Suzie`s Hilltop Estate

  • Bring the entire family or host your destination wedding guests! These newly constructed villas are located in the quaint town of San Ignacio. Walking distance to restaurants, local attraction, fresh market, entertainment, and the premier Running W Steakhouse. A perfect setting for a group -4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 private plunge pools to relax and refresh overlooking the Maya Mountains and the Valley of the Macal River. Tours and excursions can be arranged by our property manager.

    This listing is for our entire estate as one reservation. We built these villas to host visitors that want to experience the wonders of Belize`s jungles and richness of the Mayan culture. These villas were completed in August 2018 and we are proud to share them and our beautiful country we call home.

    We have electronic locks to facilitate your keyless and effortless check in.

    We have a property manager to assist you in all your needs for your trip, including airport transfers, checking-in, planning excursions, recommendations and any personal wants. We are here to make your stay an unBelizeable experience.

    The Estate`s location is truly unbeatable. You`re just a short drive or a leisurely walk away from the vibrant streets of downtown San Ignacio. Explore local markets, sample delicious Belizean cuisine, and immerse yourself in the culture and history of this charming town. Yet, when you return to Casa Suzie, you`ll find yourself in a tranquil oasis, far removed from the hustle and bustle.Across the street from the San Ignacio Resort and Hotel and the Princess Casino.

    The Estate is centrally located to all the attractions the Cayo district has to offer and a bit for every type of traveler. Walking distance to the heart of town. The property manager can schedule airport transfers and excursion transportation.

    Actun Tunichil Muknal, also known locally as ATM, is a cave near San Ignacio, within less than one hour drive from the villas. This cave is notable for the Mayan archaeological site that includes skeletal remains, ceramics, and stoneware. Also Tikal, the iconic Mayan Temple in Guatemala is only a 45 minute drive from villas. It`s a MUST SEE!
    Sleeping accommodations include 4 queen beds and 2 queen inflatable mattresses. Linens` are provided.

Villas are modern and nice. Location is an easy walk to town. Juan, the caretaker, is nice and helpful. Only negative is street noise and local dogs.

We enjoyed our stay here. We did the ATM cave, cave tubing, Xunanatunich, and ATV driving. Close to town so you can walk. Person on property to help with whatever needed. Gate that closes at night for security.

We rented the whole house and our entire family just loved it! It was exactly as described and pictured but maybe even better! The yard was very private and beautiful with flowers, palms and colorful birds! The beds and pillows were so comfy and loved the walk in shower. We didn’t cook in the kitchen but it would have been a bit of a hassle with only a cook plate anyway. The microwave and full size fridge were enough for our needs this time. The small pools were fine, but only one of us used them once. Check in was ok, just a slight problem with our code not working but no ones fault (needed battery) and between the property mgr (Juan) and the owner, they took care of it quickly! Speaking of Juan, he lives on property and is a pleasure to talk to. Very helpful and friendly. He’s there if you need him or he just quietly disappears into the back somewhere when not needed. I think he tries to stay out of the way. He was busy planting some bamboo when we were there. There are dogs barking from somewhere nearby, but honestly, just tune them out and it’s not a huge deal. The Iguana conversancy is literally across the street at a resort and we definitely recommend if you like lizards. Due to the location of Suzies’s we recommend renting a car. It’s up on a steep incline a bit from the actual town. We found plenty of places to eat and things to do. People are very friendly! We would stay here again.

Great for groups

We had four couples. Two on one side, two on the other. It is set up to be separate but the whole group can be together easily. Each couple gets their own space and bathroom with a smaller common area in each of the two units. We spent most of our time on site at one of the pools, which are great spots to unwind. There is a caretaker on site that is available at all times. We didn’t have any issues, but it was great to know he was there. The kitchens are small, no ovens, so preparing in house meals not much of an option. But the cost to eat at some great local restaurants is very inexpensive, and close by. Rent an ATV or jeep if you want to explore. The back roads are pretty rough. The hike up to Xunantinich is well worth it!
