Dog-friendly house with AC, W/D, private pool, & hot tub

  • New in our program, this home has many great reviews from past guests.

    The best vacation recipe begins with this beautiful, 3,000-square-foot, oceanside Sun N Waves. The bottom level has good parking, a carport, an outdoor shower, and is an easy walk from the beach. On the living level, the first bedroom has a pyramid bed and a crib. A convenient full hall bath is close to the laundry nook. The second bedroom has a king-size bed, a TV, and deck access to a porch featuring a private hot tub. The hot tub is accessible from the ground level stairs. The third bedroom has a queen bed and a TV. The fourth bedroom has a king-size bed, deck access, an LCD TV, and a full bath. On the second level, the great room has tall ceilings, a half bath, an entertainment center with an LCD TV, free WIFI, and comfy resort furniture. Wide furnished decks, a screened porch, and a small covered porch allow for full access to views and sun. Sun N Waves's well-equipped kitchen has a breakfast island and is close to the dining table. The fifth bedroom is a main bedroom with a queen bed, an LCD TV and DVD player, and a full bath.

    Things to Know
    The private pool will open seasonally from 04/01/2026 and close 10/10/2026. Dates are subject to change.
    You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.

Great place to stay

This home had plenty of room for our family vacation. Everyone enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and our daily trips to the beach. The neighborhood is oceanside so beach access was very convenient. We also loved the ice-cream truck that came through daily.

Great place!

Wonderful vacation spot! The house is a short walk to the beach (5 minutes) and has peek-a-boo views of the water from the kitchen and the top deck.

Great house

House is very large and spacious. Super close to the beach. Pool and hot tub were great. Tons of beach chairs and beach toys, even a buggy to take them all to the beach. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need for cooking. WiFi was very spotty which frustrated the kids but I think that’s typical for the area. I’d stay here again for sure!

House neede some love for sure. Not one to being a snob but. Pros for sure was deck, location, hot tub, pool and beds were nice.Cons one bedroom had to of been used for dogs, smelled like urine.no pool light and most outside bulbs were burnt out. Few outlets not working outside.also. if taken food, cans or box stuff no storage.

Nice house on a quiet dead end street

The house is very nice and welcoming. Everything you may need is in the kitchen - plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, silverware, pots & pans, etc. The beds are comfy as is the rest of the furniture. Only a quick 2 minute walk to the beach. The location is nice for peaceful days & nights, however you must drive 10-15 minutes to Avon for restaurants, groceries, & shopping. VACASA was very easy to deal with as far as booking, check in, and check out. Overall, we loved the house and had a great vacation!

This house is great if you’re looking for more of a relaxed beach stay and not so close to all the busyness of some Outerbanks beaches. The beach was extremely beautiful and large for the small number of houses that had access to it. It was a decent hike up and down the dune to get there but very well worth it! Still plenty of restaurants, ice cream and other shops close by in Avon and Rodanthe. The pool and gas grill were great to have for the week! A few of the beds were extremely hard mattresses but overall the house was great and we had a wonderful stay!! ❤️

Great beach house for families!

Great beach house! Very clean and ready for our two families with four young kids. Owner called within first hour of moving in to make sure everything was satisfactory. No other home we have rented has an owner called. Very impressive. Pool and hot tub was very clean and a person came out midweek to clean and check chemicals. Not far from the beach at all. Had a great week overall. Thank you so much!

Perfect Family Vacation

This house is lovely. A perfect place for large families. Our son got married on the beach this week and we had 2 houses of family and friends. We did most dinners at this house because the layout is open and the kitchen is well stocked with plenty of dishes, pots and pans. We all agreed that this house was one of the nicest houses we have stayed in over the years in OBX. The pool and hot tub are great for when you are done with the sand. And the beach isn’t far from the house, a short walk. I highly recommend this home. The owner also called to check in with us and make sure we had everything we needed. Thanks for sharing your home.

Great Family Vacation

We enjoyed our stay at Sun N Waves! It was our first visit to the Outer Banks, and Waves was the perfect place for us. The house was exactly as described and very welcoming. The house had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. We felt right at home on the first night. The owner of the home called us during our stay just to make sure we didn’t have any questions or concerns. It was a very nice gesture. Having 3 small children, the pool was a godsend! The pool and hot tub were even cleaned during our stay. We were just a short walk to the beautiful beach as well. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we would need to cook our meals. We enjoyed our first extended family vacation and made a lot of memories. We will definitely be back!

Lovely Layout and Location, Poor Customer Service

The house was as expected, if a bit dated. Enjoyed the layout and proximity to the beach. The pool and hot tub were nice to have and the upper deck hangout was a favorite. (As another reviewer noted, there are fire ants in corners of the pool area that need to be handled but were easy to avoid.) Bumped down a star because of the poor customer service with Vacasa who were slow to respond to requests and pushed back our check in by two hours the day of arrival without any apology. The check in/check out times were both incorrect on the VRBO app and it took multiple calls and emails with Vacasa to resolve.

Couple of things that need attention 1. Bed in bedroom on top floor is the worst bed I have ever tried to sleep in. It sinks in the middle. 2. DVD player will not play blue ray disks. Not much use since almost all good new DVDs are blue ray. 3. Front step railing needs attention as we got several slinters from the weathered wood. Generally the house was very nice and we enjoyed our stay.

Worst experience we have ever had with a rental home in 15 years

Ant infested. Dirty. Leaking toilets. Nasty broken grill. Lights burnt out in pool area. Trash left in home. Nasty old refrigerator. Maintenance was promised to come out next morning first thing. Never showed. Miserable place to stay. It was a short walk to the beach but the house was awful and Vacasa/VRBO is a company we will NEVER rent from again. M Bexk

Great house, great location

This house is in the perfect location. Only 200-300 yards from the beach, easy access to the main road and unbelievable pool. Owner called during our visit to check on us. Downfall was the house was dirty, like it wasn’t clean prior to check in (food in the fridge, dirty dishes in dishwasher, dirt in the kitchen floor, cigarette can and butts in the deck). The bath mats were stained and need replacing, the blankets on the beds are thin, worn, and stained, and shower curtains could use a replacement. I understand that these are minor issues but the first thing we did was wash blankets and mop floor. Tenants pay a cleaning fee for these minor messes, but it seems little care is put in by the cleaning crew.

Pre summer week at the beach

Nice property overall and nice communication with the management team. Bedroom and Bathrooms were clean and well supplied (the only bad was we found a cockroach in one of the bedrooms when we first moved in - we contacted management and a pest control team visited the property the next day - they told it was not an infestation (thank god) but only one specimen that decided to fly in - with that, we agreed in having Pest control to be done after we left the house). Kitchen was well equipped but the kitchen sync was not clean, it looked dirt, with drops and spots inside the bowl, really bad. We had to adapt to dealing with that, but it was not a good experience. The refrigerator was old and rusty. It really looked bad. Kitchen floor (vinyl) needs some work done. It has stains and looks dirty. The whole kitchen can use some renovation work done. We also saw weeds in the pool area. Didn't look to be cared for. It is also worth to mention that there were fire ants all over the front and back yard, including around the swimming pool. Our kids were bitten more than once. Property management could do a better job in assuring guest do not have to deal with ants during their stay. We will not stay at this property again unless it is renovated and better cared for.
