Perfect for Families

We loved our stay at Rocka-waves retreat! The owners did a fantastic job of setting up the house up for a young family and for dogs. Our kids were so excited from start to finish. The scenic train even goes by a few times a day just out front. The house was an easy walk to a couple of beach entrances as well as a number of food spots. The house was well furnished with bedding, bath towels, beach towels, and beach blankets. They even had some beach toys and a fire pit. The kitchen and grill also made it easy to cook at the house.

Great cottage in Rockaway Beach

We loved the cute cottage only half a block from the ocean. It is so convenient to walk across the street to several shops, pubs and restaurants. The hosts were very pleasant and communicated with us about check in and check out. Very dog friendly also. We will stay there again.

Excellent Escape to the Oregon Coast

The house was wonderful. We loved the fact it was so close to the beach, it made the walk to see the sunsets a few minutes. It also is in the middle of town so we were able to walk to shops and restaurants. The house has a master bedroom downstairs and more upstairs along with another bathroom. We only used the downstairs so that is the focus of this review. The bedroom is cozy, what it might of lacked in size, it made up with the lovely fire feature on the wall and the feeling of being in a lovely cocoon. We spent 3 nights on a 12 night trip and it was my best sleep. The kitchen had everything we needed. We appreciated the coffee and bottle of wine. We enjoyed the living room. It rained while we were there so we used the TV and streaming services. We really liked just sitting on the couch and watching people walk by. The train station about a block away. It is a cool old train and it was fun to wave at the people from our porch. This might sound intrusive but it was actually fun and the train only runs a couple times a day. If we come back, we will ride it. It was just a wonderful stay in a lovely house in a beautiful part of the world. Thank you!

Even Better Than Expected

We could not have been more impressed with our stay here. The house was outfitted perfectly for us and for the dog. Everything was impeccably clean and thoughtfully laid out. I highly recommend staying here.

Great stay in Rockaway

We had an excellent stay in Rockaway. Probably the most thoughtful of hosts that i have experienced over the years. The hosts left a s’mores kit, kindling etc and there were loads of games and activities/restaurant reviews. the beach is quite large compared to others in the area and was very peaceful. We would highly recommend!

Cozy house by the beach

This property was immaculately clean, well supplied with toys, beach supplies and almost anything you could think of to need. Well located, walking distance to most things in town - the beach, coffee, restaurants and shopping. The hosts were very responsive to questions. Would love to go back.

Summer 2023 Family getaway

The property managers were terrific and very responsive. The pictures on the listing didn't do the property justice, the property was bigger than the pictures showed. Very short walk to the beach and everything. We never had to get in our cars. The kids loved the train ride! I would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a casual family beach experience!

Amazing beach home with everything you need!

My family with 3 generations aged 1-70 had a fantastic time at this beach house! My kids were thrilled with the assortment of toys and each rental since then hasn’t lived up to their expectations now as they are always wondering where all the fun stuff is! The beach access is phenomenal and you have all you need with shops nearby. Although you are in a busy area it’s never noisy. Beds are comfortable and the shower is hot! We would love to come back one day. Thanks for everything!

Walk to the beach!

My teenager, Goldendoodle, and I had a fabulous time! The home was super cute and comfy with lots of little extras. We walked to the beach whenever we wanted to, especially to watch the stunning sunsets - it is so close!! Owners are so friendly and responsive. We had such a great time!

We loved our stay!!

This house was perfect for my son, pups and I - it was very clean, comfortable and unique! We had a quick walk to the beach or into downtown, whichever way we went, the location is very convenient! The owners were also very great to work with, super responsive and kind. We'll definitely be vacationing to this home again, we can't wait!

Very comfortable, close to beach

Thoughtfulness really captures the vibe of this house. The kitchen is well equipped and lots of extra linens and blankets as well as things for the dog, baby and older children. The location is amazing, we were able to walk down the beach, cut over to the old cedar tree trail and back no problem. Thanks for a great house!

Quick Beach and Town Access

My husband and adult daughter and our small dog had a great three day stay in this cozy little beach house. The fenced yard was perfect for us. The house is well located just off the beach with tiny water views from the back deck and it's right in the town of Rockaway so a few steps to restaurants and shops. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Always great!

My son and I just love this house on the beach at Rockaway. It has everything you need for either an adventurous beach weekend or a quiet weekend away. Board games, toys, movies, and beach activities abound. Absolutely love staying at the “Red House” as my son affectionately calls it.

This property was very clean and just as advertised. It was very well stocked with everything adults need and had a great selection of toys for the toddler with us. It was close enough to the beach that I could walk there even using a cane. It was close to the center of town and the old railroad. Sandra was very easy to work with and was responsive when contacted. The property was extacly what we needed and was perfect for us. The toddler who was with us cried when told we were going home, she wanted to stay at the “red house”. We will definitely stay there again.
