This was a great place for our group of 13, aged 5 to 86, that had gathered for four nights to honor an 80th birthday. The screened-in porch with a view of the bay was particularly popular with the group, and even had views of 4th of July fireworks across the water as well as a real lightning show during a storm one night. We also enjoyed the glider chair next to the lawn facing the bay, and the group made it out to the small private beach area that is best accessed through the trees to the right of the property while facing the bay. The kitchen was well-stocked, and there was more space both inside and outside the house than we had expected. There are three indoor leisure areas: one room with a pool table, one area with a bar set-up and lounging area, and a somewhat smaller seating area just off the kitchen/dining area. The bedrooms are in two wings, and are wells-tied. At least one has a sleep sofa that appears not to be counted in the total number of occupants but provides some flexibility in the rooming arrangements. The home is sizable, well-kept, and well-equipped. Meaghan was gracious in meeting our group when there was a bit of trouble with accessing the property at check-in time using the assigned entry code, and was helpful in providing recommendations for bakers, restaurants, etc. If you're traveling with elderly or disabled persons, note that there is no shower in any of the bathrooms, and the entire living area is on the second floor of the house (the first floor is a locked garage). you may wish to inquire. In terms of the surroundings, Rock Hall MD is a small town a few miles away, and Chestertown is slightly larger with more restaurants etc and about a 20 minutes drive.
