Little piece of Paradise

Great for what my wife and I wanted to do during our time there. We are on a working holiday and the location was quiet and serene with the bird song and the amount of birds flying close by quite remarkable. The view was stunning and the walks to the township and beach very manageable. We had to boost the wifi a little but other than that a good set up. The hot tub was superb.

High humidity, especially in bad weather situation

Disgusting musty and strong smell, especially in the mattresses and kitchen cabinet. Brown water, had to be changed, because of ants the house had to be poisoned every second day. there is a nice view an a nice terrace, but in the house a lot has to be renewed. Air conditioning would be very important to reduce the humidity. The manager helped us by cleaning (fridge, grill, water change), it was only superficial cleaned because they had problems with the cleaning team. Over all our stay was the price not worth, we left it earlier, because we did not feel comfortable.

Had a very lovely time at this basic batch, couple of little niggly things but overall all very easy and incredible views of Long Beach.

Awesome location & view

Wonderful place - house has everything we needed & the extra little viewing deck is amazing! View was awesome & location is fantastic - just a few minutes drive from the waterfront & beaches!

This is a true "Summer old school bach"

the internet speed was specular, fast enough for two gaming consoles and streaming video content from our Sky sport account at the same time! This place would be great for summer, we hired during July school holidays in winter.

Summer retreat

The property was perfect for our family made up of 4 people including two children aged 12 and 4. Close to all local amenities and with the beach just down the hill it gave us access to all the Bay of Islands had to offer. With the ability to come home and relax on the deck (or in the spa) with the most beautiful outlook it was a wonderful summer retreat.

Perfect chill zone in Bay of Islands

We finished off our 3 week vacation in New Zealand here and it was the perfect way to chill down before heading home. My husband and I have a 5 month old and the property was the perfect place for a baby; we had an extra room to put her down in and the patio/spa tub were perfect for enjoying the view while she was napping/sleeping. Communication with the hosts was great and the property matches up to what you see in the review. Thank you!

Beautiful property in tranquil setting

Thank you for such a lovely home by the sea. Russell is the perfect place for us and the location right above long beach and an easy walk to the town is just right for a relaxing holiday. Running and swimming there is wonderful too. We would recommend the round trip walking to Paihia using the Opua and passenger ferries. We will be back.

The views!

We LOVED our week in Russell staying here. The views from the back deck were stunning, and the rolling waves at Long Beach made for a great background noise. The hot tub was super relaxing at the end of a long day, too. The place was spotless and had everything my wife, 16-month-old son and I needed for our home base. Russell is a great place from which to venture out, whether you’re taking the nearby ferry to Paihia or exploring the lovely town itself (get breakfast at Butterfish, trust us). We’d stay here again if we’re fortunate enough to return.

Cosy property, with a lovely view. Beds comfortable, everything there to make your stay easy. MInor detail would be water pressure in the shower - not too good, however not sure if anything can be done about that. Certainly not enough of a priority to put you off the house!!

The view and location was great.

The view and location was great. We enjoyed using the spa. Water pressure in the shower was so low it took forever to rinse the shampoo out. There was a musty smell of damp in all the kitchen cupboards which was not very pleasant.

The property was even better than it looked on the website - if we had been completely housebound and unable to leave the property, we would still have enjoyed our stay, it was that good! Coming home to Dolphin View at the end of a busy day was the icing on a wonderful cake, esp the hot-tub! The condition of the property was a great reflection on the wonderful job done by BOIHH.
