  • Welcome to A Shore Thing Townhome, we hope to host you for your visit to San Diego! Please read through our detailed description below to learn more about the property and booking terms.

    This 3-bedroom, 3-bath townhome is perfect for families or friends looking to soak up the sun, surf, and classic SoCal vibes. This spot comfortably sleeps 7 and includes a twin XL folding cot, making it perfect for families or a fun group of friends. Rent both sides of the duplex and turn it into one big beach house! (Please message us to inquire about the second unit!)

    Some features are the dual pane windows that will make it quiet and cozy for your vacation nights! There is a washer and dryer and 2 car garage parking as well! The kitchen is fully stocked for meal preparation, dining and entertaining. The living room is equipped with a 42` flat screen, cable, (DVR/HD) and WiFi.

    All the amenities for enjoying the beach are included - beach towels, beach chairs, and boogie boards.

    PROPERTY LAYOUT:
    Level 1: Garage, Laundry
    Level 2: On this floor you will find the living room, dining area, kitchen, guest bath , and bedroom 1 (queen)
    Level 3: The second floor has two bedrooms. Bedroom 2 has two twins with an ensuite bath. The hallway between the two bedrooms has balcony access. Bedroom 3 is the master with a cal king bed, ensuite bath, large closet, and private balcony.


    THE LOCATION:
    Mission Beach is a laid-back neighborhood whose 2 miles of sandy shores attract surfers, sunbathers and volleyball players. Locals and visitors alike enjoy the paved walking and biking paths that curl around Mission Bay, a popular spot for water sports and family beach days. Casual cafes and eateries line Mission Boulevard, the single road that runs between the Pacific Ocean and Mission Bay. Nearby Belmont Park has tons of dining and entertainment options for all ages in addition to the world-famous Mission Beach boardwalk and Giant Dipper Roller Coaster! Just blocks away from the ocean and bay, you’ll experience the best of the beach!

    Be sure to check out all San Diego has to offer! You will find yourself centrally located in America’s Finest City with convenient access to the county`s most excellent attractions including the world famous San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, Balboa Park, Seaport Village and Harbor, prestigious La Jolla, historic Gaslamp Quarter and much more. There are endless opportunities for fun and entertainment!

    There are plenty of taxi cabs in the area, as well as the local bus system that makes stops frequently. We always suggest Uber or Lyft as your most convenient mode of transportation! There are also several bike rental shops up and down Mission Blvd. Or your feet can do most of the work in this small community!

    Construction Notice: As of June 2025, the West side neighbors are doing an active interior remodel.

    Garage Dimensions: 6`4 H/ 8`9 W/ 34` D
    Due to the garage`s location and the narrow alley access (common in the Mission Beach area), maneuvering into the space may require extra care, particularly when neighboring spaces are occupied. Guests with larger vehicles may prefer to use nearby street parking when available.

    Pack n play provided. Pack n Play linens and bedding are not provided, please bring your own!

    This unit is not ground level so the first floor requires stairs for access.

    BOOKING TERMS:
    Per the cancellation policy, eligible cancellations may receive a full refund less credit card processing fees. These non-refundable fees are charged by the payment processor at the time of booking and typically range from 3.9% to 4.7% of the total transaction amount. There is no grace period for Credit Card fees. Once booked credit card fees apply and can not be refunded.

    Primary renter must be 25 years or older. NO PARTIES OR EVENTS, ZERO TOLERANCE.

    Long term renters of 21+ days additional rules apply:
    Cleaning Fee is an additional $125
    Utility cap of $125/week
    Refundable Security Deposit $800

    Good Neighbor Policy: This home is surrounded by OWNER OCCUPIED homes. While we understand the Primary Renter and guests are on vacation, the home owners are not. Therefore, we respectfully request Primary Renter and Guests display behavior that is becoming of a typical neighborhood environment. Home owners across San Diego are banning together to eliminate the rentals of private homes as vacation homes. Please help us preserve our right to rent by being respectful neighbors.

    NOISE/NO PARTIES: Quiet hours are strictly enforced, 10 pm – 8 am per city ordinance. This property has ZERO TOLERANCE for noise, parties or loud music which includes any excessive daytime noise, cursing, yelling or screaming. Fines will be applied for complaints. Drinking games of any kind ie: beer die, pong, funnels etc. and music that is audible past the property line are strictly prohibited. Immediate eviction can result if these rules are broken.

