The view was nice, Unfortunately, it was not like in the advertising picture no pool it was broken the jacuzzi wasn't working, the house in bad shape, outlets most of them not working, the house wasn't clean.

The views are incredible. This property is ocean view to the extreme with views of the Rodanthe pier. It is a quite magical experience. Unfortunately, with the proximity, comes the damage we saw with the pool. However the hosts provided a nice shaded temporary pool. The spaces were very comfortable for our family with a well equipped kitchen and game room. The home is generally well maintained with a few appliance issues; the dryer and refrigerator shelves. Otherwise, I would highly recommend it for the beautiful view and ambiance. Thank you to our hosts for a memory we will never forget

Perfect family getaway - we can't wait to come back!

We loved everything about our stay here. The property is even better than advertised - spacious, beautifully decorated, so comfortable...you can tell this isn't just an income property for Hilary and David but a true passion project. They love this home and want their guests to love it too. So many thoughtful touches, even including what I came to think of as the "magic junk drawer" in the kitchen where if you found yourself needing something (the charger plug you forgot to bring, a battery, a magnifying glass), it would "magically" appear there. The location is amazing. I don't think you can get closer to the beach anywhere else in Rodanthe - those ocean views from nearly every spot in the house were a miracle. Being next to Rodanthe Pier we just loved - we visited often. The people there, including the owners, were SO friendly. In fact, when my car battery died the day we were to check out and I asked Hilary for a recommendation of who to call, she called the owner of the pier, who had someone over with jumper cables almost before we were off the phone. ;-) David drove down HOURS the day we checked in to double check on the pool and hot tub system, as the maintenance person had told him there MIGHT be an issue (easily solved, and David was so cheerful and kind as if he hadn't just driven hours for a 20-minute once over to ensure our holiday was perfect). Again, you can tell how much they really care about their Rodanthe home and the comfort of the guests who stay. 3

Relaxing, Fun Family Time

Ocean Breeze was perfect size and location right on the beach. Vacationed with family, 4 adult couples and 5 kids 1-10, plus our furry family. Hosts were amazing and answered all questions. Gave lots of tips. I was a little concerned being so close to the pier with over crowding or noise and traffic, but it’s a fairly quiet beach. Although the inground pool was taken out by the storms last year, they still made sure that there was an above ground pool. Grandkids loved the option as well as the parents to have something right there to use, when the beach was too rough for the little ones. Not a day went by that there wasn’t something keeping everyone entertained or relaxing just watching the waves. Loved it.

Quick and Perfect Trip

Quick weekend getaway. It was a very large house for just four of us, but we absolutely loved it. Being right on the beach is key and we loved every second of it. Very relaxing space and the kids loved the game room. Will book again.

Negative response

The house was good beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Alot of steps for small children to maneuver. The disappoint was the caved in pool and the eyesore it was every time you looked out at the beach. I never leave bad reviews but I believe there is a little something not exactly right when it takes 2-3 weeks to get the added on Grill fee back only after inquiring about it...then almost a month later getting an email from an insurance company about a claim submitted on our be half from homeowner claiming 1 fork and 1 spoon was missing and that the fridge shelf needed replacing( I have the documentation from homeowner that the fridge had flimsy shelves and not a good design). The house is great but check around because unfortunately it was way overpriced compared to the nearby newer and larger homes on the same section of beach! I feel if there was truly a problem the homeowner should have reached out to me before submitting insurance claims!!!

Amazing location, wonderful house

Ocean Breeze is a dream to stay at. We had a smaller group of 6 so didn’t use many of the bedrooms, but the location of the house was phenomenal. The beds and pillows were all really comfortable which is not guaranteed in a rental and the house felt like a home with all sorts of additional amenities thought of, including lots of towels. Pier passes were also included which was so nice and our kids went there each night to check the fish, watch dolphins and get ice cream. The hosts were extremely communicative and helpful. Absolutely would come back and recommend.

Just Bring Your Clothes!

Everything you need is included! A beautiful home, and the owner was just a text away. My family was very impressed with how complete this home was. From crab pots, to sand toys. Family games *loved playing sequence*, to the binoculars to watch the porpoise. This place is a perfect 10.

Great week at the beach

My family had a lovely week at the beach staying at Ocean breeze! There are gorgeous views, and the ocean is right there. The kitchen was well stocked. The pool has basically fallen in the sand, and I am still in shock that the homeowners offered no discount for the loss of that important amenity. The pool in the carport is not the same. Keep in mind that you have three floors to travel when grilling out. Also, with the “ocean breeze,”we all agreed that we should have packed an extra sweatshirt more than we thought we needed. It was pretty quiet in late August, but the beach does get a little crowded right there by the pier. Overall, we enjoyed the trip but for that price, we’ll probably stay somewhere else next time.

Family vacation

The house was in a great location and overall we had a great time. There are a few things that need upgraded or fixed. Either they were broken or on the verge of breaking. The 3rd floor shower curtain was completely disgusting. Some of the utensils were falling apart and flaking and need replaced. One of the blenders were broken. But again all minor things. Overall again great experience.

Celebration of a loved one

The house was on the beach which was a major draw. The in ground pool had been destroyed due to weather. The above ground pool was ok but the steps were not conducive to older and overweight people Location was great. Beach views were beautiful. Communication with the owner was good. The few problems we had were fixed quickly In all a great stay with beautiful memories

Great family Vacation

Perfect location for a beach trip and family get together. You can't be any closer to the beach and the pool is awesome. Inside the house has everything you need and the gas AND charcoal grills are great to have. If you can't climb stairs this is not for you but what a great trip our family (Grandma, Grandpa, 2 grown children and their spouses and 4 grandchildren) summer trip was like being in heaven! Our hosts were wonderful to speak to as well.

Absolute Perfection

I can not say enough wonderful things about this property. The location is superb, it’s close enough to attractions, stores, shops and restaurants but just far enough away that you’re not right in the middle of it. The views from any balcony or even the windows in this home are absolutely breathtaking. The home was so clean! This home is so well prepared for guests, Hilary and David have thought of it all! Communication with the owners is by far the best I have ever had with any vacation home. We will most definitely be returning without hesitation.

Prime location!

Best location for surfing! Dogs are allowed on the pier and the beach. No crowds. Pier lights illuminate the waves at night. House is spacious and very well laid out. Campfires allowed on beach. Pool lights up for night swimming. Fishing from pier without a license. Fishing supplies available at pier store. Free passes to pier available to renters.
