Perfect for a budget holiday
This was my second stay and it was perfect, we did the Tongariro crossing and the homes location to national park and surrounding walks and activities makes it the perfect option if you want something cheap. For the price it’s what you expect. It’s no luxury hotel but it has more then enough for what you pay for

Homey and Very Practical
Have a homey feel, close to tonggariro and very budget friendly. Neighbourhood is quite but people are friendly. Thanks for the lovely stay!

Raurimu suprise
What a lovely wee place. Raurimu was more interesting than we thought. 4 Square at National Parkjust 10 minutes away for anything that we had forgotten and ice, mountain only a half hour drive. Great cell phone reception. couldn't get the tv to work though.

Comfortable and warm little home. TV didnt work at all - no reception from the dish. Didn't matter, watched latest news etc on my laptop. Previous guests left used plastic bottles in the bathroom waste basket but we didn't use it at all so no effect on us. Handy to the mountain and nice quiet spot except for the trains at night which actually weren't unpleasant and something different we are not used to hearing. Great place to stay and value for money.

Unfortunately, no cleaners means lots of dust in the room and moss on the "washroom's" windows
I would have appreciated knowing about the "no cleaners" policy and the outside "washroom" prior to booking.

The Spiral
Great little place, couldn't work the satellite TV but not a worry I guess there were instructions somewhere. I fixed the zip water heater the whistle was missing and sitting on top of urn. Overall great place, but National Park Bar is a total rip off! Paid $25 for buffet breakfast then had to buy coffee outside separately. Auckland prices with crap service and crap food. Unfortunately the Cafe by gas station and at railway station are both closed now. Avoid National Park as a destination Chateau closed etc take your own food and alcohol great area but not well served by hospitality.

Cute cottage
Second stay, cute cottage, so convenient for National park. Well set up. Drying room surprisingly effective. Had a lovely time, will be back. Kids loved dinosaur museum in Raetihi and army museum - great to have rainy day options.

Cosy and value for money
Cosy and value for money- fit my needs. I would want to know in advance that the toilet and shower are outside in a separate building. Take a head torch if you need to go to the toilet at night.

Warm and Cosy Little Cottage
We had a great stay over the New Year holidays. Great location as it is close to National Park and we had enjoyed our walks in the area. Cottage is warm and cosy and has the basic facilities.

Perfect little cottage
Cottage is clean, beds are comfy, heating is great. Outside wash house is clean, shower is great! We used the laundry room as our drying room for snow gear - bought our own dehumidifier. We will be back!

Really enjoyed the stay, the cottage was very quaint and cozy and was exactly what we needed and wanted, great little kitchenette didn't expect that much in that small area it was great but the only thing is which brassed me off was the information regarding keeping things clean ect ect take your rubbish and recycling ect, The property owner or care taker should have done a better job of cleaning before we got there.

Great weekend away
We had a fantastic stay at Raurimu foe a weekend getaway. Great location close to ski fields and nice walks. The property had everything we needed and we were very impressed by how clean it was. Would love to stay here again.

Cosy, warm
Place is was cozy and warm. We had terrible weather so didn't get up the mountain as much as we would like but lots of other great things in the area. Kitchen well resourced, beds comfortable, dryer and wet room a blessing after a wet, cold day up Ruapehu.

Cosy little cottage
We've stayed here a few times now and keep coming back. Nice quiet location close to the mountain. Facilities are basic but all that you need, especially if you are spending your days up on the mountain.

Amazing little cottage
Wow, this is a cute little cottage, everything it said in the advert it was there, would recommend, easy to heat, but cool in winter detached bathroom but hey that’s a minor thing, close to snow, quiet area, easy to find too we enjoyed our stay with our 6 yr old son, Thanks Haven.. 👍🏻😎🌈🌎

You get what you pay for: Pros: Conveniently located, bach has all the amenities required to cook (except oven), the main bed is comfy Cons: Not clean, at night you need extra heating, the pillows are not good, lack of dining table.

Cozy retreat from winter
Small and cozy cottage which has all the amenities required. It's very conveniently located for access to Whakapapa. A quick dash gets you to the separate washroom which is right next door. The property manager is very friendly and helpful while the accommodation guide notes provided are comprehensive and useful.

Picturesque location, handy to the mountain.
This was a compact and well used shack. There is not sufficient heating for the winter weather. A dehumidifier would be useful. Need to think about cooking meals in advance when bbq is not an option. Lounge/bedroom is much smaller than it looks. There is no table to eat off. Please update website photos. There is a window/door that rattles at night and the trains are loud!

Kitchen not very clean. Zip did not work. Tiles in bathroom dirty and dangerous. Overall poor quality compared with other places in Raurimu where other friends were staying
