Our stay in Rome was fantastic. It is literally a stone's throw from the Colosseum as advertised. Marco was a tremendous help, connecting us with someone to help us set up tours. Marco also set up transportation from the airport to the apartment and met us at the apartment to check us in. He showed us all the ins and outs of the apartment and the neighborhood, showing us maps and offering dining suggestions.The apartment was the perfect size for our family of 4 (two kids, ages 17 & 20) with a queen-size bed in one room and 2 singles in the other room.He was also very helpful when I forgot one of his instructions for the washing machine. He was available to answer my call and show me what to do.The location is fabulous, with many restaurants within walking distance in addition to the Colosseum area that offered much to look at and a great area to walk around.Taxis were available within a block of the apartment, and Marco also suggested a taxi app to download (IT Taxi). We used it seamlessly to get to the Vatican for a cost of 20 euros.For our other tours that were arranged, the 3-hour golf cart tour picked us up at the apartment and dropped us at a restaurant around the corner with a dinner reservation. For the Colosseum tour, we walked the 2 blocks to meet our guide.One other thing—being from the United States, we do not speak Italian. This was not a problem, as Marco speaks very good English.It was a perfect experience for all of us!Thank you, Marco!

You would be hard pressed to find a more perfect rental than this. Location is unbelievable - truly mind blowing to wake up 300 m from the Colosseum and Forum every day. We walked around it every morning and night … and many times in between. Surreal experience. The apartment was pristine and set up like a home with everything you could need. Beds and linens very cozy. AC and laundry was so appreciated this July! Ground floor location meant no stairs at the end of long days - and it is a quiet & peaceful building. Roof top terrace gave a postcard view. Marco’s hospitality is truly top notch - his welcome book was so helpful for public transit and restaurant recommendations - and he kindly made sure we knew how everything worked so that life was easy! Communication was the best we’ve had with over 30 similar rental stays. Rome is very walkable - but if you need transit, bus 81 is at the corner and takes you to the Vatican. The Colosseum metro stop is only 300m away. The hop on and off bus companies all stop within about 400m from the front door. All this being said, this apartment feels like it is on a quiet and humble street. You. Will. Love it !!!

Amazing Location Roman Apartment

I can’t say enough about the location of this lovely, well appointed apartment, it is unbelievably close to the Colosseum, and located in a safe, quaint neighbourhood. The neighbourhood has good restaurants, an amazing gelato shop and grocery store.

Location and little comforts

A lovely home base for exploring Rome, mere blocks from the Coliseum with restaurants, gelato, 24-hour market and more in this little neighborhood. Thoughtful comforts like fresh fruit and kitchen basics in a clean first-floor unit from friendly and informative hosts (great communication). Would stay again and recommend to friends!

Best location, best apartment

From check in to check out, Marco was amazing! The apartment is just two blocks from the colosseum and had everything, air conditioning, fans, plenty of towels, dishes, pans, utensils, toiletries, a full size refrigerator. The apartment is spacious and immaculately clean. The bed was very comfortable. Easy to walk to restaurants, grocery store and bus stops. Stunning view from the rooftop of the city and colosseum with the sun setting behind it. Highly recommend this apartment to future renters. Five stars aren’t high enough!

Emplacement idéal pour un agréable séjour

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans l’appartement de Marco. L’emplacement est idéal, proche du Colisee, des lignes de bus et de metro et de toutes commodités. Marco a été très disponible et très réactif quand nous avons eu besoin de lui, nous avons beaucoup apprécié. Mettre du double vitrage dans la 2ème chambre serait un plus. Marco, merci encore pour tout.

Great Host!

Our 1st time at a VRBO was fantastic. The host, Marco, organized our airport-to-apartment transportation, checked us in, provided details about the apartment, and even gave us a map highlighting key attractions in the area. I accidentally locked myself out of the apartment on New Year's Eve at 8 o'clock at night, leaving my family stranded. Marco generously traveled 30 minutes each way to let us back in, and he didn't charge us for the assistance. Our time in Rome was truly delightful. We loved the apartment's location and, in particular, cherished the personal touch of renting someone's place—adding to our overall experience.

Apartment near the Colosseum

This apartment is very well located near historical sites, restaurants, grocery store and taxis. Marco the host was great. He provided us with directions and information which made our trip more enjoyable. He also made arrangements for a driver to take us to the port.

Fantastic in Every Way

Wonderful apartment in the heart of Rome. 2 blocks from the coliseum. On the non touristy side of the coliseum. Easy to find delicious affordable restaurants. Safe little neighborhood. Marco was extremely responsive right from the first email. From the reservation to the checkin and check out. We were there for 4 days and he checked in a couple of times to see if we needed anything. Unit had two nice bedrooms and a sitting room. Kitchen has everything you need. Nice shower and washing machine. Pictures shown are accurate. Marco was the perfect host. He met us on arrival and check out, explained the keys, gas stove, washing machine and getting around the neighbourhood. Marco allowed us to drop our luggage earlier than checkin so we could get to a tour on time. Marco arranged a driver from the port and then to the airport for us. Giovanni the driver was on time and a fair rate. (Transport can be tricky) He has a binder in the suite, that explains getting around by bus, metro, restaurants, grocery etc. We quickly found our favorite pizza/ focaccia by the slice spot, gelato, cafes and restaurants in no time. Pizza by the slice at Pizzería di Sforza Piero €2.50 per person Naumachia Risorante had delicious Handmade Lasagna at €8.00 Espresso’s €2.00-3.00 Marco left us a bowl of fresh fruit upon arrival. It was so unexpected, delicious and appreciated. The local oranges are fantastic! When back in Rome we will certainly look forward to staying there again!

