The worst experience I ever had in staying in a hotel. Its old and things are falling apart. Broken draws, no cutlery in the room despite coffee and sugar provided. I was left wondering how would I make coffee or tea. Toilet seat was broken and also the door could not close properly. No parking was available on the site as mostly was occupied by non guests who were attending a function at the hotel.

Happy Stay
The room we were checked into was not of an acceptable standard to me so on talking to the lovely receptionist we were offered a different room which was superb.

This is an inexpensive motel, but I would rather pay a bit more or find another option. Tired and dirty. The sheets were clean but had holes in them, suggestiing they were past their use by date. We were glad to be there only 1 night.

Very disappointing. Room was still a mess, only had 1 cup and 2 towels knowing that I payed for 4 people to stay. Sheets were dirty, tea and sugar supplies weren’t replenished.

Very poor run down facility.
When checking in there was no one around (and this was only at about 6pm). Had to walk around to find someone. The rooms were worn down, they smelt of cigarette smoke. Initially we were put into the wrong room. Very poor and run down accomodation. Only positive was hot water in the shower and Wifi.

So on the advertisement when booking it stated there was pool facilities and hot mineral spa which when we arrived were closed due to covid, but there was no notes or pre-warbibgs of this about the closure also our room wasn’t vaccumed and the buffett breakfast was a packed little breakfast. The bathroom smelt of old urination, had a cracked top and the shower had wear and tear damages which was not displayed in the photos when booking. which i believe is false advertisement!

Hot shower and good internet. Unfortunately that is where it ends. Run down rooms and smelt of cigarette smoke.

On arrival the property looked worst for wear and tired. Check-in was not very welcoming or informative. Room was as per pictures but heater and TV were not working. Transferred to another room then the fridge wasn't working, this was later replaced. Not a good rest from the party going on next door... And the Cody cans left on my deck.

Dirt on the carpet area at top of the stairs that went intouched for three days. A lot of people renting there so was a bit of noise. No cuttlery however, i was told that this was due to covid 19? Dealing with the managers was easy and they were accommodating.

We had a short overnight stay. Checking in at 7pm and gone by 7am. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was not to standard. shower head was loose from wall. Bathroom door did not close properly. Furniture in room average

The room and building are in terrible condition and very uncared for. Not at all like the pictures, and not even worth the cheap price. Left early in the morning because I wanted to get out of there

The receptionist is very friendly and welcoming. That's where it ends. The property is not as shown in the photos. It is very run down, dirty and what maintenance that has been done is all done on the cheap. Not worth the $80 I paid to stay. The pool was filled with rubbish, NOT just leaves. I should have left after checking in but was too tired after a very long day.

Should be better
The lady at the checkin was very friendly and polite. The breakfast room is quite big and they have a basic selection for the breakfast meal. The lady in the breakfast room is lovely, she is super friendly and absolutely polite. One of the reason we like to eat here, even just for a toast bread;) There is also a little pool area, with a hot pool and one cold pool. The room was really run down, the water in the shower and the washbasin wasn’t really flown down, it was jammed. Also the switch in the bathroom was broken, so the light/fan was running 24/7. It was a bit loud so you need to close the door all the time. Best part, we informed the guy at the reception that we can’t switch off the light, so maybe he could give us an other room, that wasn’t run down in that way. But he just said, yes I know the switch in the bathroom didn’t work, so that’s it. Be careful the heater in the room is super hot, you can literally boil eggs on it;) you switch it off, it takes a while but it didn’t get cold just warm (a bit). So the room has the right temperature for sleeping, if the heater is on, you can’t it’s like sauna.

The room we were in was sub-standard. No towel rack, no wardrobes, the cleanliness was dubious and there was no air conditioning, only a pedestal fan which was noisy and had to be propped up by us. I would NEVER recommend snyone stay there.

It was a pleasant stay at Four Canoes Hotel. Close to the city center and all the services. A good place to start your visit at surrounding places of interest.

Comfy relaxing enjoyed the pool only thing didn't have a fridge to store my food and drinks and had to have the doors and windows open most the time because of the heat...

Position was great. Was not value for money. Fridge went all night uncovered light fitting in bathroom was dangerous and against all safety regulations.

Hi Jan, All our light fittings have been checked and appropriate bulbs are used on site. Not sure what is the issue with the fridge as not all rooms have a fridge in them.

A bit run down needs revamp. Pool blew up and things in room ripped curtains. Carpet stained. Broken door handle. No fridge. Shower broke.
