I was very disappointed with my recent experience. The room at North Coast Seaside Suites was in unacceptable condition: it smelled strongly of mold and dampness, and the bed linen was dirty. As I am pregnant, this posed a serious health risk. The situation was completely disproportionate to what we had paid and what was actually provided. The hotel also refused both a room change and a refund. In addition, there was almost never anyone at the reception, and my messages were answered very late, if at all.
Unfortunately, the Expedia customer service was also extremely unhelpful. At one point, support simply stopped responding to my messages. Later, I received a call, but even then there was no real solution offered – except for a partial refund of only $85, which is not acceptable considering the circumstances.
As a long-time loyal Expedia customer, I expected better. I truly hope my feedback is taken seriously so that future travelers do not face the same situation, and that Expedia ensures proper standards and protection for its customers.
