Serene perfect place to stay
Anyone looking for a comfy well appointed place in a serene setting with the nicest hosts imaginable should look no further. Highly recommended. Spent 3 nights here with my 10 year old son and we couldn’t have asked for more. 10/10

A thoroughly wonderful experience
My husband and I spent a week here in early September, and couldn't have wished for a lovelier time. I counted 44 bird species from the back deck, which overlooks the beautiful Kettle River. We swam in the river, played golf at the excellent course nearby, cycled the rail trail across the river, and canoed in Jewel Lake. The cottage is absolutely clean, and utterly charming. Debbie and Lanny are delightful hosts, as are their 7 curious turkeys. We're already planning our next visit.

Great little get away
The Little House is great, Lanny and Debbie were great hosts. The turkeys and chickens entertained the kids, they also loved the water right behind the house. Great little getaway from daily life, just what we needed.

Memorable Kettle Valley

A Home Away from Home
Wow! The house and location is absolutely breathtaking. The chickens that walk around during the day are adorable and the cows that are occasionally seen in the field is a lovely surprise. The float down the river is super relaxing and there is a lovely mix of sun and shade so there is no chance of overheating. From the property there is also the option to do a crisp morning dip into the river to start your day. The fresh eggs that are provided taste outstanding and are the perfect morning meal. 10/10 will be staying here again.

Above & Beyond
The cottage was fully stocked with everything you need for a week long vacation, or longer really! The owners went above and beyond to help us feel welcome, share about the area and make sure we always had everything we needed! The acerage is absolutely beautiful! So quiet and relaxing. We loved hanging out, and learning about the chickens! The property has access to the river, a fire pit and BBQ. Our family, with 2 teenagers, highly recommends this property!

A little bit of heaven
A wonderful retreat away from city life. A time of quiet reflection on a farm and river with wonderful big sky, sights and sounds of animals and fantastic hosts. Accommodations was everything you could need or want for a home away from home.

Great area and perfect management
Very idyllic setting by Rock Creek. Quiet, surrounded by nature and short distance to many outdoor activities. The cottage is very tastefully furnished, clean and provide great base for exploring the area. The hosts are friendly, helpful and fast responding to requests. One of our best stay.

Peaceful country getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the home has been lovingly renovated and is well appointed, we had everything we needed and appreciated the cleanliness and attention to detail. The location is beautiful and very peaceful. We enjoyed sitting under the stars around a bonfire, cycling along the KVR rail trail and visiting the local farmers market. Thank you Lanny and Debbie!

Great stay at Home in the Ranch Rock Creek
We really enjoyed our stay at home on the ranch in rock creek. Floated on the creek, went for some casuals strolls and visited the local market. The cottage was perfect and quiet and right on the creek.

Wonderful weekend getaway!
We enjoyed an amazing stay at Debbie & Lanny’s cottage. The home exceeded our expectations and was updated and very very clean. The kitchen was well equipped. We especially enjoyed the fresh eggs that we’re waiting for us upon our arrival. Our kids had an absolute blast with the chickens! The owners also had a small inflatable pool set up with some water toys for them to play with, and a small tricycle which even our older kids had fun with. Us adults enjoyed our morning coffees (and peace & quiet) on the back deck overlooking the river. The river was a refreshing way to cool off from the heat in the afternoons. This was our first time visiting the Rock Creek area and we had a lot of fun exploring what the area had to offer. We spent some time in Greenwood on the playground as well. The playground zipline was the main attraction for them! We will 100% be back and next time hope to extend our visit beyond just a weekend. Thanks again for your hospitality Debbie & Lanny! Lovely, quiet stay in the country.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The river was perfect for a relaxing and refreshing tube float and swim. The kids loved the chickens, hens and turkeys! We are sad we only discovered Rock Creek Trading Post on the last day, very delicious food and coffee! Lanny and Debbie were great hosts and we were impressed with how clean the cottage was. We wil be back! Definitely recommend if you are looking for a quiet getaway with close enough proximity to Osoyoos (45 mins away).

Amazing Hosts
Our family of four really enjoyed our time at Debbie and Lanny's "Home on the Ranch". The house was a great size and well appointed, right down to fans to help keep the cool breezes flowing during the heat wave (we were amazed at how cool the house stayed - all the trees!). The farm eggs, pancake mix and syrup were wonderful touches! We normally travel with a bin of our own items from home (ie - frying pan, cooking utensils, dish towels, etc.) since not every rental is created equal; we really didn't need to open our bin in this house. Very clean and in great condition. A solid house and fantastic property. Our two young boys had a blast being on "a real farm!", running around the wide open spaces, chasing chickens, being chased by turkeys, swimming in the river, catching minnows. We all enjoyed floating and paddle boarding either from the house directly or from a short drive down the highway. The surrounding country roads were perfect for after-dinner walks and bike rides. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Debbie and Lanny were amazing hosts making sure we had everything we needed. They even put out toys for our boys and filled up a little kiddie pool for them! Of note, there is a second rental unit (small studio) on the property, immediately next to the cottage. We don't remember this being noted in the description at the time of our booking and while it wasn't a major concern for us during our stay (we were typically out most of the day and everyone was respectful of privacy and noise at night), there were a number of different guests during our week in the house, which does take away from the overall vibe a little (i.e. minor annoyance having new neighbors arrive almost each night while relaxing on the back deck star gazing and enjoying peace and quiet). For those who value their privacy and are looking for true seclusion, this may be something to consider. A great stay overall and we'd love to come back! Thanks!