    San Diego Municipal Code 59.5.0502 states that at all times; any amplified sound that can be heard 50 feet away from the rented residence is prohibited. Between 10 PM and 8 AM, even normal conversation must be moved inside the rented residence. Per SDMC 51.1004 and California Penal Code 415.2 noise violations can result in fines (Up to $1,000) for property owners and Renters if there are repeated calls for noise violations to one address. Renters will be liable for any and ALL noise violation fines charged to the property owner. Excessive Noise disruptions can result in immediate eviction without the right to a refund of rental fees or security deposits.

    Drugs/ Alcohol: Use of illegal/illicit drugs by any Renter, Guest, Occupant or Visitor in or on the grounds is strictly prohibited. Consumption of alcoholic beverages by a minor under 21 years of age is strictly prohibited.

    No Smoking of ANY kind: This is a non-smoking property, both in and on the property. A fee of $1,000.00 will be charged for violation of this rule, plus any costs incurred to remove smoke odor or damage. Smoking includes but is not limited to: cigarette, cigar, marajuana, cocaine, incense, or vaping. While Marajuana is legal in the state of California it is NOT allowed on this property.

    Properties are subject to exterior patrol by our staff and homeowner. If Renters are causing a nuisance, having a party, acting detrimentally toward the property, breaking the noise curfew or any stated rules and regulations we reserve the right to terminate the rental agreement, without refund, and immediately remove Renters and guests from the property. Absolutely no disturbances are allowed within this home or anywhere on the property premises. We also reserve the right to refuse occupancy if a house party is suspected.

    Our neighbors are very, very sensitive to vacation rentals as it affects their right to live in a peaceful environment therefore we will enforce these policies in exchange for the privilege of renting this home as a vacation rental. The City of San Diego has adopted stricter guidelines for vacation properties and bad operators will not be allowed to rent their homes. If the actions of the Renter and their guests are detrimental to our right to rent as a vacation rental we reserve the right to evict and retain any rental fees and/or security deposits and will report abuse to the rental platforms and will take legal action against Renter if their behavior results in loss of permits.

    Guest Occupancy:
    Occupancy: The maximum occupancy for this Rental Agreement shall not exceed the number stated on the reservation. Only primary Renter and guests accounted for on the reservation are allowed to be on the property.

    Age Restrictions: Primary Renter must be 25 years or older. Guests must be 25 years or older. Parents and children excluded.

    No Subletting: If Renter can not keep the reservation please alert us as soon as possible so we can assist in re-renting the unit. If the unit is not re-rented and at the rate of the current reservation Renter will not be refunded their rental fees.

    If excessive cleaning is needed, Renter will be charged $100/hour, or actual charges, whichever is greater. If area carpets are excessively dirty after check out Renter will be charged a $300 fee for carpet cleaning or full replacement value PLUS any loss in rental income at $500/night.

    NO DAILY MAID SERVICE: Daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. The cleaning fee referenced above shall be applied to the cleaning service after check out. If daily maid service is desired it can be arranged for an additional daily fee.

    Missing or damaged items will be charged at full replacement cost. Guest is responsible for all damages.

    Kitchen: Cooking at high temperatures can result in strong smells that permeates throughout the home and into the fabrics of the home. Excessive odors can come from, but not limited to, popcorn, fish, certain spices etc. Please open windows, use kitchen fans, and be mindful that this is a shared living space. Should a strong odor be detected upon check out, an air purifying fee will be applied.

    Check in / Check out:
    Per the contract check in time is 4:00 PM and check out is at 10:00 AM. Check in and check out times are strictly enforced, please do not enter the property early without permission. Disruption to the contracted cleaning company’s allotted service time will incur a fee.
    Upon Vacating, Renters and guests will follow the provided Check-out Procedure.

    Hurricane/ Storm Policy/ Pandemic: Mandatory evacuation by State or Federal Authorities will be sufficient cause for refund. Refunds will only be issued for the specific area and for the dates requiring mandatory evacuation. “Shelter in place” is not considered evacuation orders. Travel bans issued by the government will be cause for credit of funds towards future stay within 1 year of original stay date.

