We had read past reviews and knew we wanted to stay at Casia Linda. Though we do not speak German or Italian, and Linda and "her man" Alfred do not speak much English, we were able to communicate online via Google Translate. Once there, my husband and Linda each spoke a little Spanish, which got us by.
The apartment was large, clean, cozy, and had amazing views (you can see the village church which is located across the street and down the hill, and the Dolomites to the right, from the balcony). There are electronic darkening blinds throughout the apartment, which come in handy in the evening or if you need to sleep during the day.
Lungiarü is a tiny village. There is 1 mini mart (open 8am-12pm & 3pm-5pm) and 1 restaurant/pizzaria (we ate there twice....good food). Most people in the village speak German (restaurant menu also in German/Italian, though a young waitress was able to help us translate some of the items).
For an additional 9 euros, Linda provides a buffet breakfast. We did not choose this option, but instead purchased food at the Mini Mart and prepared our own in the apartment. The apartment has a stove, microwave, and mini fridge, so cooking was easy. There are all the necessities needed in the kitchen to prepare a nice meal. Please note, there is no dishwasher or oven; we didn't need these items, so found everything perfect.
I can't say enough about the greatness of Casia Linda. We LOVED our stay and I highly recommend it to those seeking a quiet, peaceful, scenic, personable, mountain retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded towns/cities.
A car is highly recommended as it is away from it all, yet close enough to attractions and other spectacular views in the Dolomites.
Thanks again Linda & Alfred for a most wonderful stay.
