2/10
We stayed here for three nights in late June, and while we were looking forward to our visit based on the positive reviews and appealing photos in the VRBO listing, we found that our experience did not align with those expectations. The “bungalow” appears to be a conversion from several living quarters of what was originally a house, and the layout presents some unique challenges. The parking space is located in an alley behind the building next to a 7-11, where we noticed some unhoused individuals rummaging through the nearby garbage cans, which impacted our sense of security.Upon entering the space, we encountered a strong odor of sewer and mildew that permeated throughout, which made our stay less comfortable. Additionally, with only two small windows, airflow was quite limited, and during the warm afternoons and evenings, the space felt particularly stifling. Although there is a portable AC unit, it unfortunately only blew out warm air, further contributing to the discomfort. We also noticed that the electrical outlets were loose, raising concerns about safety. While the space itself was clean, the persistent odor detracted from that cleanliness. For the price we paid, it seems there could be more attention to upkeep and maintenance to enhance the overall guest experience. On a positive note, the surrounding area is charming and quaint, with a short walk to the beach. However, based on our experience, we would likely choose to stay elsewhere in the future.