Beautiful spot
Beautiful spot, clean cottage, with helpful, friendly hosts who provided local info, helped facilitate a car drop for floating the river and provided bikes for us to explore on! So nice to cool down in the river right off the property! We were a bit surprised that there was a studio rental right next door as we value privacy, but overall it was a lovely getaway.

Hidden Gem in The Okanagan!!!
If you are looking for seclusion and relaxation this is the perfect place. The property was clean and fully stocked for all your needs. I enjoyed the balcony over looking the river and which was visited often by deer. The kids loved the chickens! They are sadly missed, especially “Nugget” and “Kentucky”. The fresh farm eggs were incredible and thank you so much for the peppers and peaches, you made a certain someone very happy. We will definitely be back for a visit next year!!!!!

A lovely stay
From the first warm greeting from Lanny and Debbie we knew we had found a wonderful place to experience the Rock Creek area. The beautifully renovated cabin (house) had everything we needed plus some. The fresh eggs they brought us added that extra touch of care that we so appreciated. The location next to the meandering river, with friendly chickens coming by to say hi made the farm experience great. We only wish we had booked a longer stay. Next time for sure!

Wonderful, super friendly and very down to earth owners, I just cant give enough credit to how we missed those generous people. Paradise on the river
Whatever you hope this place will be, it is more. Everything is perfect. The beds are comfortable, the river is right out the back door, the kitchen is very well stocked, everything is spotlessly clean. Debbie and Lanny are delightful hosts, offering farm fresh eggs, local information, and super convenient rides to take you to tubing spots. The fresh air, the sounds of nature, and sight of deer at your front door wipe away all your stress. This is an incredibly peaceful and beautiful place.

We truly enjoyed and appreciated Monique and Steven as guests. They were respectful and left our place very tidy. They spent time floating the river, hiking and visiting our area. We welcome them back anytime! As a host, they are the type of guests you want to return over and over.

Excellent getaway!
Home is located on property with owners however is very far ensuring a private cozy getaway space. The house is very clean and spacious, we cooked our own food and the kitchen space is great as is the BBQ. Well equipped with everyone you need. Walking down to river is a bit of an incline and not great beach space however a short walk over a bridge takes you to a small sandy beach that is just perfect for swimming and relaxing!! Try the Prospector's pub for a fun riverside patio (need a car or a bike). Very fun to feed the chickens our left over fruit and veg! A number of resident deer to watch. Very great spot for relaxing for a single as well.

Dreamy stay
We so thoroughly enjoyed our time at Debbie and Lannys place. It was immaculately clean and well-located (right next to the river for cool swims in the heat), and had everything we needed. Debbie was also super thoughtful and kind in accommodating our toddler. We would definitely recommend staying here!

Great place to stay
Beautiful cottage right by the river. Fully stocked kitchen with a BBQ right outside. Having a morning coffee on the back deck while watching the river go by, and having an afternoon snack at the front watching the cows graze and the chickens roam was great. Debbie and Lanny are excellent hosts, very friendly and more than happy to share tips on what to see in the area. There were some nice hiking opportunities very nearby, including a great hike up to a viewpoint of the valley, lots of deer to see around there for sure. Definitely would recommend! Not to mention the dozen fresh farm eggs they graciously provided. Delicious! Matt

Rock Creek/Kettle Valley Cottage
The property was ideally located just off of Trans Canada Highway 3, far enough from the highway to avoid the traffic noise. The cottage/House was excellent and beautifully appointed . 2 spacious bedrooms suitable for 2 couples or a family of 5 or 6. Kitchen was fully equipped and there was a propane barbeque outside the back door. Living room fully furnished with all entertainment equipment; single bathroom, but with washer/dryer laundry for guest use. The owners, Deborah and Lanny were next door, on the property. Free roaming chickens around the property with deer around. A dozen fresh eggs were waiting in the fridge. The Kettle River flowed by, just off the back door. The location great for all sorts of outdoor activities (golf 2 km. away) was ideal. The Kettle Valley decommissioned rail line was great for experienced and novice cyclists alike. While you are out in the country, access to main highway and small towns were minutes away. Deborah & Lanny are the nicest people you could wish to meet. Although I was in the area for a family reunion, I would certainly recommend the rental for an outdoor vacation stay or a couple of nights stop-over on the way across the Province. A Five ***** stay. We really enjoy hosting and providing our guests basic needs and a touch more. As long as we have chickens, we will happily provide farm fresh eggs at no extra charge. Being on acreage allows some diversity as per guests staying. Lots of room to set up a tent and extra power for an RV. Bringing your floatation devices and/or kayak to use on the river is a good option.

Awesome hosts and surroundings
We spent four nights at this awesome place. Debbie and Lanny were excellent hosts. Our kids fed the chickens, went tubing on the river and ride their bikes on the Trans Canada Trail behind the property. Very relaxing atmosphere. We'll definitely return in the future. Ana and Ben
