We stayed at this house with a private pool and had a mixed experience overall.
On the positive side, the house was spacious, nicely laid out, and the pool was great. We also really appreciated the flexibility, as we were able to arrive one day earlier on very short notice. The neighbors/caretakers next door were incredibly kind and helpful – always quick to assist and even bringing us fresh mangoes, which was such a lovely gesture.
However, the cleanliness could have been better, and the biggest issue for us was the ants. We understand that ants can generally be a common issue in accommodations in Costa Rica, but during our one-month trip, we never experienced it to this extent. There were already ants in the house when we arrived, and despite being extremely careful (only eating outside, cleaning immediately, keeping trash away, and even buying spray and traps), they were everywhere throughout our stay.
Overall, a nice place in terms of space and pool, with very kind and helpful people, but due to the cleanliness and significant ant problem, we would rate it around 3 out of 5 stars.
