We didn't really use the kitchen at all. It is walking distance to the Vatican, but it is pretty far from the other main attractions (Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, etc.). Most of the time, we used the bus system. It is close to a train, but the directions from Apple Maps usually had the bus as the faster or more convenient option. It is really close to a bus station. Maria is amazing. She is super responsive and helpful. She is very kind, and we LOVED working with her. The apartment is delightful. It is very clean and pretty large. It was very comfortable, and we were able to use the washer and the drying rack for our clothes. It was well equipped so far as we needed although we didn't cook anything in the apartment. Truly, the only thing that wasn't perfect was just that it took us a bit to get to the main city center of Rome. Otherwise, it was absolutely wonderful.

For a Family of Four

My family and I enjoyed a five night stay in the San Pietro neighborhood in Rome. The apartment felt like a diamond in the rough; it was a sanctuary from the urban crowded vibe that Rome gives. The apartment had ample room for the four of us. With two bathrooms and two bedrooms, we had plenty of space for our gear and then some. The apartment is well appointed from the kitchen to the furnishings to the bathroom amenities to the very comfortable beds. We made use of the washing machine and drying rack; we enjoyed a movie on Prime Video with the smart TV; and we kept cool during the heat wave in Rome. Beyond this, our host Maria was very gracious and nothing short of amazing. Her self check-in instructions, as well as the binder for guests, were detailed, her correspondence was on point and nearly immediate. I could tell she really cared about not just our stay in her home, but our time visiting a city she loves. We were incredibly grateful for the host that Maria had been. If you are a family of four -- or five or six -- who could use the amenities of home and an acquaintance with the heart of a guide or seasoned traveler, please do consider Maria's apartment on your next visit to Rome.

Outstanding place to stay and close to awesome food and transportation.

This was a great place to stay. It’s in a nice quiet neighbourhood close to so many things. A great restaurant is just 3 minutes walk away. It’s close to the bus stop or an easy place to catch an Uber/taxi.

Comfortable and clean but with a few quirks

It was a nice apartment to come home to at the end of a day of touring, but don’t expect everything to be perfect or of the best quality (e.g., bed linens). Our family appreciated Mary’s advice and concern for our well-being during our stay. We had a comfortable stay and quickly found our favourite places in the neighborhood.

Electricity problems

We got there on June 29th and stayed until 7th of July. First communication on how to get keys came late the day before arriving. After sending many messages to host. We got there and had to wait in heat to get in, key not where directions said they would be. First night lights went out two times but came back on after 30 minutes. Water in shower was just warm and on shower in red bathroom calcium was so bad water only comes out in a few places. Towels are ruff as well as sheets. The beds were very firm. The lights in the Victorian bedroom came on and off and flickered during the night. Seemed like a bad electrical problem. On Tuesday of our stay, we were sitting after having dinner out and the light went out. We were unable to get it back on until the next day we had to contact Vrbo but they did not seem to care just said keep contacting her. She did respond at 9pm wanting us to go someplace in Rome that was 20 mins away to pick up a key and then go next door to flip breaker. I was not going out in a strange country to someone who I did not know to ask for a key. If you only turn on two ac units, it will keep the power on but do not use anything else. She really needs an electrical fix with breaker in apartment. Great area and food around there was really good.

100 degrees, no power , no AC, had to wait 5 hours for a fix

The property was OK - as advertised- but the first night at check in we all just wanted a quick snack and go to bed. (Wife and two girls). Followed Maria’s directions to check in and was referred by her to a corner store. Turned on AC -was very hot as AC appeared off all day and was almost 100 degrees that day. Came back at 9 pm and all power was off (although all other apartments and hall lights were on. Flipped breakers to no avail- called Maria to find out there is a main breaker in her apartment next door - but the person staying there ( she is out of town), left for Dinner / night out and we would have to wait til they return (ie: 1:30 am) to reset the main breaker. In calls back and forth to Maria she stated she would reimburse us for the first night - which I agreed would be fair. We had to get up at 5:30 am next day for a 7am tour and after two days of travel and almost no sleep ( from Chicago) had another night of about 2 hours sleep. Since then it has been multiple lies from Maria and Vrbo on the first night chargeback. I should get my first nights money back and not be stuck in the middle of someone who is unwilling to work with me on this. It as Much about trust and integrity as the money and inconvenience. The remainder of the stay was Ok once the power was turned on. Even though I totally disagree with someone outside of the apartment controlling the power in our rental. I would be more understanding if Maria honored her word.

What An Apartment!

The host is quite nice and polite, but was not available when we got to the apartment. She said she has to govto Ukraine for a volunteer job. One of her bathrooms, the one painted in red precisely, isn't functional at all. It smells of mold and quite disgusting.The sink in that same bathroom doesn't drain properly. Imagine everything you spat out during blushing your teeth, steering back at you because the sink isn't draining. The washing machine is broken and leaks water. I believe the host is aware of the washer situation, and still told us to wash our clthes in it. What a pity! I askedthe host's cleaner why the bathroom is not repaired, and he said its a general problem the whole building has. It's not something that'll be taken care of soon. Only God knows when. Myself and my 3 boys just couldn't wait to get out of that apartment. Good luck to whomever wants to endure all that torture!
