La Garenne is a beautiful fortified farmhouse dating from the 16th century, nestled among vineyards and sunflower fields in a tranquil hamlet in Charente-Maritime, western France. It is the perfect escape for those seeking peace, relaxation, and the authentic charm of the French countryside.



The Aulnay Forest is just a short walk or cycle away, and the surrounding countryside offers miles of scenic trails and tracks to explore. The nearby town of Aulnay-de-Saintonge, only 8 minutes by car, has everything you need, including a supermarket, weekly market, bakery, and traditional bistro. The historic town of Saint-Jean-d’Angély is just a 20-minute drive away, offering a wider selection of shops, restaurants, and attractions.



Jardin is a light and open plan gite decorated in a French / Scandic style. The kitchen is fully equipped. From the open plan living area you have access to a private rear garden. You also have access via French doors to your private front garden, which overlooks the communal garden with play area and the enclosed heated pools. From here you can sit and relax while still keeping an eye on the children as they play in the walled garden. In the front garden you have a table, chairs, and your private BBQ. The family bathroom is of a good size with a large rainfall shower and a separate free-standing bath.
