Relaxation and Recreation on the River!

  • River Ranch Retreat is situated directly on the Maumee River, west of the Providence Dam, Grand Rapids, OH, and is located on coveted deep water. Dock your boat or jet skis at the River Ranch dock, bring wake boards, water skis, tubes, and enjoy over 20 miles of open water way. Boats can be launched at Mary Jane Thurston State Park Marina, one mile away. Hike or bike trails at Mary Jane Thurston Park, view Providence Dam, tour Ludwig Mill, take a boat ride on the Erie Canal. Visit the historic town of Grand Rapids, Ohio, enjoy casual or fine dining, a pizza with the family, and, of course, ice cream! Visit shops, including several antique shops, holistic and craft shops, "The Dam Gift shop," local wineries, take the kids to the play ground, hear local musicians and attend annual festivals. You'll inevitably catch a glimpse of Bald Eagles, Blue Herons, cranes, loons and jumping fish. Farmer Brett is right down the road for local produce. Enjoy watching spectacular sunsets and sitting by the campfire. This retreat is clean and comfortable to make you feel right at home.

This home was perfect! It was very conveniently located with a great boat dock, fully stocked, very comfortable home. The owners were very accommodating, we would definitely go back!

Property was clean and exactly as listed! Owners were very responsive and willing to accommodate a few requests! They even left a wonderful welcome basket! Nice place to relax and unwind. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in a nice relaxing getaway!

We had a very comfortable stay while attending our niece’s wedding near Grand Rapids, Ohio. Your welcome basket was enjoyed as well as refreshing drinks in the fridge. The beds were very comfortable. The antique stores in Grand Rapids were an added bonus.

Enjoyable

Very comfortable place to stay, well stocked will all amenities needed. Being on the river is a plus also. Everyone enjoyed themselves, we will be staying again.

Very nice place! We felt right at home. Our annual family reunion is held two miles away at the Mary Jane Thurston State Park so it was the perfect location for us.

We had a very quiet, peaceful and enjoyable time. We would definitely rent it again. We loved the fact that it was completely stocked with items that we really enjoyed.

Clean and Cozy

This was a great place to stay! We were in town for the weekend visiting family, and the location couldn't have been better. The house was clean and cozy, and the river view out back was just gorgeous! The host provides a lot of little extras to make you feel comfortable, and we had a really great time.

Older house but very clean with comfortable beds. They had everything we might need while using the house. A birthday banner and plates were left for us with some treats. Very nice of them. Would definitely stay there again.
There is a landing down at hill. There's a fire pit and dock. Only downfall was it was rocks instead of sand but still nice little area to make smores or sit by the fire.
Beautiful scene to wake up to. You can see it from the kitchen/ dining area perfectly.

Repeat Renter Forever

This is the 2nd time my family stayed at the house and it’s just perfect. We love being on the water and making s’mores by the fire. The owners are amazing and truly make you feel at home. Highly recommend.

Long weekend get-away

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at this property and would definitely book it again! The canal boat ride in downtown Grand Rapids, just a few minutes way, was a unique experience, but I particularly liked our time staying at "home" watching my kids play in the river from a shaded chair on the riverbank and catching beautiful views out the windows while eating or chatting in the evenings.

4th of July Weekend

We really enjoyed the river access and brought our ski boat to the house. The views from the back of the house were great and being able to boat from Grand Rapids to Napoleon was ideal. We even stopped in at Lallys Marina next door for a ski rope and bag of ice.

Comfortable getaway

The house was great for visiting with family. Plenty of open space inside. The space at the river was fun for all. Dining and ice cream was just down the road in Grand Rapids. We will stay again.

This is our family's third time renting this property and it just keeps getting better!! The owners have upgraded the front walk and back patio to concrete which is such a nice addition! As always, they leave a basket of goodies and even left birthday candles and cake for my son who was celebrating his birthday while we were there. The area is really gorgeous and it's centrally located to be able to visit people in Toledo and the surrounding area with it's proximity is US 24. The property itself is an extremely well appointed home that's clean and well maintained. The owners are very kind and considerate and are always available to answer questions. The internet is great (we have teenagers) and it's in a nice quiet spot. We keep coming back because it's like our little home away from home now. Thanks so much for being great hosts and taking such good care of us!
