Wonderful staff who accommodated our very late arrival. Room was clean and well appointed. The having to go up a few steps to get into the bathroom took a little getting used to, but when you know the history of the building it was understandable. Great place, I highly recommend it.

The Narrows is stunning! The property is beautiful with the variety of plants and well maintained grounds. The architecture was very impressive. I wish I would have been able to stay more nights. This is the most perfect wedding or event space I have ever stayed at.

The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed. One of the windows was difficult to keep closed. The bathroom had a weird little sink, more like a bowl than a sink, which made it difficult to use and let to water splashing everywhere. Similarly, the shower enclosure is too small or needs some sort of door, as the water is splashing all over the bathroom when showering. Overall, it is a nice place to stay and I would stay again in the future of in the area.

Quaint property. Room was unique and door and window locks ancient. Check in time was 7pm, but our plane arrived late. The receptionist was amazing and came in to open reception for us at 9:30pm. She was so accommodating and polite and even helped us with our bags up the stairs. She also recommended a wonderful little walk to Blue Spring...fabulous. We would stay there again.

Our stay was very nice and relaxing. The Host was extremely friendly, polite and very accommodating . Unfortunately the weather didnt play ball and we couldnt use the lovely outdoor setting area for a drink a x njog the surroundings but hopefully next time.

We loved that it was so quite and relaxing. We left there after a two night stay feeling very refreshed. Only thing that would have made it better was if there was a small fridge in our room Thanks for a great stay

If they provided a drop off and collection service from local venues (eg Ohaupo) it would be perfect, apart from that my partner and I really enjoyed our stay :)

The old rustic charm was great. The room design made it very comfortable. The only issues were that dining was a distance away. (Approx 15 mins by car) and there was no entertainment ( TV didn’t work properly). Definite 9 out of 10.

Beware, some rooms no fridge
it looks better in the photo!!!! If you book the basic, totara room, it does not have a fridge, so after complaining we were upgraded to a better room which was appreciated. The hotel needs a bit of TLC but overall it was quiet and receptionist was accommodating. There is no restaurant and the bar was not open which was a shame as I"M sure travellers would support instead of going to either Cambridge or Hamilton. I feel there is a few improvements they could do to make it a higher class place to stay.
