La Chaumière Gîte 1 bedroom

La Chaumière is our small cottage for 2 or 3 people — ideal for a couple, or for a couple with a child or a friend. It is also the only single-story cottage on the property, making it the most convenient for people with reduced mobility or seniors. It is one of the oldest buildings on the estate, and it has retained its exposed stone walls and cozy atmosphere inside.

The cottage consists of a living room with a comfortable sofa bed (for the third person), a fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, washing machine, complete crockery), a bedroom with a king size bed of 180 cm, and a bathroom. Satellite TV and free Wi-Fi.

Outside, your private garden with terrace, garden furniture and barbecue. It's a quiet, sunny spot where you can have breakfast and dinner outside.

La Chaumière is part of the Domaine de Rochebonne, our former family estate now a holiday retreat. We welcome a maximum of 9 families at a time, in a walled park of 13,000 m² entirely car-free. The communal heated swimming pool is open 24 hours a day from May 1st to October 1st. Children also have access to a wooden fort, a sandbox, swings, a badminton net, a football pitch, and a pétanque court. Pets are welcome (supplement €15/stay).

Practical information: the bakery is an 800m walk away, the butcher's 1.4km away. The nearest beaches are a 10-minute drive (Marennes, ideal for families with young children). The bridge to Île d'Oléron is 8km away, Royan is 24km away, and La Rochelle is 55km away. We will personally welcome you upon arrival and remain available throughout your stay.
