We had the most amazing stay from start to finish. We got there after midnight due to flight times, but were offered a guide to get us there or clear directions with a code for a key box. When we got there, the property had outside lights to guide us in and a fridge with a home cooked meal in, snacks, wine, olive oil and fruit. :-). So welcoming. The next day when we woke up we realised how beautiful the villa was and the views are just stunning. There is a twisty mountain road to get up to the villa but it’s very quiet. You’ll see more goats than cars. Take your time and enjoy the scenery and all is well. The pool was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable, the showers wonderful and it was very well equipped. The villa is within half an hour of Rethymno which is delightful. We were also within an easy drive of Knossos, Chania, Heraklion and Lake Kournas. One day however, we just stayed home and enjoyed the relaxation of the villa. :-)As we had a super late flight home and as no one was due to arrive the day we left, our hosts kindly agreed that we could stay way beyond the check out time and enjoy our last day without rushing. We stayed until 4pm and we are so appreciative of the kindness. We even received a parting gift. I cannot recommend Harkia Villas enough. Simply stunning. X.

Set back in a very secluded and quiet area, very clean and tidy, with all the things we needed for a lovely stay. The beds were incredibly comfy and the hosts were very helpful and friendly The casserole and salad on the first night were a very welcome surprise .

Perfect stay in a beautiful location

From start to finish, this was one of the best rental experiences we've ever had. The communication with the owners was outstanding, they were incredibly welcoming, responsive, and genuinely cared about making sure we had everything we needed. It really made all the difference and set the tone for a relaxing, worry free trip.The property itself was perfect in every way: clean, beautifully maintained, well-equipped, and exactly as described (if not better!). Every detail was thought through, making it feel like a true home away from home. We couldn’t have asked for more.Highly recommend staying here - you won’t be disappointed!

This villa exceeded our expectations in every level. The location was quiet and serene with sweeping views of the wild Cretan mountains, gorge and sea. The home was spacious, in excellent working order in all regards and had the most comfortable beds Coco Mat. The owners Nick and Vasiliki are great led us with a full course dinner, wine, olive oil and fruit which was completely unexpected but very much appreciated. They are excellent people who understand Filoxenia, a Greek term referring to hospitality. I highly recommend this property for your next stay Rethymno. A car rental is a must, fyi.

Such a relaxing break!

Fantastic welcome from Vaso including a lovely homecooked meal. The villa is lovely, we felt instantly at home. Well equipped, comfortable and clean. Loved relaxing in and by the pool.Do go and find the small kafenion behind the church up in Harkia, couldn't believe how welcome we were made to feel. To much to explore in a week, we will be back.Many thanks

Die Lage der Villas ist einfach traumhaft, weit weg vom Trubel. Perfekt, wenn man Ruhe und Natur genießen möchte. Ein Paradies

Was für ein wunderschönes Paradies. Hoch auf den Bergen mit Blick aufs Meer. Zum Seele baumeln lassen ein eigener Pool direkt vor der Terrasse. Jeden Morgen sind wir erst einmal ins Wasser gesprungen. Der Gast wird rundherum umsorgt. Bei Anreise (Schlüssel im Safe am Tor) steht ein fertiges warmes Essen auf dem Herd. Dazu ein griechischer Salat im Kühlschrank, ebenso Getränke. Dazu auf dem Tisch selbst gemachtes Olivenöl. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter Argiri erfolgt unkompliziert und schnell. Alle Anliegen werden sofort beantwortet und umgesetzt. Innerhalb weniger Minuten sind seine charmanten Eltern da und schaffen Abhilfe. Wir haben uns so wohl gefühlt und sagen Argiri und seinen Eltern von Herzen Danke. Irgendwann kommen wir bestimmt wieder.

Wunderbare Unterkunft, toller Ausblick, tolle Gastgeber

Toller Empfang mit leckerem Essen, Wein, Olivenöl. Wunderschöne Aussicht, mitten in der Natur, tolle Ausstattung, sehr saubere und gepflegte Anlage. Bei Fragen hat der Vermieter direkt reagiert. Besser gehts nicht! Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Einfach toll!

