The inn was very welcoming. Nice pub, pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. Good beer, nice wines and good food. The rooms were clean - not huge but had everything you needed. We stayed two nights; the rooms weren’t serviced in between which made sense to me but my sister-in-law would have liked her coffee and milk replenished. Check-in was late at 5:30pm and check-out was early at 10:00am but we knew so planned accordingly. It was a good base from which to explore the area. We arrived on Tuesday and had seen ahead that they don’t do food on Tuesday evenings but there’s another pub a few minutes walk away that does so again no problem. We ate in the Olde Peculier on the Wednesday evening and it was very good. By the way, and quite importantly, the rooms were nice and quiet as they are separate from the pub itself.
