Nice private hideaway. Well equipped cozy cabin with beautiful outdoor fire pit. 4x4 is a must to get up the cabin road.

What an incredible experience! The cabin we rented was the Taoist, and it could not have been more ideal for us. It is located close enough to the activity of the Red River Gorge that you can quickly get to any activity or location you want, and yet it is as isolated as you could ask for. The hosts have thought of nearly every single detail, the property was immaculate, and we had the most relaxing weekend. The single item to note is that the instructions clearly state the need for a 4x4 vehicle, and they mean it. Access is not for a two wheel drive sedan, and i seriously doubt the ability of an all wheel drive to navigate the challenges all the way to the cabin door. Still way more than worth the effort! We rarely stay anywhere more than once as we love to experience new adventures. This property may break our travel habits, and a second visit would be very welcome Kudos to the property owners for all of their efforts, it shows in the offering. Thanks so much, Mark and Aly

Had a great time in this nice cozy cabin. Was close enough to all of the hiking and other activities we were looking to do. Very easy and quick communication with the owners when needed.

Wonderful spot with a nice view. Very neat cabin and located in an area with lots of things to do nearby. Very unique experiance and cabin.

Overnighter

We weren’t able to stay for a weekend, but we were able to get away to celebrate our anniversary with an overnight trip. We checked in and immediately talked about how awesome the place and location was! After a hike and dinner, we came back for a quiet night around the campfire. Such a great place. We highly recommend

A Secluded Adventure

I couldn’t have picked a more perfect spot for our 20th anniversary trip. The drive to the cabin is probably the most steep incline I’ve ever driven, so mentally prepare yourself for that adventure. The cabin was perfect, clean and had everything we needed. While visiting, we enjoyed the skylight up the mountain and the hike down, the Nada tunnel and Toad’s Barn & Grill.

A Great Place to Disconnect

The Taoist was such a cozy place to discoonect! Private, quiet, well appointed, LIVE plants...everything you need to enjoy nature...when you are not "in" nature. The bed was SO comfortable and the two story windows were so amazing!

Super cute property. The kids loved it! All the things you need. Host was very responsive as we had no power the first few hours due to a storm the night before, but all worked out.

The Most Magical Cabin!!

I can’t rave enough about this place!! Every single detail was just so perfect. From the responsive host, to the personalized touches, there was just so much beauty in everything. My husband and I couldn’t have asked for a more magical weekend in the woods with each other. Can’t wait to go back!!

Friends get away!

Very nice and relaxing! Has everything you need. Bathroom, shower, kitchen, 2 bedrooms. & small living room. Fire place. Would definitely stay there again. Make sure you have AWD vehicle to get to the location. Loved it.

The Taoist

This cabin was great. Very secluded and this one in particular was super private. The outdoor space was so peaceful. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful. It has pretty much everything you could ask for. Also they aren’t joking when they say you need four wheel drive. Overall a great experience.

Birthday weekend

My friend and I had an awesome time at the Taoist cabin for my birthday weekend. Everything was just as pictured and Michael is a very communicative host. A fire pit right off the porch gives the coziest feeling, and waking up to the sunrise through the large glass windows was so serene! Next time I go camping at the gorge I will 100% be revisiting this property!

Beautiful scenery

Absolutely loved the scenery waking up in the morning. Sun rising directly out the bedroom window. We had an amazing time. Definitely need 4 wheel drive as the road to the property is steep and rough. Water did have a strong smell to it which I suppose is sulphur. Just running the sink would stink Up the entire cabin. But we had a great time regardless!
