This cozy cottage is close to the bay and across the street from the beach! It may be small but it has everything you need! Comfy king size bed, small kitchen and a t.v./loveseat area in addition to a 3/4 bath (shower, no tub).

Walk a few blocks to iconic Belmont Park to ride the historic roller coaster, make a splash at The Plunge swimming pool, or grab a bite at one of the many beachfront eateries.

Relax by the water, catch some waves, or explore there's something here for everyone.

This charming 1920s Mission Beach cottage is one of the original 3 homes built in this area of Mission Beach—and just 25 yards to the calm bay and 1.5 blocks to the ocean surf. It’s your ideal laid-back escape for beach days, surfing, bike rides, paddle boarding, sunbathing and boardwalk strolls. This studio unit is right behind a larger front unit. There is a shared wall. Note the patio area is exclusive use of the front unit.

Inside, you’ll find everything you need in a cozy, beachy footprint:

-A small kitchen area and little desk/eating area designed for simple, comfortable beach living

-One King bed and 1 twin sofa pull out bed

-One 3/4 bathroom with shower

Step outside and the best of Mission Beach awaits:

-25 yards to the bay – calm, family-friendly, perfect for morning coffee or paddleboarding

-1.5 blocks to the ocean waves – great for surfing, boogie boarding, or sunset walks

-Rent bikes nearby to cruise the scenic 5-mile bay loop or the lively ocean boardwalk

-Walk to Belmont Park, the historic Plunge pool, and countless cafes and local eateries

Guest access
Guests have access to the studio in addition to the shared laundry facilities located on the side of the house. Feel free to use any beach chairs or toys available on-site, though availability isn’t guaranteed.

There is no dedicated parking spot for this unit.

For alternative parking:

Mission Boulevard has street parking available (please double-check signage for street sweeping days).

You can also find free overnight parking just a few blocks away on El Carmel Street, especially near the Rowing Club area.

Shared Amenities

Shared laundry is located on the side of the house. You’re welcome to use it during your stay, just be courteous of others who may also want to access it.

Noise & Neighborhood

Please respect quiet hours after 9 PM. This is a peaceful, family-friendly neighborhood, but the homes are close together, so it’s not uncommon to hear neighbors or nearby activity at night (if you are a light sleeper).

Bedrooms are snug with king beds and limited floor space—perfect for relaxing, but not ideal for spreading out.

Parking Notes

We have two single car garage spots for this unit. Most mid-sized SUVs and smaller should fit but please verify your car measurements to be sure. Our garage door opening is 94" wide and 180" deep. However, it's common for cars to stick out of the garage about 12-18", leaving the garage door open (so it acts more like a carport). Please plan accordingly.

Please be courteous to neighbors and do not park in alleys, in front of neighbors’ homes, or in red zones (even just for 2 minutes!) — you will be subject to fines and towing by the city.
