Quite dirty and tired hotel. Staff not overly helpful. Tried to check in 5mins before 2pm and told to wait out in car.

Needs some serious upgrading maintenance. Pool tiles broken, air con not working, elevator not working for entire stay, one washer drier not working. Just needs some serious maintenance.

Property looks in need of makeover, felt stale and lacked atmosphere. Room clean and tidy but dated. Lifts were not working (was not an issue for me) and no restaurant or bar service open on the Saturday evening. All in all a little bit below expectations from what website indicates.

Staff was very helpful glasses was dirty we 3 stayed there on 2 cups for coffee Time for booking we were told there is aircon but there was only fan and the room was very hot

This is my go-to place. Rooms are tight and hallways can get dark (uninviting) but I always feel safe and comfortable there. Enjoy the pool and spas. Comfy beds. Cleaners do a good job with daily house keeping. Staff in general are very accommodating. Elevators weren’t working this time round but we didn’t mind. You get what you pay for here.

The hotel needs to be refurbished. I went there expecting a much better standard overall. Lift was broken....carpet outside rooms is worn. Bathroom sink cracked...carpet in room worn...towel rack had visible tarnish...I wouldnt stay there again

On our ground floor room there were insects so we didn’t use the cattle to make tea and there were no exhaust fan in bathroom and toilet so it stinks.

Dear guest thank you for your feedback. The exhaust fans for the bathrooms are automatically activated when the light is turned on so it would have been good to know which room you were in so we could look at repairing the problem. As for the insects did you contact reception at all to advise them. It becomes difficult for our team to rectify problems should they not be told however I do apologise for the issues you endured on this occasion.

Good location and that’s about it. Very old and worn out property. We stayed 2 nights with 2 kids in a studio room. Very small crammed room. Bathroom facilities are very worn out. Rusted towel rails, dirty/rusted bath tub. Restaurant on site doesn’t open for dinner and bar doesn’t have much choice. Great pool but hot tub wasn’t working properly

It was like a ghost hotel. Nothing was open in the way of bars or restaurants, or any amenities, everything was in darkness. The limited staff we're hard to find and when we did come across them they were unhelpful. At one point we just wanted some water and were told to either drink from the bathtoom tap or walk to a gas station down the road. If your facilities are that poor you should at least put some water in the fridge for guests. The hotel was very dated and needed upgrading. Out of the 5 guests in our party, not one of us would stay here again. One of the worst accommodations of our trip to NZ.

Nice location, friendly and accommodating staff. A shame the whole place seem very out-dated! Price we paid seemed a bit hefty. Leg also fell off one of the beds.

The website was misleading. Promised the earth, but underperformed. 4-star is not accurate, maybe 2-star would be more sufficient. Looked like maintenance had not been done to the hotel for several years. Staff were uninviting. Rooms were small, not fit for a small family or 3-people. Rooms not soundproof, so could hear everyones conversations outside your room. Flatpack furniture made the room more 2-star than 4-star. Eatery was not what was promised on the website. Covid is over now, so I would expect the maintenance, staff and room conditions to improve. Looking elsewhere when visiting Rotorua again.

Breakfast was fine. However, the hotel advertised on line that they had dining facilities. On arrival, I was told that it was closed. No discussion on reduced rate. I wouldn't have booked if I had known. Noisy, with several groups particularly loud.

I paid $90 extra for buffet breakfast for 3. The ‘buffet’ was cereal, yogurt and toast! Then we had to order the hot plate. Rip-off for $90!!!!one lady serving everybody… NOT ON!!! Poor lady was running around, service was good but quality for breakfast was terrible!!! Not going back and will recommend whanau to not go!!

Could do with more powerpoints for charging in foyer. Restaurant was dark uninviting and on arrival lights were not on and again uninviting. But excellent service and cleanliness

Just because the World Cup is on I would of preferred to watch Soccer on TV and also the restaurant to be open

Thank you for your response.We do have Big screen tv in the Hotel House Bar that was showing all of the World Cup Soccer games for our guests viewing.We do have specific times for our Restaurant times in the evening of which you should have been advised.

We do apologise the restaurant is not open for dinner but due to staffing it is a service that we had to put on hold until we are fully staffed and able to offer a great service versus a sub standard service. My room was clean and tidy, and well serviced. The bed was very comfortable. The corridors between reception and the accommodation areas were poorly lit and in need of new carpet.

Unfortunately they were short staffed so the restaurant was not available however, breakfast was available at an added cost. Needed a lot of TLC specifically outside. We had a pleasant stay.
