The reviewer should identify himself and state more clearly the reasons of his dissatisfaction for us to be able to properly address any of his complains.If not properly qualified, this review should be removed as clearly a fake.

This comment is quite disingenuous: The guest called us early evening, letting us know that the shower knob was broken: we gave her the benefit of the doubt (that she was not responsible, and found it broken), and asked if she wanted us to fix it ;she declined, telling our manager on duty that she would take a shower at ther friends' house in town. About the bed, E V E R Y B O D Y knows that bed preferences are very personal (that is why there is a multibillion dollar industry for mattresses with every possible level of softness, endless numbers to accomodate couples' different preferences, etc etc. We furnish our rooms with industry standard mattresses that satisfy most guest (as a matter of fact, we get a lot of compliments for our bedding). Last but not least, we are not trying to be ...anything. We are a very historical hotel in the heart of historic downtown San Anselmo. The building has operated as an hotel continuously since 1926. We do constant restoration of our rooms, most of which have been completed redone in the last couple of years, during the forced COVID lockdown. Most guests appreciate our property,and stay with us over and over. Few others, probably like this guest, definitively should stay at chain hotel

I followed up and talked to the guest (Lynn Jovett), who claimed to have received a poor service at check in as she did not realize that our main door was open (she thought it was locked).I personally welcomed her to the property and gave her check in and parking information. I have met the guest multiple times during her stay, asking her if she needed anything. Not sure about the window covering the window, as the room has a full shade, that can be turned to provide full privacy. About the breakfast: as by our policy, on week-days we do not provide breakfast (even if coffee, tea and pastries are available all day in our breakfast room). We did NOT charge any extra fee for breakfast, that the guest has probably had at a different establishment next to us. Paper tin walls? We have standard walls! That said, we are sorry our hotel did not meet the guest expectations, I am sure more modern, chain like properties might be a better choice for her
