length mirror, the mirror in the bathroom is pretty tall so I wasn't able to see my outfits. When it was clear weather you can see the boats at the Hol Chan Marine reserve and see Caye Caulker. There are Pelicans fishing off the dock all day which we enjoyed watching.

Quiet place in a busy town

Place is nice. Description was accurate. It’s a little far from town, so you should get a golf cart. Manager was very helpful with pointing us in the right direction for golf cart rentals and other activities.

Beautiful View

Everything was just as advertised in the listing. Great views, beautiful yard the inside was like brand new. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was just perfect. We watched the boats go by in the morning and the waves on the reef. There was even an iguana show everyday in the yard. Beautiful male and his girls. All in all it was a perfect location for privacy and all access to the island. Jessi our liaison was very attentive to all our needs and made everything easy. We thank you for such a wonderful house.

Quiet neighborhood, great views!

After spending three weeks at different locations in Belize, my husband and I wanted to spend a week by ourselves enjoying the beautiful waters of the Caribbean. This was just the ticket for us! Beautiful sunrises and pelicans, birds, and iguanas to watch! We shopped at Superbuy for our groceries and did most of our own cooking….it is a 20-30 minute ride into the center of San Pedro, however there are some other options around if you want to eat every meal out. Jessi communicated well and all went without a hitch!

Wonderful Getaway on San Pedro

The Box House is a perfect retreat with a beautiful pier to enjoy the sun rays! Plenty to do, see and eat in San Pedro. Guest accommodations were first class.

Box House Vacation

We stayed at the Box House during the holidays. It was the perfect place for us. Away from the busy city centre, on the ocean, with constant views. We enjoyed the privacy, and getting everywhere on a golf cart was a breeze. Jessi was there to answer any questions we had and helped us with groceries for when we arrived. He also helped us look into excursions. Our entire experience was amazing! We will be back.

Beautiful!

We enjoyed our stay here! The location on the south side of the island was great and away from the hustle and bustle of town. You definitely need to rent a golf cart, which Jessi facilitated for us. It’s easy to get to town by golf cart and fun to explore the island. The property is as shown in the pictures. We felt safe here and there is a cluster of homes surrounding the property, so you’re not alone.

Amazing stay

We loved our stay at the Box House. The views of the ocean were breathtaking and the house had everything we needed for our vacation. Even better than the house was the support from Jessi!! From arranging our flights to San Pedro and golf cart rental to answering our questions about the area and things to do - and even delivering groceries to our house prior to our arrival. Jessi was amazing and very responsive!!

Honeymoon stay

We had the best time at Box House Boca Ciega. It was absolutely stunning. We used this place as our honeymoon suite and couldn’t have been happier. The town is friendly, many fun restaurants to dine and relax at, and you’ll never run out of things to do.

Loved Box House

Great house, quiet area. You can see Hol Chan from the property and our snorkel guide picked us up on the dock. We loved our time here. Great support and communication from property managers.

Clean, modern, with a great view!

The house was as advertised. Very clean, comfortable, and an amazing location in a quiet neighborhood. The kitchen had every amenity needed (including sharp knives). Jessi's team was a huge help and made sure everything went smoothly, including delivering groceries before we arrived, so we could relax and start our vacation. It was the perfect getaway and we enjoyed every minute there.

Remote and Private Paradise

We adored this house! It is very remote (if you come definitely rent a golf cart!) but we enjoyed the privacy and serenity of this location. The palapa and backyard are beautiful. All of the home’s interior amenities are lovely and comfortable as well. Can’t recommend this enough!

Comfort and solitude

We loved the unique structure but when we got there, we fell in love with the view, dock, comfort of the space and the quiet neighborhood. All the amenities are provided and add ins were offered. The space was super clean and well designed. I’m just sorry we couldn’t stay longer and we were sad to leave. Love love love this property.

Wonderful Stay to celebrate our 20th Anniversary

We had an amazing stay at the box house! My husband and I felt safe in the neighborhood, enjoyed getting to know the lovely neighbor on one side, and spent countless hours on the dock overlooking the water. I would be sure to request the chairs be set out on the dock before your arrival. My husband had to carry them off the porch, through the house, down the stairs and down the dock - they're nice, heavy, comfy chairs so it was quite a chore. We were able to park our rented golf cart inside the gated property. Since we were a 20sih minute ride into town we loved the slower pace and seclusion in Boca Ciega. There are plenty of awesome places to eat and drink nearby without going into San Pedro, but you will want to shop in town at the larger grocery stores where the selection and prices are better. (We preferred Super Buy near Elvi's) Overall the house was perfect. My only suggestions would be more hooks/towel bars through out the house for small bags & towels, kayaks or paddle boards available to rent or borrow (the water is only 2-3 feet deep at the end of the dock so you'll want to venture out a little to swim or snorkel) and chairs already on the dock upon arrival. Bed was a comfortable memory foam, linens and towels were great and plentiful (4 beach towels also available) kitchen was well stocked and a 5 gallon water bottle was full upon arrival. Highly recommend!

The Box House was perfect

The Box Jouse was perfect for my husband and me. It is far enough away from town to offer some peace and privacy but close enough for restaurants and shopping. It's very convenient to all of the snorkeling and diving services as well. The doc was wonderful and is where we spent most of our time. There's always a nice breeze blowing. Jesse and the management team were wonderful. If we had a question he responded very quickly and the services like providing groceries and the contact for the golf cart rental were excellent. We plan on returning to the Box House on our next trip to Belize!
