This house it’s about the VIEW from some of the bedrooms from the kitchen and the beautiful big deck all year long ,we loved the clean bathrooms and the kitchen and the whole house Plenty of room on the first floor for people to do different things the living room big and cozy Love the little streets of Rockport and nearby towns a lot of restaurants to choose from and of course for us was must see Salem of course perfect month of the year and the price is reasonable Thank Brenda for letting us stay in your home We call ourselves the gang from CT😊

A Must Stay
What a great place to stay for our annual “sisters” fall get away. The house was spacious, comfortable and kitchen fully stocked. Plenty of towels and linens. Views from the balconies are beautiful. House was in a nice quiet neighborhood great for walks. Enjoyed the coastal causeway path and great views of the Atlantic. Numerous beaches to visit, close to Halibut Pointe State Park and close to town. Would highly recommend.

Perfect beach property
We loved the house and location. The view was spectacular. Very spacious and updated inside, although unassuming from the street. The house was clean, well-stocked and comfortable (the beds were especially comfortable). A real gem!

Rockport stay
Property was very clean. Because it only had 2 bathrooms it was not ideal for 8 adults. Also the TV situation was not the best as the password for the streaming services was not provided. The kitchen knives were very dull and there was insufficient larger bowls. I also think the stove needs to be checked out because one or two of the burners did not heat.

Thank you for choosing Golden Cottage by the Sea for your vacation rental. We strive to offer our guests the best experience possible in our home, thus all our 5 star reviews. I'm sorry you did not find 2 full bathrooms ideal. Also we do offer Netflix and YouTube TV. The streaming service you wanted is not part of our package. Regarding the kitchen knives, we will make sure to get them sharpened, thanks for letting me know. There are lots of large mixing bowls provided for our guests. Regarding the burner that wasn't working sufficiently, this was because it was turned to simmer.

Lovely!
Golden Cottage was just lovely! As noted in other reviews, its more spacious than it appears in photos, and is well stocked with kitchen supplies and towels. I loved the wood floors, even the sloping one in the upstairs hallway! Its nice when a house is updated with new things, like the bathrooms, some of the New England charm is left intact. Hopefully the middle bedroom windows will get fixed so you can open them and hear the ocean.

Best House Rental ever! August 2023
This house was just as listed. Extremely clean, (something that is very important to me) Well stocked with anything you could need. Central location to everything. Easy to get to Rockport downtown, as well as Good Harbor Beach and Gloucester. Neighborhood was great. Very friendly folks. Wonderful trails down to the Atlantic from the house and neighborhood. Incredible views from all balconies and deck. Appliances , furniture was upscale and new. Host very friendly, responsive to questions and helpful. 3 generations stayed here and had a blast. I read all reviews before renting and you always wonder what a rental will be in reality. I can say this was the best rental we have ever stayed in. We are hoping to come again next year!

Great stay for family and friends
The perfect, sea side getaway for a large family or group of friends. Big open space downstairs for community time, and a numerous bedrooms upstairs for private time. Two dedicated parking spaces out front and plenty of curbside nearby. A total win for large groups.

A Lovely Stay at Golden Cottage
We were a family group of nine. Ages 80 - 12. Each and every one of us loved our stay. The cottage is very spacious and immaculate. The air conditioning was greatly appreciated as we dealt with record temperatures. No matter the daily activities a highlight was gathering on the deck, sharing our adventures, and soaking in the glorious view.

Lovely!
We were afraid that this home would be too small for our family of 8 adults and one two year old but it seemed much more spacious than depicted! Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of towels. The location was fantastic even with the cold Thanksgiving weather. Close to charming Rockport and a quick footpath to the beach! Just perfect!!!

