We stayed with my family for our wedding weekend at Bernard’s and I could not have imagined a better location and house!! It was comfortable with beautiful views, plenty of space and a stocked kitchen. May was very nice and flexible when my car died and I had to extend my stay to get it jump started. Overall…perfect in every way!

We had a great time, and felt the place was very well appointed, and well situated. Everything was clean and updated, and all the appliances worked. The lake and mountain views were very restorative and the little beach close by provided easy access to the lake for my two year old granddaughter. Communication was prompt and accurate. Check-in and check out were seamless. We were a party of nine, (6 adults, 3 children) and felt everyone had the space and bathrooms they needed to feel comfortable. It was an easy walking distance to the clubhouse and restaurant. Excellent location for a week of relaxation and a great introduction to Smith Mountain Lake.

A Sweet Stay at Bernard's Landing

Bernard's Landing is one of my family's favorite places to visit. Peaceful Haven is a very lovely home, right on Smith Mountain Lake, that is beautifully appointed and very clean. The beds were super comfortable, too! The owner, May, was quick to respond to all questions, which we appreciated. We didn't use all that was available--bikes, kayaks, a grill, but it was nice to know they were there.

A relaxing fun stay with our family. The home is laid out to take advantage of the floor space. Amenities are very nice, pool and lake a short walk.

Great First Stay at SML

Three generations of our family met at this beautiful location for a week of relaxation and fun. We were pleasantly surprised by how much nicer the house was than the description and pictures. We loved the expansive deck overlooking the lake, the comfy swing, and the overhang that kept us dry during rainstorms. The second fridge in the laundry room was great for drinks and snacks! The house stayed cool in the summer heat. The kitchen was beautiful and functional with all needed gadgets, cookware, and storage containers. The WiFi and smart TV’s worked well. Access to the docks and beach was easy when we rented a boat for the day. The Weber charcoal grill was used several times. We were surprised that several of the bedrooms only had sheers to block out the sun. Overall we had an exceptional stay at a beautiful lake house.

Awesome experience

Perfect for spending time with friends in a comfortable and relaxing setting. It’s a spacious kitchen, dining, living room with plenty of seating. Right on the lake, we ate meals on the deck too. We’d stay there again if in the area.

The property is amazing! It could not be closer to the lake and has a dock available. The location is within easy walking distance of a great restaurant, boat rentals and the community pool. The rooms are very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need. We look forward to returning for a longer stay!

We love Peaceful Haven!

This is our third stay at Peaceful Haven and it just gets better every year! The remodeling that has been done is stunning! There is plenty of room for a family to spread out. The lake views are gorgeous, the little beach is so convenient and the kayaks/SUP are great for touring the lake. We have already booked our stay for next year!

Wonderful Week

Waterfront with Mountain View - we woke up every morning in awe of being able to drink our coffee in the back deck and take in the beautiful scenery. We swam in the lake every day and used the provided water toys. Our toddlers loved being able to walk right in to the water. The home was fully accommodating in terms of layout and supplies. We can’t wait to come back!

Peaceful Haven

Peaceful Haven was heavenly for our extended family of 10 ranging in age from 8 months to 65 years! Even better than we anticipated! House was spacious and had everything we needed and then some! Top & bottom decks afforded lovely views of the lake and mountains! Sandy beach was just steps away and convenient boat rental around the cove. Owners are very responsive to any questions/issues that arise! Stay here to make family memories you will treasure for a lifetime!

everything perfect

This unit was amazing and perfect for our 4 couples. The view right on the lake was beautiful, the house was so well stocked with everything you could possibly want or need, everyone in our group commented on how comfortable the beds were. It was just a beautiful, well decorated and furnished town house. We will definitely come back and stay in this exact location/unit!!

Absolute best on SML

This property is AMAZING! There are just not enough words to explain how much we loved it. It was exceptional - from the location to the decor to the well stocked kitchen. May checked in regularly to make sure everything was going well. We have stayed at SML several years in the past and this was by far the best property. Bernard's is our favorite location and this is the most beautiful home we've stayed in at Bernard's. I am incredibly particular about cleanliness and I can say that there was not one crumb or dirty spot on any of the 3 floors. If you've never been to Bernard's Landing, this is a prime location. The view is unbeatable and the beach area right outside was a perfect spot for our kids. There were 10 of us (6 adults and 4 kids ages 6-17) and every one of us had a great time. The rooms are perfectly appointed and it worked well for our 3 family units. We can't wait to come back and enjoy Peaceful Haven next year!

Late December Stay

The location of the property is amazing. It's very beautiful view of the lake and mountains. Pretty big house that good for up to 10 people. Plenty of room inside with multiple places to chill. The clubhouse is nice addition as it has indoor and outdoor swimming pools as well as gym, sauna and steam room. The property manager was great. We've never had any issues. Everything was awesome! We'll definitely go back. Highly reconnend!

Incredible weekend

The location and view are awesome. The house, itself, was beautiful, nicely updated and had everything we needed for our stay. I would recommend this property for any season of the year. A shout out to the Napoli's on the Lake restaurant, also.

Absolutely the BEST Rental

We absolutely loved our stay here. This is by far the nicest rental home we’ve ever stayed in. Gorgeous house with phenomenal views of the lake. We cooked every night, so we really appreciated the awesome kitchen which is fully stocked. Toddler loved the little beach just behind the house and we played on it every single day. Since we were here in the fall, we took advantage of the gym, playground, and indoor pool, all part of the community access amenities. May was a phenomenal host and great to work with. She helped make our stay perfect. Wouldn’t hesitate to return here again. Thanks for a great stay!!