A fine July getaway

My family a I (five) really enjoyed our stay. The house is very comfortable and convenient. We made good use of the provided boogie boards and beach chairs. The master bedroom , with private balcony, was an oasis even within the house. I grilled on the BBQ while watching he sun go down. It's a relaxing place and we'd stay here again. Michael

Great place for Mission Beach stay

We stayed there for 4 days in August 2019. It was a short walk to the beach and to Belmont Park. We had young children so both were popular. Lots of beach toys, chairs and towels with the property. The one surprise was the this unit is a 2nd floor walkup, something we missed when booking. Its not the unit pictured behind the outdoor patio. This unit is on the other side of the house above the garage, on the 2nd and 3rd floors. We had planned to have my wheelchair-bound mom visit us in the apartment, but all those visits had to take place on the Patio. The Patio is shared with the other unit, but that did not cause us any problems. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay.

Great vacation spot in San Diego!

Really great place to stay in San Diego. Very close to the beach, close to all the main attractions, tons of easy things to do in walking distance. Place was nice and had a good amount of room for 2 adults and 4 kids! Only things to watch out for are that the garage clearance over the top of a large SUV is really tiny. We just managed to squeeze a Nissan Infiniti in there with 1/4 inch to spare! And getting into the garage with a long car is a 10 point turn. The kitchen is pretty well stocked, but didn't have everything we needed (couldn't find a cheese grater). Other than these things, great place to stay!

Great house! Comfortable and very inviting.

This was our first vacation in a very long time with my wife and two kids, our cousin also joined us for the week. We arrived to a very clean and well maintained house. We were pleased to find everything you could ever need supplied for you, in fact we realized we over packed ( this is not hotel living). The house was steps from the beach and not much further from Belmont Park, gotta love ice cream in the afternoon. Really appreciate Cindy and her staff for making it a great week by providing such a great place to call home. My family is looking forward to next year.

Amazing rental in Mission Beach!

We had a wonderful stay in this rental, it is clean and exactly as described. The location is perfect, just a couple of blocks from the beach and the bay. Communication with Cindy was great, she was very responsive when we reached out with questions. We can't wait to go back!

Great San Diego Mission Bay Rental

Great place in San Diego Mission Bay! Three bedrooms/three baths was perfect to accommodate 6 adults. There was plenty of indoor relaxation space and an outdoor BBQ area. The house was clean and in great condition. A two-car private garage was perfect. The beach was a short walking distance away as was Belmont Park and small local eateries. All beach amenities were available. Cindy was very helpful before and during our stay. We definitely recommend this rental!

Wonderful stay over New Years

My wife and 3 kids including a 5 month baby stayed here over the holidays. We had a wonderful time. Extremely close to the ocean and bay. Very close drive to Sea World as well. The house itself has everything you could want to have a great vacation. Very nice, up-to-date house with great kitchen and fixtures. We would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat. Can't wait to go back.

Graduating Girl Scout Troop 643

Our girls, some of whom have been together as Girl Scouts since kindergarten, wanted to spend their last trip together just hanging out. And hang out they did! The house was spacious enough for everyone to be together or find separate rooms and nooks to read, do crossword puzzles, play o their electronics, etc. They were literally steps away from the sand, Belmont Park, shopping, eateries an of course, the beach. The property had everything we needed - a well-stocked kitchen, beautifully decorated rooms, plenty of closet and storage space for luggage and extras, parking for 2 vehicles in a private garage, propane barbecue grill, bicycles (which girls rode all week), lawn chairs, beach towels and more. The negatives we encountered were quickly and positively address by property manager Cindy Velasquez. Ants invaded the kitchen so Cindy dispatched a pest control company. We had trouble getting cables wires hooked up for television so she sent in a rep from the local cable company. The only thing that couldn't be "fixed" are noisy neighbors and the general noise from the very busy and popular area. There was a constant choir of sirens along the main street. Neighbors below had loud toddlers. And neighbors next door were early birds - 5:30/6:00am risers. Our girls wanted to sleep in. Other than that, the property is gorgeous, is well-located for activities and met our every need. Our girls graduated this past June and vacationed at the property in July. They have already asked that we have our troop reunite every year at the same property. That speaks volumes. We highly recommend it and plan on returning.