Amazing location to everything. Very comfortable place to call home as myself and my kids aged 22 and 26 explored Rome for 4 days. Marco gave us so many recommendations and the binder with information was very helpful. Totally recommend.

Lovely apartment in quiet area

Lovely, secure location. Cute and clean apartment. Excellent communication. Only a block from the Colosseum but not in a loud area. Lots of nearby restaurants and 24 hour grocery. Would stay again.

This property was perfect for us. Cleanliness and readiness was exceptional. Communication with host Marco could not have been any better and he went above and beyond to assist us in our first trip to Rome. I would highly recommend this property. Availability of air conditioning was a great benefit on this trip as we coincided with quite an extreme heat wave.

Rome Visit

We had a short few days in Rome and found this cute little place. It was super convenient to the Colosseum and other sites. Marco, our host, was so helpful and even helped us get a taxi the day we left. We were a little disappointed with the lack of views. It was a ground floor apartment. We didn’t stay inside much so that wasn’t a huge issue. I would definitely recommend Marco as your Rome host.

A week in Roma

We have been to Rome several times but this time we brought our two grandsons, ages 15 and 12 for their first trip abroad. The apartment was wonderful. My husband had sprained his knee before we left and was using a can so luckily there were only 3 stairs before entering the apartment. It was perfect for the 4 of us and had everything we needed. It was extremely clean and very comfortable We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends. It is close to everything and the #81 bus stops just at the end of the block and we were able to get around Rome very well from there. We could not have wished for more.

Great location, bus stop right outside, metro, grocery store and colosseum just a few mins away. Marco was a wonderful host, answering all my questions before and during the stay and providing lots of useful information. We even had a cooking class in the apartment with his chef friend, learning to cook Italian style. It was one of the highlights of our stay!

Wonderful!

Thanks to Marco and Antonella for renting us this apartment! This truly was our home away from home. It had everything we ever needed for our week's stay. The location was convenient. Close to the metro, buses, and there is a taxi stand around the corner. We are hoping to return soon, as we did throw a few coins in the Trevi. When we do, we will definitely stay at Il Nido al Coloseo.

Localisation/Hôte/équipement au top!

Appartement en tout point conforme à la présentation de l'offre. Nous étions une famille de 4 dont 2 enfants de 8 et 11 ans. L'emplacement est idéal pour découvrir Rome et en particulier la Rome Antique car nous pouvions rentrer en milieu de journée pour se reposer. Hôte très accueillant et très attentionné. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié son contact et son accueil. Excellentes prestations de l'appartement. Nous retenons l'adresse pour un prochain séjour.

Accogliente e a due passi dal Colosseo

Siamo stati a Roma per portare le nostre ragazze al concerto dei Måneskin , l’appartamento a pian terreno pulitissimo e con tutti i confort, vicinissimo al Colosseo abbiamo raggiunto a piedi tutti i posti che abbiamo visitato ed anche il circo Massimo dove si è tenuto il concerto. Vicino casa ci sono diversi posti dove mangiare, anche un posticino dove abbiamo mangiato dei panini gourmet buonissimi. Marco, il proprietario, disponibilissimo ci ha dato tutte le informazioni di cui avevamo bisogno per spostarci e ci ha consigliato diversi posti da vedere. Lo consiglio tanto e quando torneremo a Roma sappiamo già dove soggiornare

Fabulous stay in a lovely apartment and great location

We had a fantastic stay in Rome. The apartment was perfect, and although very near the Colosseum still in an area that had its own character and was quiet (apart from very occasional late night noise from the Camden Town pub!). Everything was so convenient with shops and restaurants close by. But what made it extra special was the attention to detail from Marco the owner of the apartment. He was so helpful before we arrived - helping us to find a birthday semi-freddo cake for our daughter's 18th as well as sending through useful information about what to see and how to get to the apartment. The information in the apartment was so helpful - we tried three of the restaurant recommendations and they were all great plus we did the 2km walk around the area seeing the beautiful church of St Clemente, the Quattro Coranati convent and many other sights. We walked everywhere - a highlight was walking to St. Peters and arriving at 8.30 in the glorious sunshine, as well as appreciating the Colosseum at all times of the day and going up to the rooftop terrace at night for the view. I can highly recommend the Il Nido, and thank Marco for all his kindness and attention, and would definitely return.

Great location!! Really easy to navigate all the important locations from the apartment.

Apartment was great. Plenty of space for the 2 of us. Marco provided all the info we needed for our time in Rome. An iron would be great to add. Apart from that everything was fantastic!!

Excellent in every way!

Perfect location behind the Coliseum, steps from the Metro and taxi stand. This apartment is very clean, quiet and safe and perfectly equipped. Marco made dinner reservations for us, and arranged transportation. This is a terrific value in a fun neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again. A hidden jewel.

Enjoyable stay

We really enjoyed our stay here. Marco is very pleasant, helpful and responded quickly. We loved the location. The beds were comfortable. Rome can get hectic so it was really nice to stop back at the flat for a few hours to relax out of the heat. Essential amenities are all close by.
