Although the photo representing this property was absolutely nothing like it really was.. the unit was quite nice. Spacious with plenty of outdoor areas.

The Perfect Sanctuary!

We loved our stay at Mango y Playa! It was the perfect little sanctuary for 2. The entire property was very well maintained and secluded. Our villa had the perfect amount of privacy as well - we enjoyed our view of the ocean and the backyard from both master bedroom balconies. Also, the canopy style bed and super plush bedding made our stay even more comfortable. Rut was very easy to communicate with and provided quick and clear responses to our questions. We can't wait to come back again!

WONDERFUL STAY ON PUERTO RICO'S QUIET COAST (WITH SOME MAINTENANCE ISSUES)

We spent a wonderful 7 nights at Mango y Playa. It is a beautiful unit and the entire property a quiet, lush oasis. The unit does not have a TV which was perfectly fine with us. and we did not miss having one. There are a couple of things that would have made the stay at a bit more enjoyable. The unit does not have WiFi which did create a problem as Cell Phone reception was not strong anywhere on the property. I would recommend that the owners install WiFi at some point. The shower head in the Master Bath leaked. The shower on the 1st floor is quite dangerous. It needs to be re-caulked around the entire outside bottom and have a new door gasket installed at the bottom of the glass door as water leaks onto the bathroom floor. My wife slipped coming out of the shower and was fortunate enough not to hit her head on the tile floor which would have been disastrous. Additionally, the coffee maker did not work so I had to use instant coffee heated in the microwave. I would recommend that the owners purchase a separate tea kettle as well. All of the doors on the 1st floor leading to the Plunge Pool and the balcony on the 2nd floor need replacing as humidity and weather have created gaps in the doors which does allow insects to come in. One of the windows in the door had a large crack. I feel that the price that we paid to stay at the unit should have been lower than what we paid given these issues.

Best of both worlds

Amenities amenities amenities, location location location! What’s not to love? Just a 10 minute drive to the heart of Rincon with the amazing beaches, food, and people! And then, there is this private oasis to come back too! Absolutely, the best of both worlds!

Outstanding beauty.

The property is beautiful and the gardens/grounds are meticulously maintained. The villas used to be part of a hotel/resort complex. The hotel has been closed completely since Maria. It is on an adjacent but different property. Because the hotel is closed, there are none of the usual hotel-type amenities, restaurants, etc. However, there are many wonderful restaurants and cafes nearby in Rincon. There is no beach access at the villas but the property pool with a magnificent ocean view, and the individual plunge pools are very well-maintained. There is no internet access - which may be a draw-back for some and cell phone coverage is very spotty. The staff and management are only a few - but very friendly and helpful. We completely enjoyed the stay.

Most beautiful romantic property and location

We absolutely love Rincón and will definitely return to the Horned Dorset Villas. The villa was more beautiful than the pictures do justice. The management of the property was so nice, helpful and gave us great tips.

Fantastic stay in a dreamy location

Mango and Playa lives up to every expectation. An amazing experience at a lovely villa with its own plunge pool. on pristine tropical grounds with a fantastic infinity pool with views of the ocean. What more can you ask for. An incredible place, I would recommend it most highly!

Lots of potential

We loved the location and potential this property has to offer. Some downsides were there were no chairs by the beautiful infinity pool to use.. we had to bring them from our room. Room as a whole was decorated beautifully and was really nice! Bed was super comfortable, and bathroom was really spacious and clean. There were some leaks coming through the walls being caught by towels in the hall and leaks in the kitchen due to the freezer. These were not deal breakers for us, but definitely not a 5 star experience. Property managers were a bit hard to get in touch with.. we had texted with a few questions and issues ie. getting locked out, and we never got a response til the next day, luckily we figured it out on our own. We would stay at this property again because we did like the location, being a little further out of the heart of Rincon, but you will have to go in to it not expecting 5 star for 5 star prices.

We had a wonderful stay! We decided to book this villa for a much needed winter get-a-way and it was the perfect place - clean, comfortable, quiet, and relaxing. We loved the plunge pool right outside our door and wished we could have stayed longer. We’re already planning to return.