Wir hatten 2 wunderschöne Wochen in dieser tollen Villa. Herzliche stets gut zu kontaktierende Gastgeber. Wir wurden sogar bekocht und das Essen war superlecker! Das Haus ist perfekt ausgestattet und mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Gute Betten, darin kann man wirklich entspannen. Tolle Aussicht und die Lage mitten in den Bergen war genau das, was wir gesucht haben! Einfach herrlich. Wir haben uns super wohl gefühlt und wir kommen gerne wieder! Absolute Ruhe und Erholung

Wer absolute Ruhe sucht, ist hier richtig. Auch als Startpunkt für Ausflüge in zentraler Lage auf der Norseite der Insel Nähe Rethymno geeignet. Der Weg zum Meer beträgt rund 10km, ein Mietwagen ist Pflicht. Das Haus bietet die gesamte Ausstattung, die man sich wünscht. Wir waren in den letuten beiden Oktoberwochen es war ausreichend warm zum baden. Nur abends in den Bergen wirds halt kühl....

Einfach perfekt!

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt! Von Anfang bis Ende waren wir von der Qualität und dem Service begeistert. Das Haus ist stilvoll eingerichtet und bietet allen Komfort, den man sich während eines Urlaubs wünschen kann. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und gemütlich, und die Betten sind sehr bequem. Die Badezimmer sind modern und sauber. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet mit allem, was man zum Kochen braucht. Der gemütliche Wohnbereich mit TV lädt zum Entspannen ein. Der Höhepunkt des Ferienhauses war zweifellos der Außenbereich mit einer atemberaubenden Aussicht. Der schöne Pool und die bequeme Liegefläche boten die perfekte Möglichkeit zur Entspannung, während die Sitzschaukel auf der oberen Terrasse einladend zum Lesen war. Der Gastgeber war äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Er hat uns herzlich empfangen und uns alle Informationen gegeben, die wir für unseren Aufenthalt benötigen. Er stand uns auch während des gesamten Urlaubs zur Verfügung, um Fragen zu beantworten oder weitere Hilfe anzubieten. Es war ein rundum perfekter Service! Die Lage des Ferienhauses ist ebenfalls ideal. Es liegt in einer ruhigen Gegend, umgeben von Natur, aber dennoch nicht allzuweit von Geschäften, Restaurants und Sehenswürdigkeiten. Insgesamt können wir dieses Ferienhaus nur wärmstens empfehlen. Es bietet den idealen Ort für einen erholsamen Urlaub. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Vielen Dank an den Gastgeber und das gesamte Team für diese unvergesslichen Ferientage für uns 5 Sterne+

Ruhig und entspannt

Wer die absolute Ruhe sucht, ist hier genau richtig.Wer nicht für jeden Einkauf oder Restaurantbesuch 25 Minuten mit dem Auto fahren will, ist hier falsch. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern war problemlos, man fühlte sich sehr umsorgt. Toll war, was ja auch schon andere Urlauber geschrieben haben, dass bei unseren spätabendlichen Anreise von der Mama frisch gekochtes Essen, Salat und Käse und Wein im Kühlschrank standen! Vielen lieben Dank dafür! Der Blick vom Berg ins Tal und auf das Meer ist sehr schön. Leider war jetzt im Oktober schon ab 16.30 Uhr keine Sonne mehr auf der Terrasse und es war auch sehr windig, aber da können die Vermieter nichts dafür. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet, die Matratzen sind ein Traum, selten auswärts so gut geschlafen. Mittwochs kam die Mama und hat alles geputzt und es gab neue Handtücher und Bettwäsche. Wie schon erwähnt, wer die Fahrt nicht scheut, findet in der Umgebung, z.B. in Adele oder Rethymno, sehr gute Tavernas mit authentischer kretischer Küche. Unten im Tal war es auch in der Regel 4-5 Grad wärmer als am Berg, so dass man dort auch gut draussen sitzen konnte. Mietwagen ist unverzichtbar, die Anfahrt von Chania oder Heraklion dauert jeweils ca. 1,5 Stunden. Aber so kann man gut die Umgebung erkunden, Kloster Arkadi ist z.B. nur 20 Minuten entfernt. Insgesamt ein sehr entspannter Urlaub, die Gastfreundschaft der Gastgeber ist besonders hervorzuheben. Vielen Dank! Anja und Kai

Tranquillity and comfort

Our stay at the villa was very enjoyable & relaxing. The host family was extremely welcoming, attentive & generous - we enjoyed some lovely homemade meals. The villa was well- serviced. We enjoyed the large comfortable bed & found the villa, in general, well-appointed & comfortable - good air-conditionimg & appliances were much appreciated. Our pool, in the lower villa, did not enjoy the privacy we expected as the villa above has a good view of it, but this wasn't really an issue. We enjoyed the tranquility of the mountain setting & being 20 minutes from a supermarket & other facilities was fine. The proximity to Rethymno is good. Villa Harkia would be a good choice for your holiday in Western Crete.
