This is a very special place, inside and out. I went solo, with my dog, and this was exactly the restful retreat I was looking for. The inside space is thoughtfully designed, with awesome art throughout, and the glass doors facing the lake are perfection. The creature comforts of the excellent heating systems, laundry, full kitchen, great wifi, etc were all appreciated. In the kitchen, there was even some honey from the owner’s beehives and dried herbs from their garden. Outdoors, there are several really special places to sit and experience the surroundings—my favorite was the lounge settee tucked into a little nook amongst the foliage, right next to the water’s edge. This is a very special place, on very special land, that I hope to return to.

Lovely lakefront views with many different outdoor seating areas/meditation areas/conversation areas. Kitchen was well-stocked with amenities. Interior had a very cool, zen 'vibe' and owner made great use of color and fabric lighting. Owner was very responsive to our questions and had great ideas for places to eat (town is about a 7 mi drive) and hike (drive to many trails and all were lovely). Our only issues - and they were minor - were that the grass throughout the property was high and usually wet, and our 'sponge dog' was usually soaked. It is a little tricky to get out of the driveway onto the road, as there is a blind curve on the road and the few passing cars don't necessarily see the drive. There is only 1 tv (located in 1 of the bedrooms), and it was only available for streaming (the listing says this, but we missed it; it was a challenge for my husband who wanted to watch sports; this isn't the place to do that but there are plenty of sports bars in town). Overall, though, it was a great place for a quiet retreat!

Property was amazing, loved the multiple decks, gazebo and dock. Our host was great making sure we had everything we could need. Clean and comfortable with plenty of dishes, silverware, pots and pan as well as stock of essentials. Definitely a place I would book again.

We fell in love with Gisela’s home the moment we walked in. It’s filled with her beautiful art, thoughtful decor, and personal touches like a well-stocked kitchen, her own honey, and a welcome gift of pasta and sauce. Natural light, cozy furniture, and stunning views of the reservoir made it so easy to relax. The dock, gazebo, and outdoor seating areas were perfect for quiet moments by the water (bug spray provided!). Gisela’s eco-conscious approach and warm hospitality made our stay truly special.

All In One Stay

This artfully decorated house by the lake is a one stop shop for all the lake has to offer. A wide array of kayaks, canoes, and paddle board are offered for exploration. Two docks were useful for fishing and wading in the lake. My two kids switched activities all day every day, non-stop, and neither one even asked for an electronic. My 10 year old said that it was one of the best days of his life with all the good fishing! The kitchen was fully equipped, the grill was in great condition, and the fire pit was enjoyable. There’s nothing I would improve on, except booking a few extra days next time we return.

Great Getaway

My family stayed for a long weekend. It’s about a 10 minute drive to New Paltz. It was a perfect place to stay for my daughter’s graduation weekend. We made use of bbq, fire pit, kayaks, canoes & long board. It’s a cozy, clean, relaxing property! With amazing sunsets.

Great girls weekend

Stayed with a few girlfriends and had a great time. The place was clean, cozy and comfortable and a close drive to New Paltz. The house is right on the lake with a nice view. Gisela was very proactive and responsive to anything we needed! Weather was cloudy/rainy, so we didn’t get a sunset…but maybe next time!