Beautiful Views, Quiet Neighborhood, on the Ocean.
The house is very unassuming from the street. But once inside you see why this home is awesome. You enter on the side of the home into the kitchen area that has two sliding glass doors that give a panoramic view of the Atlantic. The Kitchen has everything you will need. Through the glass doors lead to a deck where we spent most of our time. Separated by the bathroom on the first floor is the family room. It is very spacious warm and inviting. Complete with games and books to look through. The stairway is a little narrow but what you would expect and not out of the ordinary. Upstairs you will find 5 bedrooms! Plenty of room for family's. The two bedrooms at the end of the hall are good size and have a shared balcony with great views. You can hear the waves at night, which we love. The home is not directly on the beach, but there is a path you can walk down to the rocky shore. The neighborhood is very quiet and no traffic great for walks. About an hour from Boston and half hour from Salem. Over all a great place to stay. Loved it

Loved the location
We loved the house! It was so spacious and clean. We slept with the upstairs doors open and had a beautiful breeze and the sound of waves to lull us to sleep. We did cook in the oven and had to clean out the bottom of the stove because something was spilled and the house filled with smoke. But it was an easy fix. The downstairs toilet ran but again we just used the upstairs. We absolutely loved the foot paths to the water. What an adventure. All in all a beautiful location and home.

Best Rockport Vacation Yet
We've stayed in several vacation homes in both Rockport and Gloucester. Sunrise on the Cove was one of the best spots. Views were spectacular! Wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you Brenda for sharing your awesome home with us!

Tranquillity and Gorgeous Views
Golden Cottage has stunning ocean views and plenty of space for a wonderful family vacation. The eight of us were outside on the the decks constantly, even glimpsing whales in the distance several times during our stay; the kitchen is well equipped with top end appliances, and the living room offers not only a TV but also a nice assortment of games, puzzles, and books. The bathrooms are beautifully renovated; the kids especially loved the spa shower, which they had never seen before. Bedrooms are small, but beds and linens are very comfy, and the five bedrooms offer lots of sleeping space for a good sized group. We had a minor problem the first day, and Brenda contacted Randy, the local property manager, who came with prompt, friendly service. Check in and check out are both a breeze. The location near Halibut Point is wonderful - far enough from town to be very quiet and peaceful, but close enough to run into Rockport or Gloucester with ease. Plus, it was really nice to pop over to the Lobster Pool whenever we had the urge. The property offers close access to the Atlantic Coastal Path, which offers beautiful views and lots of rock climbing adventure, but there is no safe water access; however, there are beaches within short driving distance. Anyone who has been to Rockport before knows that parking is restricted to residents at most beaches, but Front and Back Beach offer on-street parking are great for kids. We always go to Gloucester for the larger beaches; if you haven't been to Cape Ann in a few years, be aware that parking passes MUST be purchased online in advance for Stage Fort, Wingershaek, and Good Harbor. We have stayed on Cape Ann in many locations over the years, and Golden Cottage was one of the best. The only thing that marred our week somwhat was that we were in the midst of a heat wave, and the air conditioning is inadequate for what appears to be our new summer weather pattern. However, overall, our stay was delightful and we highly recommend this property.

We had a lovely time at the Golden Cottage!
We had a lovely time at the Golden cottage. The location is excellent and we loved walking on the Atlantic path and around the neighborhood. The only drawback was the heat and lack of good air conditioning. There were air conditioners in the bedrooms, but the house was still very warm without central air. Overall though, it was a lovely place to spend a week.

Gorgeous Ocean View
The house was just right for our family of 2 daughters, their husbands and little ones .. 4, 1 and 3 mos. and us. It's actually bigger than it looks in the photos and well appointed. We spent alot of time on the deck under the umbrella keeping the beautiful blue ocean in our view all the time. There's plenty of places nearby for the kids and their families to explore. We all loved our vacation and look forward to visiting again. Thank you to the Goldens for sharing their lovely property.

Sweet Place with beautiful views
Cut little cottage with nice balconies and great ocean views. Would have been nice to have some coffee in the house when we arrived. The outside spaces need to be tidied up. Watch out for the step in the kitchen leading to the balcony. I wish I had…could have avoided a face plant!

