* The House of Pierre Loti — A unique residence of the writer-sailor from Rochefort, classified as a historical monument. Each room is a journey: Turkish room, Gothic room, Renaissance room, Arabic mosque... A timeless place not to be missed under any circumstances.
* The National Maritime Museum — Housed in the splendid seventeenth-century Hôtel de Cheusses, it retraces three centuries of maritime history through models, navigational instruments, uniforms and works of art. A must to understand the role of Rochefort in the history of France.
* The Hermione — The reconstruction of the frigate that transported La Fayette to America in 1780 is a technical and historical feat. Visit the workshops, climb aboard and relive the epic of the great eighteenth-century war ships moored in their original arsenal.
