"Our stay at the ship inn was lovely. The room was spacious and modern, the bed was really comfortable, the bathroom and walk in shower were delightful. "Beautiful guest house …very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful rooms, lovely and clean, with mini bar …and they little details in the rooms like Disaronno liquor ….a little Italian restaurant situated downstairs. Maldon is a beautiful village, with little shops and restaurants just around the corner, I would also highly recommend Mrs Salisburys for food & service too which is just around the corner on the high street. Parking is also available. "

"The bathroom was dirty, clearly had not been cleaned properly in some time, there was hair all over the floor, dirt build up around the shower tray and shower itself. Windows were also very dirty. The breakfast bag is not worth it as it’s not ready to go you have to wait 10mins for the hot part!"

"Lovely, interesting old building in a very good location. Given the age of the hotel there are the inevitable uneven floors and slightly steep stairs. The free parking at the rear of the hotel is a real bonus. Our room was comfortable, well equipped and pleasantly decorated. The breakfasts were consistently good but sadly the hotel does not provide evening meals. All the staff were cheerful and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again."

"I felt comfortable as a solo traveller. But then it was my home town for nearly 40 years. However staff fantastic. I didn't check in until quite late in the day, and was told my room would be in the 1st not grounds floor which I had asked for. But the reason was the lock on my ground floor was playing up and needed a repair. But I could lock from inside and although it was a struggle I managed it so it was my choice to take the ground floor. Peaceful night. Nice shower. Found duvet in...

"Nice location decent room but Tv is a lil dated and control was slow. The portion size food wise was a bit of a let down for me but it was decent. It may be one of the better/best hotels in the area."

"There is a need to be very carefull when describing accomodation as Boutique.Hamiltons is an excellent place to stay very comfortable,clean and a tasty big British Breakfast.Boutique usually has very big towels,dressing gowns to use with the option to buy them,DVD player,fridge in the room and many more extras.Best to describe Hamiltons as Boutique style accommodation."