Lovely place to stay
We had a wonderful time at Golden Cottage. Our group was cut in half due to illness so the three of us that were able to travel had PLENTY of room to spread out. If the four others were able to be there, we still would have been comfortable. I loved having the deck doors open to hear the ocean and feel the gentle breeze. The kitchen is very well appointed with a large variety of dishes, pots, and utensils which are all in excellent condition. We didn't cook much but could have easily cooked a feast with the variety of cookwear, including lobster pots. Comfy beds and linens. Lots of towels! Everything was just great! Cape Ann is gorgeous and I'd love to visit again. Our missing family are sad to have missed out so if we try again, I hope this home is available.

Fantastic week long family vacation. Plenty of room to spread out for our family of 7 and the front deck felt like an extra room during the day. Wonderful location
Six of us enjoyed the wonderful seaside house. The home is very comfortable, nicely furnished, bathrooms updated and luxurious, a real treat! Waking up every morning to the sound of the ocean & beautiful views from upper and lower decks was also a treat. Short walk to the water by way of coastal path or by road with many access points to water. Very quiet residential neighborhood also nice for peaceful walks. Loved the easy, quick trip to Rockport or Gloucester. Fantastic experience!

Wonderful family vacation
My two daughters, their spouses, my two grandchildren and I spent a delightful week at Golden Cottage. The location couldn’t have been better with the beautiful ocean views. The view from the deck (in addition to the ocean view) was a beautiful green lawn where we got to watch a fox, a couple of rabbits and some cardinals. We went for many walks through the quiet neighborhood and along the rocky shore. The house was more than spacious for our family of seven. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked many meals there. There is a charcoal grill on the deck but it would have been nice to have a gas grill. The only issue we had was that there were a couple of window screens that fell out at the lightest touch, so they could be secured a bit better. All in all we had a fabulous time and we’re sad to leave this lovely spot.

Not quite up to expectations
The location of this property was great. But it would be a lot better with some attention to the upkeep. No screens in the majority of the windows and non on the sliding doors so if you enjoy the breeze you get to seat insects. The grill for the vent fan in upstairs bathroom fell out hitting my wife while she showered as 3 of the 4 retaining clips were missing. Mouse droppings under the kitchen sink. Electrical outlet behind the bed was missing the cover plate which I find to be a hazard. Laundry room wasn’t the cleanest in fact there were some children’s underwear back on the side of the machines. Kitchen lights, the dimmer switches are acting up causing flickering lights. I have more that I could list with pictures to support it. I find it a shame as with a small amount of effort and time this place would be fantastic. If the owners like I can forward the pictures and give them a complete list of what I found.

Don, I am sorry that your experience at Golden Cottage by the Sea did not meet your expectations. The screens to all the windows and doors are not put up until after Memorial Day weekend due to the unpredictable weather on Cape Ann. I apologize for all the other issues you listed. Our property manager and cleaning company have been notified. We work really hard to offer a place worthy of the 5 star rating most guests give us.

All you need for a family getaway.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Golden Cottage. The house was well equipped for some family togetherness and relaxation. Not once did I find myself saying "I wish they had ..." I already miss waking up to the sun rising over the ocean or planning the route for the next walk along the water. I hope to be back soon. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Lovely getaway
This is a quaint home with a wonderful location. Sunny front room and decks overlooking the ocean made for a happy stay, even though a few or our days were rainy/stormy. Accommodations were comfortable and enabled us to enjoy time together and even cook in when desired. A nice jumping off point for further exploration on Cape Ann and a quiet neighborhood and rocky shore for walking, bird watching, and enjoying the ocean.

Fall weekend getaway
The house was beautiful. The layout was perfect and the view was wonderful. The furniture left a little to be desired but it did not dampen things because the house was perfect. Some of the furniture was old and starting to rust and there was a dishrack that was rusted and old and not needed. All in all, the house was very nice and I think a little upgrade to the furniture would make it perfect. We enjoyed our long weekend there and would definitely come again.
